  1. My friends and I did the evening parade on Monday night. It did not go exactly as advertised. The bus did take us to within one block of the adults over Blake hotel. However, on leaving, the bus was a full six blocks away. We ended up calling an Uber

  3. Not new. There has been a tasting menu option for quite a while.
  4. There are a couple of difficulties with that idea. One is that when you remove the auto gratuities, it goes as a black mark against your housekeeping staff and your dining room server. You probably don’t mean to hurt them, but it does. Another difficulty is finding the people you would like to tip and then how much will you give them. The person who clears your table at ocean view café, as an example. You might have a different person every day. How do they get tipped? and finally, there is one last difficulty. As it is, all tips go into a tip pool. If you remove the auto gratuities, and you give your waiter and assistant, waiter and housekeeping staff, cash tips, they have to turn them into the pool. The only way they can keep cash tips is if you leave the auto tips in place and give them money over and above the auto tips. So in fact you’re not helping the situation at all and you’re not actually able to tip the people you want to tip.
  5. Since the sell only a limited amount of those I can’t see it making much of a difference. That lunch is already opened to back to back passengers in anddition to Concierge passengers and often there are many, many of those.
  6. I am currently on it and I have absolutely no complaints about my accommodations . My state room is fine ; everything is in good repair ; the soft furnishings in it are fine. There is the problem of the shower curtain rather than the shower doors but even that isn’t awful. my one and only complaint about the ship is that they are keeping the public rooms very very cold. Several of us talked to guest relations today about it and it seems to be better now so I have my fingers crossed for the upcoming days.
  7. Don’t make too much out of that wording. Put it in your carryon and you will be fine.
  8. It’s a two week dry dock. Not long enough to make significant changes.
  9. Despite the way that the Celebrity website and app look, on Apex, there is not early and late dining. There is only open seating. So the reservations that you think you have really don’t exist and you can go to any of the four dining rooms at any time. Don’t ask me why Celebrity can’t seem to fix this because it is a source of endless confusion

  12. that is correct. All others must pay if you are on an M or S class ship you can ask about ordering items from the MDR MENU you can also talk to the maître d’ of Blu and ask to go to Aqua or to the MDR. Definitely coordinate that with the Luminae staff.

  15. That isn’t bad practice at all. It is just good business. Just like buying remaining inventory at a department store. You can buy a new coat when they are first put out on the sales floor and the selection is good and you will pay full price. Or you can wait to the end of the season when the selection is limited and pay a sale price.
  16. The dry dock will take place in Europe. The two week time frame is not enough time for a complete refurbishment. There could be a few small changes and improvements though. As an example, Michael’s club does not currently have an espresso machine, and staff there believe that they will be getting one during the dry dock.
  17. Your TA needs some education about dining on e class ships. There is no set dining time on e class
