  1. Thanks Jim. Just clarifying that the negative spouse was given the choice to isolate in the original cabin with the sick spouse or move to an inside cabin and still be able to go about normal activities around the ship. Were they at least asked to mask? (Which I would do anyways)
  2. My husband took it and didn't rebound but I think he took it either very close to the end of that 5 day window or maybe after. He didn't end up in the hospital (with some pre-existing conditions that might have led to that ) so something worked!
  3. For recent cruisers. Has Celebrity changed it's Covid protocols to allow sick cruisers to remain in their own cabin? Also I haven't seen any mention of whether Paxlovid is available in the medical facility. Just trying to prepare for worst case scenario. Thanks!
  4. OH - It looks from your photos like they've ruined two of my favorites! 😪 Maybe it's a good thing - I'll finally come home from a cruise without a 10 lb. weight gain.
  5. @PORT ROYAL - You seem to be very knowledgeable about Antigua. We are vegans so most restaurants are not worth trying but we'd like an upscale beach and don't mind paying for drinks (or lunch if they actually had something we could eat). Also, our experience with Antigua is most beaches have drop-offs just as you enter the water - is that the case with the ones you've recommended above?
  6. My husband is vegan and I'm vegetarian. I always find plenty to eat but it's harder for him. We've found, as @Ladyshopper23 says, that the dining staff is happy to try to make anything you request, so think of things you might like. They really appreciate reasonable suggestions!
  7. Sailings from some locations have gratuity included. So a $9 drink + 20% would be $10.80. They just rounded it to $11. If you were in the Caribbean that same $11 drink would have been $9.
  8. We like most of the food on Princess but I agree, the veggie burger is disgusting. There was a veggie taco option poolside on our last cruise that was good, though. (FWIW - Celebrity has a really good veggie burger in their outdoor grill)
  9. I think that's accurate. OP would be better off trading the first mini bar for Perrier and paying for coffee for those 5 days and then trading the next 2 min bars for the coffee cards. Once you have the Perrier they're yours, the coffe card is only for the CURRENT cruise.
  10. That ferry used to take you to several nice (but small) beaches. Haven't been there since the hurricane so I don't know if the beaches were affected.
  11. @pickypickyHowever - I think the rep in your case was correct. The Elite discount is 10% both for getting the package and for upgrading. The Classic is $69/pp/day and the premium is $84/pp/day. (both prices were recently raised. The upgrade used to be, with the discount, $10.80/pp/day if booked precruise). So the upgrade is now $15 plus 20% gratuity. Elite upgrade with discount and gratuity should be $13.50 + $2.70 - around $16.20 Elite Plus upgrade should be $12.75 + 2.55 or around $15.30 ELITE | 300-749 CLUB POINTS MANY OF THE BENEFITS OF SELECT MEMBERSHIP PLUS: For our Elite guests, we’ve reserved some of the most sought-after benefits including complimentary laundry, internet benefits, and access to complimentary drinks from the Captain’s Club menu between 5pm-7pm. • Access to Captain’s Club Coffee Lounge for daily coffee house style breakfast • Unlimited complimentary drinks from the Captain’s Club menu at most bars and lounges throughout the ship daily, between 5pm-7pm • 30% off Wifi Packages and upgrades, plus 90 complimentary stream minutes • 40% discount on any digital or print photo package at the Photo Gallery • $200 off The Studio photo packages • Complimentary access to Persian Garden on one port day of your choice while ship is in port. 12. This is another case of HUCA (Hang up call again). It's a very important thing to know when speaking to cruise line phone reps! The person and the "supervisor" were wrong. I copied the Elite Plus benefits below. The Elite discount is 10% off the package and 10% off the upgrade. https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/captains-club-tiers-and-benefits-chart.pdf ELITE PLUS | 750-2,999 CLUB POINTS MANY OF THE BENEFITS OF ELITE MEMBERSHIP PLUS: In recognition of our most devoted Elite members, we’ve created Elite Plus to deliver a higher level of recognition with even greater benefits, including specialty dining discounts, additional laundry benefits, and more. • Two complimentary bags of laundry on every sailing (wash, dry, fold) • 15% discount on specialty dining cover charge • 35% off Wifi Packages and upgrades, plus 240 complimentary stream minutes • 15% discount at The Spa (excludes MedSpa and retail) • 40% discount on any digital or print photo package • $250 off The Studio photo packages • 20% discount on drink package or 15% discount on premium drink package upgrade when purchased pre-cruise • Complimentary cappuccino, latte, espresso, and tea throu
  13. Was this a while ago? The charge to upgrade was around $9 (with gratuity it was $10.80) last year but has been raised recently.
  14. We always do that but I've found it means next to nothing once we're on board. Someone from Princess' special services department used to call to verify but they haven't done that in years. Still, it can't hurt. On a side note - Shelly97060 - how do you get the @screenname feature to work?
  15. I would recommend meeting with your dining room manager the first day and explaining exactly what you've told us. Make sure he (or she) knows everything that is being served to your grandson. The waiters mean well but many just aren't that aware. I would also recommend NOT eating ashore. Your staff there will most likely have English as a second language and may not comprehend the seriousness of his allergy.
  16. The vegetarian menu posted above is for the MDR. It has 14 days of different meals!
  17. We haven't sailed on the Constellation but I think I remember that on that class of ship the Blu kitchen is right next to the MDR kitchen. On the S class the Blu kitchen is far away from the MDR kitchen so it means the waiter would have a long walk to get anything from the MDR. I am vegetarian and have always found something on the Blu menu that works but my husband is a vegan and , in the past, has always had to have special meals made. We usually order for him the night before (so the waiter doesn't have to leave in the middle of dinner service to get his meal) but the success in his meals usually depends, as I previously said, on our waiter and the Blu dining room manager. So it would be nice to have vegan options on a menu so we didn't have to depend on how good the crew is on our cruise. And to Scottishclover - Our next cruise isn't until 2023 , but when I look at menus in the App there is nothing beyond the kids menu in the MDR and, in Blu, there isn't even a kids menu at all. Maybe the cruise is too far in the future.
  18. Just checked. Found menus but nothing about vegetarian.
  19. I am printing out the vegetarian portion of the menu and will bring it with me. Just hoping - not counting on anything. Our past experiences REALLY vary according to the waiter and the Blu dining room manager. Am hoping the menu might be helpful to the less creative staff.
  20. Just curious - did they offer you a discount for upgrading?
  21. Nice to see that there would actually be different choices for 2 solid weeks! Hoping we can get this in Blu - part of the reason we book Aqua is in hopes that the smaller dining room is more easily available to accommodate special requests.
  22. You can absolutely make French Onion soup vegetarian (I have done it) but in this case I might ask to speak to a dining room manager. Often the waiters might not know ingredients. We are vegan/vegetarian so I'm really familiar with dealing with this. If there really is a menu that changes nightly I would be beyond thrilled!!!
  23. Daniel - Many threads go (WAY) off original topic. 🤣🤣🤣 And- FWIW- I don't think Princess has gone downhill any more than any other cruiseline. There are, unfortunately, cuts everywhere. However, attitudes toward smoking have changed drastically since 1965 and maybe keeping up with current thinking about health would be advantageous.
