  1. I live in Oklahoma. My aunt (Mother's siter) was living with my parents. One morning my mother went to her sister's room because it was later than she normally was up. She found her dead by the closet. She called 911 and the police and EMS showed up. My mother called me because she was upset. I went over. The EMS pronouced her dead. The police asked if she had any medical conditions. I told them yes and they asked for her doctor's name. They called the doctor and found out she was awaiting approval for an experimental surgery on her heart. The doctor said that with this condition she could die suddenly. With that information the police said it was of natural causes (not suspicious) and an autopsy would not be needed.
  2. Same thing for me. When I try to add the bookings back in it does absolutely nothing. I click the submit, and nothing but nothing happens.
  3. Am I reading this right? You were told that Carnival will not be replacing these broken mattresses during drydock
  4. That is what I usually do. I do this for all vacations including cruises and land ones. In fact I booked our hotel in Rome back in July 2022 and my cruises aren't until September and October of this year. I am glad I did as prices are higher now because the Ryder Cup is starting the first day of my first cruise of the B2B. I was waiting for some of the ports to even have excursions posted which just happened recently.
  5. We have B2B out of Rome and booked several of our excursions through Carnival when I saw this post. Now all of them have gone up $20 to $30 per person. We have 13 ports of call and have 6 booked through Carnival. It would cost us $256 more if we were to book now. I am grateful for the heads up on the increases.
  6. That might work for someone else at another time, but that won't work for the OP. She sets sail today. Wouldn't have the time and to top it off, I am pretty sure the Passport Office is closed today for MLK Jr Day.
  7. I am not saying my first cruise is in 9 days. My cruises are in September and October. My first cruise is 9 days in length. We are flying to Rome. We leave 1 day and arrive the next day on our flight. We will be in Rome for 4 days prior to the cruise. Because of the time difference, when we leave home it will be 15 or 16 days days before sailing. I see my hotel has internet so I should be able to check in from mu hotel on my phone using their internet. I'll have to figure out what time it is in Rome when it is check in time on the Carnival site (which I assume is Eastern time). I guess I won't have to be up in the middle of night, since Rome is several hours ahead of the US Eastern time. It looks a 6 hour difference, so that would make it an early morning.
  8. I haven't been a cruise for 6 years. But I thought before there were computers onboard where you could access the Carnival website without having to purchase internet. You could book cruises online there too. I am not talking about the future cruise desk. Is that not the case anymore? If not I will have to make sure I have internet at my hotel in Rome since we will be going on a B2B, but spending 4 days in Rome before. Our first cruise is 9 days. Counting travel time to Rome, time in Rome, and the first cruise I think I won't be able to do that before I leave home. Also I do not have a phone that I will be able to get cell phone service while in Europe.
  9. According to the Carnival website, you can cruise with a certified birth certificate and government issued photo ID (drivers license, etc) since your cruise starts and ends in a US port. There are exceptions. Are you traveling to Canada or Martinique? Then you will need a valid passport. Some countries don't require a passport to be valid for 6 months. So I guess you would need to do a little research if going to a country that requires a passport about their requirements.
  10. I am on the 2 cruises just before you. On a different site people have been talking about not being able to book Fly2Fun. When they call Carnival several have been told to just book the airfare themselves. This also sounds strange. And we are nowhere near the drydock time. All round trip cruises from Rome have also disappeared from Carnival and from all port schedules.
  11. The trip will not have to be done twice. The Pride will be leaving the USA on a Transatlantic before going into dry dock. After dry dock it will start it's European sailings. So apparently the dry dock is taking place in Europe.
  12. All I know is something weird is going on with the port schedules for the Pride. I have used cruisetimetables before and it is usually pretty accurate. I am booked on the Pride for September 29 and October 8. When I first booked our cruises were shown on cruisetimetables. Now they are gone. They show September 10 and nothing until October 28. On the Carnival website those cruises shown on cruisetimetable are supposedly sold out. So they aren't removed if a cruise sells out. So where are my cruises. It appears all the Pride cruises round trip from Rome (Civitavecchia) have been removed. It arrives on September 10 and then does a transatlantic from there on October 28. What about the cruises in between. Very strange they have been removed.
