Front and back. Not both sides. Maybe you just didnt notice. I've boarded in multiples ports and they divide into 2 so it's about as fast as smaller ships.

Oasis class on royal divides embarkation into both sides of thr ship, not one. On smaller ships only one place to board the ship, oasis class split it into two and debarkation is from front or back. I always walk forward as most seem to walk aft. My secret for a fast debark on royal mega ships. I too read this and wondered what will be the new features. Holy cow on the over 6,000 pax size. They say largest in the world. Idk if the ships are bigger or just more cabins. Hard for me to tell from the write up. .. but for sure that is lots of people.

In my case I'm doing a TA over to spain then a 10 day ending in rome where I have the last 4 days in rome. Not the other direction which most seem to be doing. I worry about the flight and thought I'd worry less if thr flight is behind me and I'm delayed just flying home. Too many I know have had flight issues. A friend just got home from Norway and her luggage didnt make it until her last port. I havent yet got worried about euros. But thanks for the advice. Idk even if my hotel has a safe in the rooms. Solo female and pick pockets so good to be reminded. Lol already worried and now worried more.

Are you solo? Is this for 1 or 2 people? It's just me. I could book the shared shuttle ahead and pay now. There is also a last minute shared shuttle site. I had some cabins booked as canadian group rates this oct and paid 3 foreign fees, so I checked and my Kroger card doesnt charge a foreign fee, neither does ubs. So I'll not use my chase card for this cruise lol. Idk before I used it, didnt have time to check. My TA had the good rates so I jumped on them. Sure enough a fee from chase. I was going to cancel my Kroger card but now I'll keep it. Though I think it's a Mastercard not a visa. I hate to take all 3 cards, but I may. People say just take a taxi home from excursions. I suspect euros will add up faster than I think. Especially if I take taxis. I plan on eating pizza too. I dont eat pasta.

I had a bad female steward last time on harmony. She skipped me multiple days and called everyone sunshine. Everyone. Didnt call anyone by name. 3rd week I changed cabins and great steward. Doing harmony next for 4 weeks. Same cabin all 4 legs. Hopefully I dont get her again. I'm flying to hobby then as well.

I'm in the same boat. But too soon to convert and decide. I'm not going until next may. I'm on voyager b2b ending in rome. 4 days then fly home. Hotel already paid for but not shuttles etc as of yet or food. I dont plan on eating 900 euros worth, but not sure what a good number is.

If you get a hotel I wouldnt get one really close to the train. Several hotel reviews right by the train station in rome, especially at night the area was sketchy, move 20 minutes walk away maybe. That's why I got more central rome at a higher price. There are many hotels recommended more central on the italy section. Smeraldo seems to be a top pick. Look at its location and find something near there perhaps. You can walk to spanish steps and tivoli and other well known places from there on your own. This might be obvious and I dont need to mention but I will have euros to spend for food and tips and transport in rome. Not dollars. I also will always carry some small bills for tips and exact change but in europe euros. Including small bills in euros.

It varies so much day by day its 79 one day and 85 the next plus 18%. Depends which day you click the planner. No predicting the price.

It was a b2b. And since I said I was able to do the cancel myself and rebook, obviously it was not too late. It was for the next week after the week I was onboard. They do not price match. They cancel and rebook. You wait for the refund if you used a credit card. I called and as I said they claimed there was a 18% tax on excursions. Clearly if you know excursions you know this is not true. Just a bad agent. Luckily I could sign in without buying wifi to their site and do it myself. You can get on royalcaribbean site without wifi on your cruise. Ever since I've been doing it myself. It was a minor amount, just did it myself.

Actually this didnt wouk for me. I was onboard and a excursion then following week dropped in price. I went and asked and was connected to shore side customer service who was clueless. They insisted the price of the excursion didnt drop thru difference was the 18% tax. There is no taxe when you purchase a excursion from royal. Luckily it is free to access royalcaribbean online and I managed to log in for the next week, go to transactions and click for details and click to cancel. And then just rebook. They do not do price matches or the difference. You have to cancel and rebook. I had obc so got the refund immediately and just rebooked myself. I especially wanted a nice tour of athens greece. Sold out! Half are already sold out. I'm a bit shocked how fast they sold out as they are just giving us a few at a time and my cruise isnt until next may. So I'd say dont want if you see one you want. I'm not checking often enough obviously. Gone before I even see them. I never saw this one for athens greece before it sold out. Dont want a 3 hour walking tour or selfie tour, I want 3 to 5 hours and they drive me around. Not 6 or 7 hours. Rows of sold out already.

