  1. Believe Club Class is the deciding feature for the poster. The only way to get Club Class is to book one of the Club Class mini suites or a full suite. Don't believe the poster is interested in an inside cabin.
  2. There are the mid port piers and the north port piers. One of the ships, probably the Sky, will be at pier 2. at the north port. Probably the Sky because it is sailing repeat 7 day cruises throughout the season. The other ship will most likely be at one of the mid port piers. When it is closer to the sailing date you can find the pier assignments on the Port Everglades web site. There could possibly be a parking deck shuttle between between the north port parking deck, Heron, and the mid port parking deck, Palm. This is operated by the piers. Princess staff may not be aware of any shuttle, but you can ask. If not then you just have to take a taxi. It is a min. fare and it would be nice to offer a larger gratuity to the driver. It really isn't advisable to try and walk. Someone mentioned pier 4. Pier 4 is perpendicular to pier 2 and just a few minutes walk. from pier 2. I don't know if the large ships Sky and Enchanted can fit at the same time in both of these berths. I don't think so. https://www.porteverglades.net/cruise/cruise-terminals/
  3. Yes, 9ftx6ft uncovered. In my opinion the uncovered balcony isn't a big issue. It's not like your in the Caribbean tropics. Alaska sun is at a lower angle. Lots of the time you probably will have some sort of sweater or jacket on. If you wish to have Club Class dining, a nice benefit, you must book one of these deck 9 Club Class cabins. There is no other choice.
  4. There is nothing special. One DR is open to all passengers, usually noon to 1:30. Food venues such as the International Cafe, Poolside Grill & Pizza, Alfredo's will be open usually starting at 11am. If you are speaking about a turn around at a U.S. port then if you wish to stay on board you will meet at the designated location around 9:30/10am, follow the instructions. You will then be escorted off the ship, through immigration and once all passengers disembark back on the ship. If you are in the same cabin your cabin is normally accessible like any other day. There may be some exceptions. If you are changing cabins your cabin might not be ready until noon or so. You will also have the option to exit the ship, go through immigration, tour around and then re-board once general boarding has begun.
  5. Each of your accounts will start out with a net credit balance. As you spend money on board those charges will net against the credit balance. The system first deducts from the non-refundable credit then the refundable. Whatever refundable credit remains when you disembark will be refunded to you. Refunds are normally by check in a plain envelope, looks like junk mail, and arrives maybe 6 weeks after disembarkation. Check your accounts each day to be sure all is well. It is way easier to correct errors when on board than after you disembark.
  6. You will have two coffee packages with 15 specialty coffees each. If you are a solo passenger both will be on your account. If there are two of you the each will receive a coffee package. The way it has worked in the past is that unused specialty coffees carry over, but the free brewed coffee & tea did not. Regarding wine. Probably yes. Give it a try. You are only out $20 if you are denied.
  7. "I am assuming we can’t spend that obc on anything else. Am I correct? " It will just be ordinary OBC posted to your onboard account. Any on board expense will net against the credit balance.
  8. There are 34 Reserve Collection mini suites on the Crown Princess, 17 port and 17 starboard. Reserve minis are the new name for Club Class. For information all categories of mini suites have the same interior layout. In the main bed area there is the option of having the bed in the queen configuration or the twin configuration. In your case I assume you want the twin set up. If not set up correctly when you board just ask the cabin steward to change it. The 3rd berth is a 3 seat convertible sofa. Believe on the Crown Princess it pulls out, but not certain. Someone should have a photo. Don't quite understand why only a few cabins allow you to book a 3rd person. All mini suites, reserve and otherwise, have the sofa as a 3rd berth, and a few minis have a 4th berth. Reserve Collection main benefit is club class dining. Only passengers actually booked in a reserve mini or full suite are permitted to dine in the club class section of the DR. Assuming that is why you are looking at a reserve mini.
  9. These are probably the leftovers from the time tumblers were provided with the soda and coffee packages.
  10. Some ideas to see Fort Lauderdale on your own. As a b2b passenger you can leave the ship anytime after disembarkation has begun and return anytime after general boarding has begun up until final boarding time. You have to bring your passport, medallion and intransit card with you. If you wish to walk around the downtown beach area you can take a taxi/Uber there. It's a fairly short ride. There are lots of sidewalk restaurants along the beach area. There is also the Water Taxi. Assuming the ship is at pier two you can walk to the nearest water stop by the Hilton Marina hotel. Schedules are on line. The Sun Trolley has a number of routes and stops along the way. There is a stop right near the pier on SE 17th St. You can stroll up SE 17th St. There are shops a few restaurants and a shopping center behind the Embassy Suites hotel.
  11. Yes. Bottles brought on without charge are for consumption in your cabin. If you carry the bottle to the DR you are supposed to be charge the $20 corkage. You are also supposed to be charged if you bring the bottle to any public are, example a lounge. What many people do is pout the wine into the glass and then carry the glass to the DR.
  12. I would doubt it very much if there was any kind of shuttle. There is no reason to have a shuttle as you are probably the only one or one of the very few that require this service. I would plan on a taxi or Uber. Without traffic it is probably something like a 40/45 minute transfer. Yes, Princess does use the Red Hook cruise terminal in Brooklyn.
  13. All ships to date do not have a separate pool area for full suite passengers. The Sun Princess, coming in the future appears to have some separate lounging areas and a separate DR for full suite passengers. Personally I am not a fan of this concept.
