  1. Cabin crawls I have been on have not had gifts, though some have had cookies. The final cabin on one cabin crawl was a Royal Loft Suite that the people had their genie arrange all sorts of appetizers, fruits and desserts.
  2. I am glad you enjoyed the sandcastles. Don't look now though, there is a front end loader knocking them down and they are trucking away the sand. I am surprised they don't just spread the sand out on the beach. I know they truck in special sand for the contest, but I figured they would just mix it in. My Mom watches that webcam everyday to see what is going on at the beach.
  3. We did a 4 day cruisetour before our 7 day Radiance cruise which was in a JS. We got 22 points. You definitely should have called back or looked on the cruise line's website. It is in the below link under #18. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf
  4. You do get the extra point a night on the cruisetour if you sailed in a suite or sailed solo. I do not see cruisetours addressed in the rules for the double point promotion for c&a members. I would definitely call and question it though.
  5. My understanding of what they are saying refers to my post saying buy for the rest of the cruise when there are three or four days left.
  6. Correct but I would see what the coverage is like and if it is really worth getting. Keep an eye out for sales in your cruise planner too as it might just be cheaper to buy a single device package and share it. You can't use your diamond credit before the cruise in the cruise planner but you would still be able to use the two 24 hours on the ship. Four days at full price on the ship might be more expensive than a good sale prior to your sailing.
  7. Each diamond member gets 24 hours of free internet or a credit of one day towards a weekly package or the remainder of a weekly package. Your 24 hours start when you login for the first time, so if there are two of you, you can make that time span part of 4 days. You can easily skip the first day as you will have cellular until you leave port. If day two is a port day, I would not start the 24 hour period until after the ship leaves the port. You would then have it for that night and most of the next day. I would then spread the second person's 24 hours over two other days later in the cruise or use it towards buying a package for the last 3 or 4 days of the cruise. It really depends on whether it is a port intensive cruise or not.
  8. There is Giovanni's, Giovanni's Table and Giovanni's Wine Bar. Different venues, different offerings. Anthem has Jamie's with Vintages beside it. As far as I remember, Vintages had a full bar.
  9. OB's picture is Rhode Island. The sand sculpture competition was last weekend at Hampton Beach in NH. You can still see the sculptures on the street cam of this link. https://hamptonbeach.org/beach-cam/
  10. Exactly, it is a completely different situation.
  11. Completely different situation. Anthem sails from Cape Liberty not NYC. There is a cruise port in NYC that ships sail from, including Royal Caribbean on a very rare occasion. The Port Canaveral/Orlando thing is not a big deal at all, some just make it seem that way.
  12. It has done it on NE/Canada cruises at times. We have done Bermuda and also the Bahamas a bunch of times on Anthem and have never gone around, maybe some day lol
  13. Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, New Jersey, not NYC. It is within view of the Statue of Liberty and on a very rare occasion, the ship will take a lap around the island, but usually you just head out to see under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. It is cool going under the bridge since there isn't much clearance. Weather when we have sailed has run hot to freezing cold as we have sailed many different times from there. Seas can be rough at times, more so in winter. When are you considering sailing from there?
  14. Deck 6 has many obstructed view balcony cabins. There are also some on deck 7. Deck 13 can hear noise from the pool deck above or from Coastal Kitchen and some of the other food venues. Side of the ship isn't that big of a deal as you are going roundtrip. We have stayed on decks 7, 8, 10, 11, and 13 on that class of ship. We had noise issues on deck 13 and motion issues on deck 8 forward. We prefer to stay at or aft the aft elevators on that class of ship.
  15. There is also a parking lot across from the parking garage that is used if the garage is full.
  16. They had dueling pianos years ago on Sovereign. Not sure if it was on other ships.
  17. Anthem is definitely worth it! Have sailed Anthem many times and love the entertainment. We Will Rock You is excellent. Spectra's Cabaret is really good too. Most of the Tribute Bands we have seen have been really good too. Lots of food options, both included in your cruise fare, like Cafe at Two70 and Solarium Bistro, or at an additional cost like Chops, Jamies, and Wonderland. I can't wait for Anthem to get back to Cape Liberty.
  18. Quantum was supposed to be there today but headed to Dawes Glacier instead based on the live report. There are a bunch of pictures on another site that show the damage. It is in an area that we were lined up for the White Pass excursion last month. It is the only dock that Ovation and Quantum can use, so time will tell...
  19. I hope your son feels better soon and no one else gets it. I tested positive on Quantum in May and ended up quarantining in Seattle. My DH was negative and flew home due to work commitments. He ended up positive five days after he got home. Many on our sailing tested positive after the cruise and did not test on the ship so they could fly home. I was too sick and ended up having to go to medical. The ship is sailing full capacity and the crew is really overwhelmed because so many are in quarantine. I saw many crew down in medical that were testing positive as they were in chairs in the corridors in medical as the rooms were full.
  20. You can see the catch fence at the previous slide in this picture.
  21. We were on Quantum in Skagway on May 19. You can see Discovery Princess in this photo on the right. Quantum had just left the berth behind Discovery Princess. You can also see the area of a previous slide that now has a huge catch fence at the bottom of it. From the linked article, it looks like the middle area on the hill is what came down.
  22. She can very easily get someone else to do it for her if she is unable to carry them.
