  1. We now only stay at the Riverside Hotel. Los Olas Blvd is great for window shopping and wonderful dining. The hotel is wonderful with great restaurants and facilities.
  2. IMO a big difference in sailing in suite class vs. regular class- the lounge, deck and restaurant are so worth it to us- We like to be in bed by 11 PM and I am concerned that the area might be noisy- however I would rather be in a an entry level suite then a regular balcony cabin. We have put in move up bids. But don't expect to get a move up as the prime suites sell fast and are limited. You have a better chance of a move up from an interior cabin to a balcony cabin with a good bid.
  3. We find a diverse crowd on Celebrity- It depends on how long the cruise is and the week you sail. Holiday periods get a younger crowd with kids- We love the longer S and E class sailings-IMO I am not sailing to meet people- if I do, nice- but it is an opportunity for my DH and I to spend quality time together. Activities are available late night if you want to enjoy them- or get up early- head to the gym and have breakfast- The age of the crowd isn't important to us.
  4. We enjoy the Oasis class ships. Find so much to do- great food choices, comfortable cabins/suites and great service. Have tried other classes, found the old ships- very worn- shabby rooms- lacks the restaurants and choices of the newer ships. The freedom class ships were ok also- but we stay away fro the voyager and Radiance rust buckets. Also didn't like the quantum class ship layout. # Oasis class IMO Will be trying the Icon- so I cannot judge that yet.
  5. We still enjoy dressing up on formal nights- A true celebration of the cruise. After covid, we want to celebrate each and every cruise. We lived in casual clothes for a few years- and of course, like many ate too much! We did purchase new clothes that fit us properly now- and have lost some of the covid 15. I think many people still aren't in the post covid mode and still wear the stretchy casual clothes.
  6. Wow. Didn’t know that. Honestly I wouldn’t rent any cabana if that is true. We had rented on a couple of cruises, but overall labedee nothing like cococay. Service was poor on our last cruise not worth it.
  7. We are booked on the Icon . We sail in a month- While the ship was expensive, we booked the day the reservations opened up, so we paid much less then the prices today. However, I am guarded as to the experience for adults on this ship. We hope that the suite area, which we love on the oasis class, will not be taken over by kids- Also, based on the video's, the suites, seem very small. Will report back on the family surfside suite.
  8. True about neighbors, but odds are noisy in surfside. Oh well a nice experience
  9. Thanks for the replies- but this is a surfside family suite- so I would anticipate neighbors might have kids- I will try to royal up to another suite location- but the pricing is so crazy. We love the Oasis ships- especially the crown loft suites-
  10. We book Central Park Balcony for a cost effective quiet cabin.
  11. My DH and I will be sailing on the Icon in a few weeks. We booked a surfside family suite. We wanted the suite perks and this was the least expensive suite when we booked. My question is the area very noisy for two senior adults? We are considering placing a move up bid as we are concerned the neighborhood might not work for us. The suite itself seems comfortable, but should we try to move? Anybody sail in these suites have an opinion?
  12. When on vacation, I am not interested in carrying soda/water on board to save a few dollars. I figure I can spring for the few dollars.
  13. have a great trip- we love the Oasis and all of the Oasis class ships.
  14. Yes. They shouldn’t mention it. So many non controversial things to talk about
  15. Politics shouldn't be discussed on vacation. I agree, no politics or religion. This is a vacation. Enjoy your time meeting new people
  16. For $75 per day, you can purchase an unlimited specialty restaurant dining package- have all dinners and lunch at specialty restaurants.
  17. You woulb be surprised! Many wealthy people now
  18. Never could survive with only carry on-s- uless a three night cruise-
  19. it amazes me how many people out their are able to afford all of these luxuries. We went to disney world recently and while prices are obscene the parks were mobbed. Guess many people doing very well now. Unless you are wealthy, which many are, stick to the older ships for now.
  20. I believe the ships save a few cabins even when they report sold out
  21. can you change your stateroom? What number stateroom are you in?
  22. Not a fan of buffet type restaurants- many filthy people picking up food with their hands, or eating from their plates then using utensils- ugh. Would rather order a limited menu from room service.
  23. Once we tried the suite life on Royal (and Celebrity) we were hooked. Makes such a big difference! Hard to go back to a regular cabin! Enjoy the suite life- a wonderful experience.