That's why I booked direct. Air2sea wanted starting $1510 rome to orlando. I have a TA who can see fares other than the day I get off in rome. If I flew right back I could have for about $1000 one way. I'm doing a TA over so just need one way eventually to orlando. I downloaded viator app who has excursions. I booked one thru trip advisor but it also says viator so they must be the same company. If you just want transportation from the airport to the port and not round trip and not stay in rome royal will also have this sold separate. Sounds like you booked direct but call royal and they can tell you how much it costs for a shuttle. Prepare it's not that close. I have links to shared shuttles from the port. One is $75 pp the other is last minute, I dont think it says. I've been on the italy ports forum a lot. That's where I got my hotel. And even my hotel which lists it has a airport shuttle as a amenity, it's not free! In the states if a hotel says it has a airport shuttle I'm used to it being included. They want $86 per person. My cheap TA is now up to $5k and I have group rates and solo discount etc. Plus 4 nights in rome, plus excursions, plus shuttles. .. and I havent even booked excursions yet for my 23 days onboard. Im doing a similar cruise and my roll call seems silent on excursions. One said about getting up a group to go up a mountain or something hard to walk up never heard further and silence elsewhere. OPs cruise is this year. Mine isnt until next may. I checked a few days ago and half the excursions were already completely sold out. I was hoping for a smaller one in athens. Only saw one for 7 hours. Too long for me. I'm sure hoping more excursions added. And boy are they expensive. Much more $$$ than caribbean excursions. Or even to Panama. More comparable to alaska. Viator is mentioned for port excursions. Idk. Royal so far is pretty lame in this dept.

Milk is free, white or chocolate but juice is only free at breakfast. If she likes apple or orange juice grab a extra cup or two during breakfast and put them in the refrigerator in your cabin. Lemonade is almost always offered in the buffet for free during lunch and dinner and some kind of flavored water like guava or strawberry. I can make do with whatever is free. I'm doing the TA from port Canaveral and the leg after and it ends in rome or civitavecchia. So I've been researching too. Are you buying air2sea planefare and transfers or booking on your own. For the day I wanted to come home it was starting prices of $1510 so I'm booking airfare on my own. I've also got marked a couple of shuttles from the port to my hotel. I'm going to stay in rome a few extra days to see rome. I get 2 days of wifi (as a D+ perk) and will make due with them. Otherwise I wouldn't have wifi on the ship. Sometimes i might buy a extra 24 hours of wifi but not for the entire cruise. I do without wifi. When you board be sure you connect to the ships wifi and put your phone in airplane mode or it will try and roam and you might wind up with a huge bill. All the ships activities will be on the app, you dont need wifi to use the app. You can spend a lot on extras or very little, it's up to you. I havent booked excursions yet myself.

I've heard the shower gets pretty hot, enough for a babys bottle. Try it and see.

Bidding is handled by a separate company from what I know and doesnt change anything. Your cabin assignment wouldnt be affected. You can still bid even if assigned.

From what I heard takes months to get one. They have to be made. Someone turned pinnacle on my cruise and was told it would take several months to arrive. I assume you plan to do more than one on royal, so it's worth waiting for. Key cards are a different color however so people do know you are pinnacle or a suite by the color. Well maybe they do say your level, I was just going by the color.

I was able to book bogo the day before turnaround. I'd imagine a pkg is the same.

Pretty much every ship I've been on lately has early dinner at 5 pm. I agree it's too early but they have to get ready for late dining. You could ask for anytime when you board and a 6 pm time. The WJ opens at 6 pm. I eat here about half the time.

Says not even enough bandwidth to email. Is this true of value pkg? I eyed it but I would want to email.

If there is a way to get last minute deals, sign me up too. I'm diamond. I'd love access to last minute deals. I now moved close to a port.

I guess I have some of both booked. I'd consider myself a value person, best value but also I have some friends I'm doing wonder then 1 day later utopia. I didnt pick it but interested to see these higher priced ships too, as well as some older shorter and longer cruises. A selection of each. Each I booked what i consider the best value i could. I'd rather a ocean view balcony but usually book a neighborhood balcony on oasis class to save money to cruise more often.

I think maybe that is the date of when it was redone. Coco cay opened way before 2019. I was there when there was just a bbq and beach and lounge chairs.
