  1. On Celebrity we always book Aqua class, which gives us access to their version of the Reserve dining room and it ALWAYS says early dining (MDR) on our reservation. I know now to just ignore it because once on the ship everything works fine. I have a feeling the same thing will happen once we all sail. At the entrance to the dining room the first night they will ask your name and cabin number and then after that will recognize you. No problems!
  2. Have you ever stayed at either the Marriott or Margaritaville resort in January? We're thinking of going there as a quick winter getaway vacation and I'm concerned it will be cold.
  3. We're on that cruise too! 😁 We're also on the cruise before it. One in a reserve mini and one in a suite. Do we make dinner reservations or are those two dining rooms walk-in only? (In the past reserve was walk-in)
  4. I didn't want a cabana cabin initially but that couch in the cabana is looking pretty attractive right now!~
  5. That's what I was afraid of. 😞 They look like sit up straight and lean a little forward only. 😞 Not how we usually sit on our balcony. 😞
  6. I would imagine that the collaborations with the artist AND the chef have cost a pretty penny.
  7. Thanks so much for posting. I WAS really excited about the new ship but after viewing the video I have to say I'm disappointed about the cabins. They all look pretty small (including the suite) and the chairs on the balcony look very uncomfortable. I'm trying very hard to reserve judgement until we hear back from the first passengers, though.
  8. @dides - Thanks - that's what I thought but was hoping I was wrong. 😞
  9. What level of suite are cabins 09361 and 09358? They seem to be the only cabins will a real aft view. Also, those balcony chairs look AWFUL!!! We like to relax on the balcony and the old chairs reclined - these are stiff and straight up. 😡
  10. I'm (still) confused about the cabana cabins. I thought that the balconies on the cabana decks were all open to each other so no real privacy. This photo appears to have the metal dividers on the balcony go all the way to the railing as on all other Princess balconies.
  11. Have you seen any of the balconies on Celebrity's new Edge class ships?
  12. On the plus side - I'm happy to see the glass enclosed shower instead of the awful curtain.
  13. That bathroom looks lovely but there is absolutely NO storage. There are no drawers and the three minuscule shelves have now been reduced to one.
  14. We are currently on the Sapphire and have been sailing for the last month. There are 7 vegan menus and nothing has changed on any of the menus. On the regular menu we haven't received the same menu twice. Some items repeat but the presentation, sauces and menu items have been different every day. Also, my husband noticed the disclaimer in the small print at the bottom of the vegan menu last night. 🤔 And, yes, @LidoLiz - there seems to be just one tomato sauce for the pasta no matter how it's described. It's good but it definitely is always the same.
  15. This certainly looks like at least part of the running track will be over the Sanctuary. I'm not sure how "serene" it will be to have pounding feet overhead. Reports from the first cruisers will be eagerly awaited. We were thinking of booking a suite on the Sun but the Signature part of the Sanctuary doesn't look large enough to accommodate all of the suites. Part of what we like about reserving a lounger in the Sanctuary is not having to get up early to find a quiet chair in the shade every day and I'm afraid being in the suite area we will lose that assigned lounger we get in the regular Sanctuary. EDIT: Looking at he mockup above. NONE of the Reserve part of the Sanctuary will be in shade!!! Goodbye suite!
  16. I also had questions about how the Signature Sun Deck will work within or near or part of the Sanctuary. We're currently on the Sapphire and I've asked the future cruise person on here but so far no answers.. I haven't looked at the deck plans but when you say "wake view" - have they moved the Sanctuary to the rear of the ship?
  17. I think a lot of these comments are also just personal experience. We are currently on the Sapphire and loving it. I'm thinking she's my favorite Princess ship right now. I find the crew (including the captain) to be engaging, the entertainment (other than the kind of weak main theater shows) to be plentiful , varying and talented all around the various venues on the ship. The food isn't gourmet but a least the kitchen is using a little spice this time. I also LOVE the full promenade deck and all of the nooks and crannies and spaces around the ship to sit and have some quiet, relaxing time away from crowds. However, yesterday on the tender back to the ship we sat next to a very friendly gentleman who said he'd never sail on the Sapphire again. He didn't have one nice thing to say about anything on the ship.He didn't seem to be just a grump who wouldn't like anything so, as I said, I guess everything is subjective.
  18. Agree - I'm sitting on our aft balcony right now as I write this! We had to book it the day the cruise came out - which means Princess should know how popular these balconies are! 😪
  19. We're currently on the Sapphire and booked a cruise on the Sun. I was told by the future cruises person that there are no aft balcony cabins on the Sun. Is that accurate? Also any info on the regular Reserve mini suite balconies?
  20. Hi V Just found this. Interesting to read the perspective from a younger and first time Princess cruier. Yes, the showers and steam rooms are available for anyone. We are longtime Princess and Celebrity cruisers. Yes, we miss the couch in the Celebrity cabins but feel the nice closet/dressing area on Princess more than makes up for that. As far as food - first of all we sail in Aqua on X and we're pescatarian/vegans (me pescatarian, husband vegan) so we can't really compare. I also find the crew on Princess to be slightly friendlier and more personable FWIW. We also find longer and more interesting itineraries (like this one) on Princess.
  21. On our last Delta flight I booked as Hindu (which is basically the same as the ovo-lacto) and it was delicious. Try that if it's available.
  22. No menu that I've seen (even on the app it still says Charcuterie board). I found out about it from the "Wake Show" announcement from the cruise director.
  23. We're currently on the Sapphire. Vines has changed it's casual dining option to a Sushi Platter available from 12 - 1:30. I had it last week. It was wonderful!!! 8 pieces of spicy tuna roll, 2 tuna sashimi, 2 salmon sashimi, small bowl of seaweed salad, small bowl of (really delicious!) edamame, small bowl of pickled vegetables and a shrimp sashimi. It was a large lunch but I plan to have it again and wouldn't mind paying the $14.99 even after our included meals are used.
  24. The veggie burger on Princess has always been awful and hasn’t gotten any better. I think on some ships you can order a Beyond Meat Burger in the Salty Dog for a charge. Nothing like that on the Sapphire.
