  1. In the future, know that the servers in TC are more than willing to accompany you and carry your plate, etc. They even are happy to go and grab something from the stations and bring to you.
  2. I think with the success of Aquamar and the evening pizza in Waves on Visa, they decided to redo those public areas instead of the extensive refurbish of the other cabins...,choice of where to spend time and $$$$...those refurbishments were not part of the original plan. Riviera does not have those.....
  3. Are you doing a B2B - 2 cruises with different booking numbers? We receive a separate packet for each booking number when doing a B2B.....just a thought
  4. here is a you tube of Aquamar -
  5. Here is a link to an article with more pictures, etc. - https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Healthful-breakfast-lunch-options-at-Oceania-Vista-Aquamar-Kitchen and a you tube -
  6. This is just the kitchen bar seating area, there are also tables inside and in the outer area by the windows.....menu order with servers
  7. This is just the kitchen bar sitting area...there are tables outside by the windows. You are seated, given a menu and order taken by server. Food is then brought to your table. You can mix, match, add, subtract, combine any of the offerings, We really enjoyed it on Vista and look forward to it being added to other ships
  8. A quick run up a level or two to Barristas will provide you with a made to order espresso (or any kind of coffee drink) that is outstanding.....also, if you are in a PH or above, your butler is happy to deliver your morning (or any time of the day) favorite drink from Barristas...
  9. There is a banner across the top of the O website that states the website will be down for maintenance every weekend and their website will be unavailable,
  10. I think the champagne issue is they using up an old supply and changing to new. With SM, they will be using a lot more champagne than in the past,.the wine list has been the same on Vista, Marina and Regatta when we sailed in the last year...I don't think you will see any difference
  11. O did lose those that booked Cruise Only but, unfortunately, there are few other options in cruising that do not include most or all (except Windstar). Your solution is to book land tours which works for you but not everyone wants/can book those. We find a combination of land and cruises (mostly on O) work for us. My TA, who also books a lot of O, has said the exact opposite that O bookings have increased with the SM and the number of cruises with high waitlist seem to bear that out, It is great that we all have choices and they do not need/have to be the same.
  12. I can only comment on Alaska excursions where I can compare directly the cost of excursions on O and Princess - sailed both within a 1 year period and the cost of the same excursions on both cruise lines were exactly the sane, Also, as others have stated, excursion companies in Alaska have NCC so if you are arriving via cruise ship, they will not book with you direct,. You may be able to find a company that does not do business with the various cruise lines that will book direct but they are few and far between. In Skagway, the cost of the White Horse train trip was exactly the same on their website or booking with O or Princess..,.
  13. Agree and the nice bottles of wine are on their tab not mine!
  14. Marina is going into dry-dock this month with some major renovations being done to some public spaces and upper level cabins and soft renovations being done elsewhere...
  15. Also some of those perks are also given based upon loyalty level and not which cabin you reside...
  16. But that was how you felt when, not a pervasive feeling while being onboard...again simply has to do with when you can make your reservations ahead of time - before boarding. Also, as has been said may times before, times available vary greatly depending upon if you want to share or not...we were in an A1 for our last B2B and only later times were available when our reservation window opened up for non-sharing but we were fine with that as we prefer to dine later....is there a class system in Terrace, Waves, GDR for eating or is there a class system when in the specialty restaurants while eating?
  17. The specialty restaurant earlier access is not something visible daily while onboard so, for us, does not create a "class " feeling onboard which I believe the OP was asking about...
  18. I think if you have read through many of the posts you will find there is no "class system" on O. Once you are out of your room, no one cares! I have no idea what cabin most of our friends are in onboard. The "perks" for booking in a higher cabin category are - 1) Access to the outdoor spa area in front of the spa but anyone can use for a daily fee (they simple paid for access upfront) 2) On the lager ships (Vista, Riviera and Marina) there are concierge/executive lounges for people in those cabins, There is nothing in those lounges that you cannot find anywhere on the ship. We have had access to them on several cruises and never step foot in them. 3) Earlier access and possibly more "guaranteed" reservations in the specialty restaurant but everyone receives at least one guaranteed reservation in the specialty restaurant and can check for more. You will find a welcoming atmosphere onboard for everyone and if, in a rare instance, that someone is asking/telling their cabin, we smile and move on...
  19. I can only relate to my experience - on our upcoming B2B2B, we booked the required number of excursions to receive the 25% off, the SM OBC was used first and our other OBC was also used to pay for the excursions. On 2 of the segments we still have a bit of OBC credit left and on another we owed about $20.00 pp and paid with credit card. Each person is treated individually so each would have to book the required number of excursions to receive the 25% discount but they do not have to be the same excursion. You can wait and book onboard but your choices may be sorely limited due to the excursion demand since SM, It is better to book now and then cancel and book a different excursion on board if you change your mind, Better to have something than nothing, If you want to make a change to your excursions booked prior to embarkation, it has to be done on the phone with O, not able to do online. If a port is missed, the OBC used to pay for that excursion is put back in your account to be used on another excursion (if it was SM OBC). If it was paid by SM and $$$ than the SM OBC is back in your account and the $$ is back in your account as refundable OBC.
  20. Thanks - just added to our card and will max out with final payment coming due before the expiration date!
  21. You are in for a treat with Carson's solo shows....
  22. A few days prior to disembarkation, you will receive a form to complete on requested disembarkation time, etc, You complete and return form and the last day of the cruise, a packet with your disembarkation information and bags tags included, One option is to keep your luggage with you and be responsible for disembarking with your luggage in the first group. Disembarkation is then done by calling out colored bag tags (which coincide with a specific timeframe). In theory this works but in reality people ignore their bag colors and show up/line up to disembark when they want which can cause long lines. They ask that you vacate your cabin no later than 8AM so the cabin stewards can prepare the room for the embarking people.
  23. Those listed under Wine are included in SM DESSERT & FORTIFIED Cantina di Soave Le Poesie Recioto di Soave Classico DOCG, Veneto, Italy Château des Ormes, Sauternes, France Fonseca Late Bottled Vintage Port, Oporto, Portugal Croft Ruby Port Croft Tawny Port
  24. I have sent out a bag with delicates and written cold wash and low temp dry (large black letters, circled and with stars around!) and they have come back just fine.....t
