  1. I agree, I wanted to buy something for the grands from the ship and there was absolutely nothing. Years ago I got my GD a cute little rolling mermaid backpack & there were at least a few kid related items. Now there’s nothing. Amazes me that they’d miss this marketing opportunity.
  2. Never sailed Star class but i’m thinking it would be easier to book everything for the non star class passengers then have the genie add you in to those times/activities.
  3. Yes I like jazz which is why I’m glad it can be heard in Central Park Instead of having to go down to deck 4. I see this as a perfect way to end our evenings.
  4. Us too but as we are staying on deck 8 in a couple weeks, I’m looking forward to relaxing evenings in Central Park!
  5. Gone as a venue. Jazz music will move to other, non-venue locations.
  6. Click on the little torso top right then select a different cruise right below where it shows yours. Browse our ships, click on yours & then click on the current sailing.
  7. Sorry, IMO it’s just one more thing they have to do on a busy day. Of course they will say it’s fine, they aim to please. And the fact that you gave them day 4 off has no bearing on it. If you have stuff you don’t want to take with you, throw it away yourself. I bring many toiletries that are just about used up by the end of the trip. I don’t leave them for the crew to handle. I throw them away.
  8. Have to agree here. I expect to find reasonable choices each night. I’m not a foodie, don’t expect fine dining. But if a plate is served at the wrong temp or a cut of meat is over/undercooked, I will send it back for a replacement. If enough dishes go back, it will increase costs and slow down table turning. I would do this in a land based restaurant so why would I not at sea?
  9. And that is different from just leaving things in the cabin when you disembark.
  10. Not sure why one would want to make more work for the cabin attendants. They don’t have enough to do on turn around day without adding stuff you’ve chosen to leave behind to sort through? How do they know the kids clothes are being discarded (unless like one poster, they are in the garbage can) and not simply forgotten. Here, let me take the time to put the book you left somewhere appropriate. Really?? This makes no sense to me.
  11. Not booked in GS, 2 OV Balconies and an inside. OP was referring to Guest Services.
  12. Easy to handle on board spending. Each passenger can be attached to any CC. It doesn’t matter who is in which stateroom. My son, daughter and nephew are in 1 cabin. Son & daughter are on my CC, nephew is on his father’s in a different cabin.
  13. The OP had posted about vacationing in Napa with $300 dinners so it doesn’t surprise me that Royal food doesn’t live up.
  14. Nope, never saw a line that went on forever. I walk off the ship, go through FR, grab my luggage & leave with barely a pause. Maybe I just naturally gravitate toward the short way cuz I have never paid for or shadowed a porter.
  15. I’ve never paid a porter and still have not experienced those lines.
  16. Contact Cortrans & Cruise Control Transportation. Ask about the car seats. BTW, how old are the children?
  17. You do seem to be the outlier here. And it’s not that we don’t believe you, it’s just not what any of us have experienced. Can I ask what time you typically debark?
  18. Yes, this was at Miami terminal for Explorer in October (not the big one for the Oasis class). There were agents monitoring but we did not have to interact with them. Are you an international spy????
  19. Brought us to the front of the gangway where they scan you off the ship. Luggage is also in a separate area so easier to find. IMO, it was the best Suite perk. We went from finishing CK breakfast at 8:40 to getting in the car at 9. Our last cruise was out of Miami & with facial recognition, I don’t think we broke stride going through customs.
  20. I had a cast iron stomach back in the day. Our bar drink was a Harbor Light - tequila, kahlua, 151 rum lit. Dark Heineken chasers. My head hurts just thinking about it! Now a days, by day 5 I’m toast.
  21. Have never waited that long in line. We did get escorted off once and that was heaven. But on our last cruise, we left our room just before 8, had breakfast in WJ then sat in the Royal Theater til about 9:15. Took maybe 15 minutes to clear customs & get our bags. Maybe you are just leaving at the wrong time.
