  1. I believe so. But call to ask- may have special rooms. The ship cabins have carpeting- not only in cabins, but in most public spaces. How do you handle?
  2. We typically stay at the Riverside on Los Olas before our ft. Lauderdale cruises- How was the Hyatt Centric? Good location?
  3. I have a nephew who is trying out the MSC Yacht club in December. He will report back to me- As far as the issue with water and soda, I never recall a butler, except when we sail in Royal suites, getting us any beverages. We typically went to the Suite lounge and brought back all the water and soda we wanted and put it in our cooler. I agree, the Edge class ships have much better suite lounges and suite decks- but they are also more expensive. We will be on the Silhouette for the third time this January.
  4. We were once on the NCL Breakaway in the Haven. When we entered the suite it had a strong smell. It was like the room stank from horrible body odor. Perhaps the people before us weren't clean. The smell left in a day- but was really stinky!
  5. We are sailing early January on the Silhouette. I wasn't going to bid, but did on a Celebrity Suite. The ship appears pretty full, but who knows. When is the earliest people have found out if their bids have been accepted? I know the latest is typically just before boarding- but the earliest? Just curious.
  6. While we spend time in the solarium, sometimes it is better to rotate and stay at the regular pool- we do not do sun- so we always look for a shady place.
  7. While a long flight, I would consider b/3/b's on the Apex or any new E class ships. The experience of the ship is wonderful and the Islands are beautiful. If you can do it, consider a b/2/b on two different E class ships. Out of Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.
  8. I see people throw away money in the casino and on art prints- if coffee is important- worth it- a matter of priorities.
  9. If you really want it- worth it- on vacation, we all spend .
  10. We truly enjoy the suite perks- perhaps better on the new Edge class ships. However on S class, you still get a great suite lounge and Luminae. In addition, many priority perks. The suites themselves are larger and more comfortable IMO well worth it! Enjoy
  11. As soon as you board, go to a specialty restaurant- speak to the person in charge and make your requests. Good luck.
  12. We love the crown loft suites. Best location for us. Next to Coastal Kitchen and suite lounge- one deck down to pool and buffet. If not in a suite, cabins above and cabins below the best and near an elevator. We like deck 9
  13. No late checkout- you are typically ushered off the ship very early so it can be cleared by customs. If you have a late flight, best to consider a Ft Lauderdale tour, or a hotel day room. Depending upon the airline- you might not be able to check your luggage well before your flight. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. We loved Eden on the Apex. Did a b/2/b and dined their a couple of times per cruise. We purchased the unlimited dining package- sometimes you are lucky enough to get it-but not always available. If you have any onboard credit- try it. Best meal at sea IMO.
  15. Not new. We have purchased it for an upcoming Reflection Cruise. They offer unlimited specialty restaurant dining. We make specific reservations once on board, or if in a suite via our suite concierge. A limited number of this package are typically offered per cruise. My DH is very fussy about what he eats and finds the sp restaurants very good. On the Edge class, eden our favorite and on the S class ships that have a lawn club grill our favorite- Murano and Tuscan also very good and we typically enjoy the others. But not sushi fans.
  16. I would choose Celebrity. Having sailed on princess a few times, and Celebrity many more, I prefer Celebrity. I find Princess more crowded and "plain vanilla". The food IMO better on Celebrity. The edge class ships are fabulous. We also enjoy the Silhouette and Reflection. But if cost is an issue- go with the most affordable.
  17. We enjoy the specialty restaurants. Also have made some purchases in the shops- Shore x another possibility.
  18. Actually if you are looking for "better" for children- IMO nothing beats the Oasis class Royal Caribbean ships. Perhaps the Icon will be the best- but we will see- trying her in March.
  19. Then specialty restaurants a good option. If you don't want unlimited SP restaurants, try to join them in blu. Not as good as costal kitchen, but you can dine together free. Also, I once changed my stateroom when I boarded to a suite. A couple didn't show up and I was moved when the cruise was leaving the port- the cost was actually less then the move up program minimum. So try that. Also lot's to do for the older generation and those in-between. Enjoy
  20. Your friends should try a move-up bid- May work out on the Summit. Also, I would dine in Specialty restaurants nightly to be with them. Have a nice cruise.
  21. We really enjoyed our b/2/b Apex sailing. The ship was wonderful. We also love the Silhouette and will be sailing on her again in January. The ship was redone so it is great. You cannot go wrong with either ship. We have sailed on the Summit also, but she lacks some of the features of the other two. If you can swing it, try suite class. The suite deck on the Apex and Silhouette, and the lounge are wonderful.
  22. We sail on Celebrity and Royal Oasis class ships. Have sailed on NCL. If you aren't in the Haven not the best experience- Food medicore at best and the layout of the ships poor. Haven't been on NCL in a few years and will not go back again. The crowding and ships flow was horrible.
  23. You cannot even get drinks in the suite lounge? Crazy ruling- Celebrity should pass grand cayman. If all the cruise lines don't stop at this port, let's see what happens.
