  1. Bottom line: if Regent really wanted to know what you thought of the cruise and wanted your comments/suggestions, it would be an easier process. I don't think they really want our input, thus they make it hard.
  2. About five or six years ago while on a cruise, a happy Silversea crew member told me that they had just received new furniture for a crew lounge. The furniture was procured with funds from the so called "crew's fund" that guests donated to. He said the crew really appreciated it! That left a bad taste in my mouth. Should we be paying for something that in my mind is the cruise line's responsibility? I have not donated since but tip individuals who provide great service.
  3. And this also affects guests arriving for the next cruise. Wonder what time boarding will begin for them? 5 pm or 6 pm? What a dumb idea.
  4. What ship is he on? Did he mention it anywhere and I missed it?
  5. We did not get one in 2023 after receiving various items through the years, such as coffee table books, framable prints, etc. We are in the US.
  6. You are not the only one, because I'm with you on this. Much prefer the old-school, large main dining room instead of figuring out where we want to eat every night.
  7. This is true if you are talking about two loungers and nothing else. But with a table and two chairs, there is room for only one lounger. Don 't think anyone wants a balcony without a table and chairs.
  8. I use these travel warehouse sites also. They are great for seeing what suites are available for booking, but are misleading regarding how full the cruise really is since they do not take into account the number of "guarantees" sold that have not been assigned suites.
  9. Or maybe because all of their stock of "lending" jackets were already in use, hanging from the backs of chairs in the dining room.
  10. Z - like you I am a rum drinker and can't stand Bacardi (or Captain Morgan). On board Regent I usually drink Mount Gay or Diplimatico (sp?) from Venezuela. '73, 'N' company.
  11. This is exactly the way we do it when booking Silversea cruises.
  12. You're right. I never heard Outback described as a "mid-tiered steakhouse chain". Wonder what a low-tiered steakhouse chain would be then.
  13. I'm with you on this! Who wants to be enjoying the Observation Bar and having people eating a hamburger next to you while sitting at the bar and dirty dishes left on the tables.. Room service should mean service to the suites only!
  14. Pan Pacific. Your ship will dock right below it.
  15. Also, if "they gave our table away" for your 7:30 reservation, what time did you arrive at the restaurant? Were you there before 7:30 or did you arrive after 7:30?
  16. The ship looks beautiful and very contemporary. However, I do not like all of the bench seating in the restaurants and the uncomfortable, cheap looking balcony furniture in the veranda suites.
  17. Love it when posters on here say they will no longer sail on Silversea if the dress code is changed. Where will they go? Cunard? They aren't going anywhere and Silversea knows it.
  18. I believe that Silversea's "dress code" or "clothing suggestions" is vague on purpose - it has always been this way. It enables staff on board ship to have flexibility to enact or enforce as the situation dictates. Why, I don't know.

    Silversea beds

This is exactly correct - I measured them once.
  20. What cruise line allows you to play for free in the casino with OBCs?
  21. My only gripe about the Splendor is the lack of pool bar seats. During our time on board in March, there were only eight seats around a bar than can easily fit over a dozen. The current bar seats are not very sturdy and cheaply made, so we assumed that there used to be more seats and they have broken some over time. Bottom line: Regent needs to buy more (and better) seats for the pool bar.
  22. I agree 100% with this. I prefer Shadow and Whisper over the newer ships because they have a main dining room. I do not need or want all of the smaller speciality dining rooms on the newer ships where I have to decide daily where I want to eat that night.
  23. Regent will never bump anyone from a cruise without their permission. They will just keep increasing their offers with more cash/upgrades/etc until they get the right amount of volunteers to go on a different cruise. Works every time.
  24. Why, because they are taking action and fixing broken heaters?
