  1. Other lines have reported this practice for Greece. EM
  2. I presume they have learned how to work the elevators…
  3. What type device were you using before you tried the app? I was working on an iPad in Safari. No go. Then went to the app, and it kept sending me in circles. So I went back to the iPad but opened up chrome. Login, etc went fine. EM
  4. One hump or two? EM
  5. They used to have a lot of games in the cases in the library on Fantasy class. Some of the ships used to have a giant chess board on one of the upper decks…but I could be confusing that with other lines. EM
  6. P&O and Princess were pretty much one line when they were absorbed by Carnival..which incidentally was announced while I was sailing on the inaugural cruise of Star Princess in 2002. Singapore to LA. Loyalty points were shared by the two lines. In fact, it has only been in the last few years that that sharing ceased, at least with P&O-UK. And though they may be a ‘new’ class of ship within the Carnival brand, ships of that class still sail from North America. Caribbean Princess is the Golden and Star with another deck added, and has the Skywalkers lounge - the shopping cart handle - off the back. Ruby, Emerald, and Crown are the same ship without the handle. It’s too bad the Pacific Explorer (former Dawn Princess) is a 1997 build. She is the right size to fit into the Fantasy class ports, and was built with balconies, rather than having them tacked on. EM
  7. I believe Aurea dines in Manhattan restaurant on Seashore. EM
  8. At St. Maarten take the water taxi to the boardwalk. Beach and restaurants right there. EM
  9. Go to Amazon and type in EU outlet adapter. Any one will do. Just make sure whatever you plan to plug into it is dual voltage. EM
  10. Its just that their elevators don’t go to the top…
  11. Princess grand class does. HAL ships up through Nieuw Amsterdam. Crystal ships (at least Serenity). Carnival Dream and Vista classes. All Cunard ships. EM
  12. It’s a 4 day with Ocean Cay and Nassau. From Port Canaveral. EM
  13. Y cabin assignment came at 31 days out, OC Bella gty to balcony. I checked in the next day, day 30. I have had offers to bid for further upgrade, but not interested. EM
  14. Ahhh…different side of the pond…EM
  15. Falmouth? I didn’t know anyone tendered at Falmouth. Built for big ships of Royal, I was there on Celebrity. EM
  16. Covered here frequently. Carnival won’t budge. The excursion companies insurance company sets the rules. Maybe you can find a similar independent excursion that will allow. EM
  17. I am of the school that says for perhaps your only cruise to Alaska you should sail on an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay. The major lines that visit there are Princess, HAL and NCL. Why Glacier Bay, you ask? The other glaciers that appear on itineraries are often missed due to ice, but I cannot remember hearing a ship missing Glacier Bay. Hubbard Glacier is equally impressive, but it can be missed, primarily due to fog. Alaska should be for the itinerary, cruise line perks secondary unless you are traveling with children. You also need to decide if you want to sail round trip from Seattle or one way from Vancouver. I would go to cruisetimetables.com and put in Glacier Bay in ‘cruises to…’. It will tell you who calls there and their itineraries. There is also lots of good advice and experience on the Alaska board here under Ports of Call. EM
  18. And there are those who think they got a scoop, only to find the topic was covered three days before and is not on the bottom of page 2. EM
  19. Clear today…the match with Djokovic did not end until 0308 Paris time, which is 9:08 EDT. EM
  20. Perhaps a crazy question, but do they ever offer henna tattoos? EM
  21. Paris has been inundated with rain so it’s quite possible they were playing past midnight. EM
  22. No. Has to be cans. No bottles allowed. EM
  23. Possibly only one gala/elegant night. There will always be a white night. Tropical night. 60-70-80-90s. Casual nights. This is from Seashore in Dec. EM
