  1. As soon as you board, go to a specialty restaurant- speak to the person in charge and make your requests. Good luck.
  2. We love the crown loft suites. Best location for us. Next to Coastal Kitchen and suite lounge- one deck down to pool and buffet. If not in a suite, cabins above and cabins below the best and near an elevator. We like deck 9
  3. No late checkout- you are typically ushered off the ship very early so it can be cleared by customs. If you have a late flight, best to consider a Ft Lauderdale tour, or a hotel day room. Depending upon the airline- you might not be able to check your luggage well before your flight. Enjoy your cruise.
  4. We loved Eden on the Apex. Did a b/2/b and dined their a couple of times per cruise. We purchased the unlimited dining package- sometimes you are lucky enough to get it-but not always available. If you have any onboard credit- try it. Best meal at sea IMO.
  5. Not new. We have purchased it for an upcoming Reflection Cruise. They offer unlimited specialty restaurant dining. We make specific reservations once on board, or if in a suite via our suite concierge. A limited number of this package are typically offered per cruise. My DH is very fussy about what he eats and finds the sp restaurants very good. On the Edge class, eden our favorite and on the S class ships that have a lawn club grill our favorite- Murano and Tuscan also very good and we typically enjoy the others. But not sushi fans.
  6. I would choose Celebrity. Having sailed on princess a few times, and Celebrity many more, I prefer Celebrity. I find Princess more crowded and "plain vanilla". The food IMO better on Celebrity. The edge class ships are fabulous. We also enjoy the Silhouette and Reflection. But if cost is an issue- go with the most affordable.
  7. We enjoy the specialty restaurants. Also have made some purchases in the shops- Shore x another possibility.
  8. Actually if you are looking for "better" for children- IMO nothing beats the Oasis class Royal Caribbean ships. Perhaps the Icon will be the best- but we will see- trying her in March.
  9. Then specialty restaurants a good option. If you don't want unlimited SP restaurants, try to join them in blu. Not as good as costal kitchen, but you can dine together free. Also, I once changed my stateroom when I boarded to a suite. A couple didn't show up and I was moved when the cruise was leaving the port- the cost was actually less then the move up program minimum. So try that. Also lot's to do for the older generation and those in-between. Enjoy
  10. Your friends should try a move-up bid- May work out on the Summit. Also, I would dine in Specialty restaurants nightly to be with them. Have a nice cruise.
  11. We really enjoyed our b/2/b Apex sailing. The ship was wonderful. We also love the Silhouette and will be sailing on her again in January. The ship was redone so it is great. You cannot go wrong with either ship. We have sailed on the Summit also, but she lacks some of the features of the other two. If you can swing it, try suite class. The suite deck on the Apex and Silhouette, and the lounge are wonderful.
  12. We sail on Celebrity and Royal Oasis class ships. Have sailed on NCL. If you aren't in the Haven not the best experience- Food medicore at best and the layout of the ships poor. Haven't been on NCL in a few years and will not go back again. The crowding and ships flow was horrible.
  13. You cannot even get drinks in the suite lounge? Crazy ruling- Celebrity should pass grand cayman. If all the cruise lines don't stop at this port, let's see what happens.
  14. I surely wouldn't be bored! May (probably) will gain weight. As long as your cabin/suite is a good size. I might go crazy in a tiny cabin. We did a b/2/b on the Apex and we weren't bored- in a sky suite. Enjoy your cruises.
  15. Never tried the wine pairing menu at LeVoyage. My DH isn't a wine drinker- and will not eat any fish dishes. We take the unlimited specialty dining package and truly enjoy dining in speciality restaurants for dinner daily. Our favorite on the E class ships is Eden.
  16. As far as S class ships, Silhouette and Reflection our favorites. Love the lawn club grill. The M Class, the Summit was redone so it is nice. Overall we loved the Apex and especially if you are suite class. The edge was nice, but the Apex new and improved. Sailing on the Silhouette in January-Hope to try the newest edge class ships soon.
  17. We leave our luggage our after dinner Typically pack what we wear for dinner and the evening in our carry-on. No worries- as the earlier the better IMO. We aren't the type who pack at the last minute. We pack up before dinner only leaving what we need for the evening and morning- then put those items in our carry ons.
  18. I try to only have breakfast in luminae. If I go to the buffet, I overeat. So for me and my DH a controlled normal portion of food works best! We don’t “work it off” in the gym
  19. Are they free for grand suite and above guests?
  20. Not worth it. Another money grab. Dine in chops another day. On the holidays the MDR and Costal Kitchen have special dinners included in your fare.
  21. I agree that the bagels aren't good. However if you really toast them well they are tolerable. Enjoy
  22. With concierge class, you get a better located cabin, special lunch-and more cc points. A few other amenities also. If you need the cc points worth it. If not, try a well located balcony cabin and enjoy a few speciality dinners. Enjoy your cruise.
  23. I used a terrible TA. I passed the reservation to her for a b/2/b in a suite and got nothing in return. So some TA's give nothing=not even a free specialty restaurant dinner. You picked a good TA
