  1. Short answer is no. Future Cruise deposits are charged directly to the credit card you have on file for the cruise.
  2. And herein is the problem - one has absolutely no idea of what will happen if testing positive. The OP was in a Celebrity Suite and moved to an OV and your friend was allowed to stay in their cabin. So besides not following their own supposed protocol about masking - Celebrity also seems to not even have a protocol for isolating should you become sick from the first problem.
  3. After reading stories like quicklab's I understand but I hope you'll at least quarantine yourself in your cabin and not just walk around the ship.
  4. You're not a sap. hopefully most people in the world are honest. You had no way of knowing in advance that Celebrity would treat you so badly.. I'm not on Twitter or Facebook but I hear that posting on there gets results because Celebrity monitors them and cares about their image. If someone reading this thread could post about quicklabs terrible treatment maybe she could get some relief (as in getting moved back to her now empty suite)
  5. I don't think she EVER even insinuated that the issue should go to the captain. She did say it should have been escalated to the Food and Beverage Manager, which seems totally appropriate. She wasn't looking for compensation - rather she wanted assurance that this wouldn't happen again. The poster earlier who is a physician said that after she saw an injury from a metal brush she went home and threw out her metal brushes - I think that might have been the response Dani was looking for. And to Dani - thanks for the review. I don't think the E-class is for us either. My husband is a vegan and I don't eat meat or seafood so all those restaurants are meaningless to us. We cruise for the sea and all of those indoor spaces just don't provide that. And, BTW, your English is great!!!
  6. I also think that to be taken from a Celebrity Suite to an OV is unacceptable. I am really sorry you're sick and even sorrier this happened to you! Someone earlier in the year reported that she had claustrophobia and refused the inside cabin and was moved to a balcony. It certainly sounds like, while you may not actually have claustrophobia, you are experiencing mental anguish and I don't think you should be as accepting as you have been to your accommodations. We also will continue to cancel future cruises until we're sure that , if sick, we can either remain in our booked cabin or, at the least, be moved to something with a balcony. I don't agree that everyone knows they'll be moved to deck three. Lots of reports of people being moved to balcony cabins. (And some even getting to stay in their own cabins) It does however seem to vary by ship and even by sailing. Someone posted a thread about a month ago trying to determine what would happen if they got Covid on their cruise and they got multiple different responses. If Celebrity wants people to feel confident booking and sailing I think they need to put out a fleet wide statement of what will happen if one tests positive during a cruise. (And then stick to it!)
  7. Where inside the luggage would it impact the efficiency?
  8. They have one "special" salad a day plus the always available Caesar salad. You can order a double portion or an entree size portion .
  9. They ask that you give them 6 hours notice to order the tea to your stateroom. And, if yours is anything like ours it'll be enough food for the rest of the cruise!
  10. Got this in an email from Celebrity today. As a valued Elite Plus Captain’s Club member, you can enjoy 15% savings when you purchase the Classic or Premium drink package or 20% savings when you upgrade from Classic to Premium. Call 1-800-722-5941 to redeem your savings. So that $18 becomes $14.40 with 20% off, which is STILL more than $11.80. I mistakenly upgraded the package (it's a long story) on one of our 2023 cruises last year at the $11.80 price so it looks like I got a bargain. I hope they'll honor it.
  11. Sounds like you've been spoiled (as have I !!) by some really outstanding crew. Doesn't happen on every cruise - even pre-Covid. I also love the crew talent show and hope they bring that back. I do have to say that we also cruise on Celebrity and, while there are some nice things about that line, the entertainment never matches up to the quality and quantity on Princess. I We were on the CB is early January and got those soggy canapes. The chocolates look MUCH better! Blue bag was in the closet as you described. Easily missed.
  12. Is this a cruise from an Australian port or an American one? Thanks
  13. The upgrade used to cost us (precruise) $10+18%=so $11.80/day to upgrade to Premium. We're Elite Plus so now get 15% but if the current upgrade price is $15 ($69 to $84) then 15% off of that is $12.75/pp/day + 18%. So the percentage went up but the price went up more to offset it? How is that a good thing? EDIT: And now I found this: How much is it to upgrade from classic to premium drink package on celebrity? The upgrade charge will be $18 per person per day which includes the beverage gratuity. Guests may not purchase a beverage upgrade before final payment when they book Always Included. Alternatively, guests may also upgrade their beverage package from Classic to Premium once onboard the ship. This is from FAQ on Celebrity.com https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/always-included
  14. I understand your wanting to have some idea of what would happen in advance but I have to tell you that, after reading of various people's experiences contracting Covid on board you need to know that nothing is guaranteed. I've read of people allowed to stay on board, people forced to disembark, allowed to stay in their cabin, forced to move to a less desirable cabin, being very well taken care of by the medical center and room service and being totally forgotten and not able to get hold of anyone. Asking in advance is a normal precaution but hard to count on anything.Things seem to be VERY fluid right now. My only advice is to bring medication and cosmetics for at least double the time you're cruising. I wish you lots of luck!!!! (Best case scenario is you'll never need to know what would have happened had you tested positive.)
  15. If you're sailing with kids and if the weather is good there's a kids water play area on the aft of Deck 16 or 17 that no other Princess ship has. It's adjacent to a hot tub and a bar to keep the adults happy. Ye, we missed Alfredos and yes, the buffet is small but it has a lovely Vines that is missing in some of the newer ships.
  16. Charla Long time no posts. I hope it's just that you're busy catching up on work and laundry and that everything is fine!
