  1. Not to mention surge pricing of up to 10x the normal rate.
  2. The only thing better would be to eliminate it entirely. Luxury lines should not have casinos.
  3. Xpedition is deinitely the way to go since the ship was designed for twice as many passengers as they're allowed to carry. After speaking with the guides, they do not recommend Flora because everything takes so much longer.
  4. Our plan is to spend a few days in Amsterdam before hopping over. The timings of the flights require an overnight in Southampton on the outbound and an overnight in either Sathampton or Amsterdam on the return, but I'm not worried about those.
  5. We have some cruises out of Southampton coming up next year, and I have no real desire to go through any of the London airports. Has anyone here flown into and out of Southampton airport? If so, what was the experience like?
  6. You can, you just wouldn't get the World Club benefit.
  7. Google Voice is also wonderful for those who do not want to be under Meta's thumb.
  8. Yes, they're just different from yours. Please don't assume that your country is the gold standard, because you will be wrong in the eyes of most of the world. Most U.S. companies operate as "at will" employers, which means that either side may terminate the employment relationship for any reason at any time without notice. If the termination is not "for cause" (basically criminal behaviour or egregious malfeasance), the employee is legally entitled to termination benefits, which can be substantial for someone with years of experience. I know people who have received over two years of salary and benefits for being layed off.
  9. Diet Coke in Canada tastes like moose urine (as opposed to the U.S. version which tastes like bison urine).
  10. Cunard will specify the food choices available on the charter. Whatever Tui provides on their own flights is irrelevant.
  11. That's a very North American perspective. In much of the world, you pay different prices based on occupancy.
  12. Address is not necessary (my brokerage statement doesn't show it on the position page), but the statement date is.
  13. Slight correction. We actually got more OBC than promised. $720 for an 11-day and $1,045 for a 16-day.
  14. There was plenty on the Fantasia.
  15. In what universe would you assume there is supposed to be any sort of equality? It's an incentive program, not a redistributon of wealth.
  16. Sorry your friend had to learn the hard lesson never to purchase insurance from or through a cruise line. We had a similar situation (though my wife only had pneumonia and not a stroke), and we were fully covered through her Chase Sapphire card. Note that California does have better consumer protection than most of the rest of the U.S., so I would consider getting a free 30-minute consultation through your county's Lawyer Referral Service (every county has one).
  17. Yes. I have two standard fares booked now with the full OBC.
  18. The key to any dancing, especially ballroom, is adaptability. Otherwise, you could just dance to a metronome.
  19. That's not what the Retreat is. It's nothing like the true SWS offerings like Yacht Club.
  20. Note that the logging out part is completely unnecessary. As soon as you activate a second device, the first is automatically disconnected.
  21. It depends on the music. I highly recommend Night Club Two Step for the slower songs, and rumba frequently works. There is virtually nothing that's not danceable. We frequently dance ballroom/Latin (including waltz, foxtrot, rumba, cha-cha-cha) to Pink Floyd. Argentine Tango is also famously adaptable and can be danced to virtually anything. For example, we don't really like Viennese Waltz, so you will see us dancing tango vals instead. For a real treat, try dancing to some music in 5/4 or 7/4 time.