  14. Island Princess. If you search the Princess.com deck plans you will locate B1 and B2 "premium" balcony cabins on deck 10 mid ship. These cabins have larger partially balconies. Interiors of all balcony cat. cabins are the same except when noted in red print on the Princess web site. This site may also help. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/Princess/odell/res76zxu/princessbalconies/id3.html
  15. All DRs have the same menu. It's really location. We prefer location the mid ship DRs as they are closer to the activities and easier to walk to and from. No discounts on multiple specialty restaurant reservations. Formal night. It will not be the 1st or last evening. That leaves evenings 2, 3 & 4, assuming they actually have a formal night. If you are sailing on May 27th then the formal night will most likely be the 30th when the ship sails from Cabo at noon. If you are sailing on July 1st then the formal night would probably be on the sea day 7/3.
  16. On the Emerald Princess if you wish to have a sitting area you have to book either a mini suite or a full suite. Balcony staterooms do not have a sitting area. On the Emerald Princess ALL mini suites are located on deck 9. They all have a three seat sofa. The balcony is 9ft x 6ft and uncovered. The bathroom is a tub shower combo. There is a fairly high step-over to enter the tub/shower. Balcony cabins on deck 15 as well as decks 12, & 11 have a 9ft x 5ft covered balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. Balcony cabins on deck 10 have a 9ft x 9ft balcony which is half covered. These are the cabins we preferred on Grand Class ships. I can't comment on upper decks being close to the pool and buffet area. That's your choice. Of course, the lower decks are closer to the DRs, I.C., and entertainment venues.
  17. Below are the FCD amounts from 2014. Basically look the same. The 10 day cruise for balcony and above was $50 in 2014 as it is now. Nothing to do with the current Princess management. I do remember way back the OBC for a 10 day balcony cabin was higher, $100 I think, but believe that was back prior to 2014 maybe as early at the 2000s. Sometime prior to 2014 Princess moved the thresholds up one day from 10 days to 11 and from 16 days to 17. I don't see any difference in shareholder or military OBC offers. Future Cruise Length Per Person Shipboard Credit* 17 + Days $125 Inside, $125 Outside, $150 Balcony, $150 Suite 11 - 16 Days $75 Inside, $75 Outside, $100 Balcony, $100 Suite 7 - 10 Days $25 Inside, $25 Outside, $50 Balcony, $50 Suite 3 - 6 Days $15 Inside, $15 Outside, $25 Balcony, $25 Suite
  18. It will indicate in the Travel Summary and on your on board account statements which is refundable.
  19. There must be around a dozen open air restaurants along the marina walk. There is one right at the exit of the tender pier. Almost all serve typical tourist Mexican dishes and drinks.
  20. Officially cans, no bottles, and up to 12 cans per person can be brought on board. The wording is in the passage contract.
  21. You should be able to go directly to your cabin. If not you can call from any house phone, just visit the open Club Class DR and ask assistance, visit passenger services, or maybe visit the concierge lounge if open. The Chef's Table is held one or multiple times during the cruise, not every evening. Depends on how many requests are received and the chef's schedule. You did not ask but I offer this tip in case you are not aware. As a full suite passenger one of the best benefits is the Special Full Suite Breakfast in Sabatini's. It is way better than room service and the Club Class DR.
  22. For the past few years Princess has kept the Caribbean Princess on Caribbean sailings through July. The ship then sailed north for its New England/Canada season end of July through the fall months. In May 2024 the Caribbean Princess is scheduled to sail to Europe. All other ships sailing Caribbean itineraries are also scheduled to depart the Caribbean for other destinations. Conclusion. There will not be any Princess ships sailing Caribbean itineraries in late spring/summer 2024. You can verify my observations by checking the scheduled summer 2024 locations of each Princess ship on the Princess.com website.
  23. As posted, no loyalty status. Regarding alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. The Plus and Premier fares are a good value if you drink around 3 alcoholic beverages per person per day and use the internet. The crew appreciation (auto-tip) charge is included with these packages. Without the packages a charge of $16, $17 or $18 per person/per day, depending on cabin category, is posted to your on board accounts. You can find details of the packages here: https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/ If you are booked in a full suite there are some additional benefits such as laundry service, special breakfasts, concierge lounge on Royal Class ships only. Look up Princess Cruises full suite benefits. Also note that mini suites do not receive full suite benefits. However, if you book a club class mini suite you will be entitled to club class dining.
  24. Yes you definitely can disembark on your own and visit the local area. You can also book private tours. Suggest you visit the cruise critic roll for your date. There may be others already arranging private tours. This is what I remember regarding these ports. Kristiansand, Norway - You can walk into town and explore on foot. The town center area is not directly next to the pier, but is within walking distance. Copenhagen, Denmark - The ship docks north of the Kastellet at the Oceankaj cruise terminal. It is quite a distance from the center of town, the Nyhavn and Tivoli areas. Copenhjagen is a very walkable city. There will be transport at the pier, either taxis or busses. Don't remember if there were "shuttles." Oslo, Norway - Lots to do and explore. We took a ferry to the Viking Ship museum, but believe this may now be closed.
  25. Goes by the weather that day. Warm weather = shorts & "T." Rain = rain jackets, and so on. Never worry about photos. Always walk around the annoying photographers.
