  1. I've never cruised solo but I SO get what you mean about not meeting anyone else's needs for a whole week!!! Speaking of other's needs - my husband is a vegan and we cruise in Aqua so we never book any of the specialty restaurants anymore but that goat cheese salad and that limoncello cheesecake look UNBELIEVABLE!!! (Blu , I think, shares a kitchen with Tuscan so I'm wondering if a nice size tip might make those two available 🤔)
  2. There are 4 of us. Can we take one golf cart or do we need two?
  3. What is Dream Cruises and where can I find it? LOVE to watch anything about cruising!!! And by all means do the Helipad sailaway. (You don't really need closed toed shoes (Sh-h-h , don't tell anyone.) It's a lot of fun and you can nap when you get home!
  4. I have kind of a different question about ArriveCan. We are driving to Canada in order to board an Air Canada flight to another country. (We live in Michigan and for some reason it's less expensive to fly overseas out of Windsor than Detroit) We are also double boosted and I thought we didn't need a negative Covid test to do this. Was your test needed for the cruise or for entering Canada. (And I do agree that calling them can be frustrating!!!!!!)
  5. We've also had that cabin several times for Panama Canal cruises. Neighbors only on one side. I think I could easily live in that cabin for two years!
  6. SomewhereGirl answered this but I think the question was asked of the OP - Jmox84. I, too, wondered why, if they had a PVP, they didn't call them first.
  7. I wonder if AA is similar to the cruise lines in that if you get a phone rep who can't accommodate, you should hang up and try calling again. So I just wonder if that person just happened to get an agent with misinformation. Did anyone on that other board suggest that to them?
  8. Jim Weren't the Butler, Stateroom Attendant and Sommelier wearing masks ALL of the time? I really thought double masking (you and them) offered protection. 😪
  9. Call back. I , like many on here, have had the experience of getting a phone rep who says something is impossible and then calling back and getting exactly what we requested the first time. Just remember the “spoon full of sugar” attitude!
  10. Before you totally cancel this "upgrade" know that you can move to any mini suite that is the same category cabin as the one they gave you. Try to find an available cabin in your category before you call Princess and ask them to move you to that one. A mini will give you a little more room than the balcony cabin and it will also have a bathtub.which might make bathing the children easier than the tiny shower in the balcony cabin. Also, the crew usually helps move all of your things. It's pretty painless.
  11. I think I would amend your last statement to "blame a passenger on Princess" I am pretty sure the cruise line itself really hopes there aren't any infections.
  12. 13. We haven't been to Fiji (but would love to go!) but years ago, when the Princess small ships did alternating 10 day Cook Island, then Marquesas, trips we did them twice. The Marquesas are very different than the Cooks (Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora). Lots of archeological sites to visit. I did a lot of research in advance to find out what I wanted to visit and what private tours were recommended but we loved those trips ! You have to love the tropics and beaches - there are no museums and no big cities. 2022 doesn't work for us but if they do this itinerary again next year we'll definitely be looking at it!!!
  14. I just looked at your itinerary and would also love to hear what you think of Holland America. The itinerary is really, really good and has Fiji and the Marquesas included. It sounds like a fabulous cruise! We've pretty much stuck to Princess and Celebrity (and a couple of Disney with the grandkids) but it might be time to start looking at something else.
  15. Oh Tracie - So sorry to hear you're sick. If you can get Paxlovid you should take it. It'll shorten your illness by a lot. I'm sure you're grateful to be in your own home. Wishing you a really speedy recovery. I do have to tell you that, minus the cough, those are exactly the side effects I got from the vaccine and boosters! Only lasted two days so I hope the same will be true for you.
  16. For tips on the ship US$ but we found that , while almost everyone in Tahiti would take US$, things were significantly less expensive if we paid in Tahitian dollars. We found a money exchange in our city and took some. If you're not planning on any major purchases (black pearls or other jewelry) it might not be worth the trouble though.
  17. We have future b2b2b2b - 10,9,9,10 So how do they calculate that? (We have been given nothing so far so I just want to know what I should be asking for. Thanks!
  18. Me neither but I did sit next to a gentleman (who posts on here frequently, btw) who ordered a drink and was told by the bartender "Sorry, that would be number 16". His response was that it was obviously time to switch to water! 😁 The one nice thing about the (what I consider high) limit of 15 is that you can try something new and if you don't like it, just don't finish it.
  19. It's 15 alcoholic drinks per day per person. No limit on non alcoholic drinks at all.
  20. Yes - they've eliminated Bora Bora - which we loved. 😪 It looks like three days in Papeete instead. 😪 It looks like Moorea is still on - it seemed smaller than Bora Bora so not sure why that choice was made. We didn't dock in either port . Both were tender ports.
  21. Quick question about B429 - was the balcony covered at all? Thanks!
  22. We've done this cruise twice. Once in November and once in February. (And I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!) Weather was similar on both. We LOVED the sea days but only you can judge if it'll work for you.
  23. I also wondered what kind of masks those who tested positive wore and how they wore them. I'm asking this because a couple of days ago we went to a local Urgent Care to get tested because our daughter, who had come to visit, came down with Covid two days after she arrived. While in the Urgent Care two women came in with paper masks down under their noses to also get tested. (We were wearing N95s!) They were both coughing and sneezing and refused to pull the masks up over their noses (I was more worried about getting Covid from them than from our daughter) If someone had asked those women their response would have been that they were wearing masks...... (We were, and so far remain, negative)