  13. Trip insurance wouldn't help that much. You could transfer the trip insurance to another cruise. You won't have coverage for the flights if the cruise is cancelled. The only thing they will cover is the change fee up to the limits of the policy. You ask how I know this. We had trip insurance and Carnival cancelled our cruise back before Covid. The insurance said that the flight was still taking place so it wasn't covered even though we had no cruise. You would probably get a credit for a future flight minus the change fee. You will get your money back if it is a refundable fare.
  14. Like icft said, the Conquest ships do have sliding balcony doors on the cabins in the front of Deck 11. These used to be Oceanview cabins with slanted floor to ceiling windows. They converted them and used the sliding glass doors. I know this since I had booked one of the Oceanview cabins, and between the time I booked and the time of sailing the ship went into drydock and they were converted. I got to keep the cabin and was not charged anything extra.
  15. If you pay off your cruise with the gift cards, Carnival will refund that money in another gift card, not cash or credit to your credit or debit card. That can take up to a few weeks to receive. This holds for anything you pay for with a gift card and then cancel, including excursions and fun shop purchases. Like Thenagers said the gifts cards are usually there. They are not a limited time offer. Sometimes they are sold out and you will have to wait until they get more inventory in. It becomes a juggling act of when to buy. If you buy too early and then cancel you have a gift card replacement instead of your money back. If you wait too late you run the chance of them being sold out. I am glad you saw my post and checked the restrictions on the Celebrity cards before you purchased. Of course you would be able to use them if and when you booked another cruise on Celebrity later.
  16. The Celebrity and Royal cards can only be used for new bookings. This is under the Rewards terms that you can see by clicking the red arrow. Carnival cards do not have that restriction, they can be used for anything.
  17. Was this offer shown after you chose the Havana category (Havana balcony)? Then I would expect it is the price for a guarentee Havana balcony. To make sure, go through all the steps. I find the cruise then click select. Then I have to tell number of cabins, people, chose any discounts I am entitled to including my state of residence and VIFP number. Next page I choose the category of Havana. Then the next page I choose which type of Havana cabin I want. If a guarantee rate shows up it is for that category.
  18. Impatiently waiting for the rest of your review. I hope it is not like the Tootsie Pop commercial about how many licks it takes to get the the center of a Tootsie Pop, "the world may never know." Hope you are getting things sorted out in Fort Myers. It has to be hard. We went through flooding of my parents house many years ago. It was a terrible mess, every home in their area was flooded. But this situation is a lot bigger and messier in FLorida.
  19. There are only benefits for spa cabins on a ship that has a Cloud 9 Spa. The Freedom does not have it. There are no amenties that go with it. It is just a regular cabin that happens to be on the Spa deck. Have had one before with no added amenties. Just a different location, if that is what you want.
  20. I think the price they are showing is 15% less than what you will pay if wait to pay when you get onboard.
  21. Why did you decide to skip Olympia? Have you been there before? I am trying to figure out if it is worth the trip.
  22. When you purchased them is about the time their website started having problems with purchases. You haven't been able to make purchases for the last 3 weeks or more. They just made up a reason that wasn't the truth. If you look at their site now, they have a notice that AARP Rewards checkout is having problems and unavailable for purchases. People are complaining on their forum about all the IT problems they are having. I wouldn't trust giving them any of my money for a card when it comes back up. Every month they have the same problems with the Extra Credit activities. It takes them a few hours to get it corrected and then the next month they have the same problems all over again. Totally imcompetent IT!!!
  23. I think they are probably raising the price of their internet. It was supposed to go up on October 1 but the price has been the lower price all weekend. When it comes back up we will probably see the new increased price.
  24. I think you have the option of the cable car (at your expense) back down to the water shuttles. I looked at the excursions before and that is what most of them said. You can also ride a donkey or walk down.
  25. Where did they get those numbers? Currently the value is $11.05 and the premium is $14.45. Raising the value aboout $9 and the Premium over $15 doesn't sound right. That would be over 100% increase for the premium. Over double!!! Something sounds wrong here.
