  1. Do you book your cruises far out from the sail date or closer to the sail date? What size class ships were your two RC cruises on? Speaking only about RC. That's why you need to book MTD time(s)as soon as it is open for your sailing in your CP. The early MTD time slots are taken fast. Once you get onboard head to the MDR for MTD or TD and select the table size you want. We have never had a bad experience requesting a table that we scoped out and then requested that table number for the entire cruise. I can't speak for others but know just from who post here on CC others have had the same positive experiences. Of course those without reservations (MTD) are going to be put in the waiting que. Especially now with a lot of ships starting MTD later than before the shut down. Even with TD, if you want a early dining time then book the cruises early. Especially on the lager ships. If not late dining or waitlisted will be your choices. Every dining request for table size has been a guarantee once onboard for us. We haven't been asked in years about table size when booking the cruise.
  2. Shouldn't be allowed to smoke anywhere in the staterooms or on the balconies either. Give the smoker a nicotine patch or gum.
  3. We (elite and above) had unlimited drinks loaded on our SeaPass cards to be used at other bars (5 to 7) if you didn't want to go to the Sky Lounge during the CC HH in the past (before the shut down). When was your last Celebrity cruise? If the Sky Lounge was open to all, then it wouldn't have been the CC HH. Speaking only for us, we would like to see the CC HH brought back and to include all seven evenings of the cruise. Cruise only fare wouldn't be a deciding factor as it was never in the past (before AI). How do you know whether or not most elite (or above) already have some type of drink package? Celebrity isn't deterring anyone from booking cruise only as they recently change from only AI bookings to choosing AI or cruise only. Same when Celebrity offered the three different bundling programs. Only speaking for us, going to the CC HH (we would go from 5 to 5:45) isn't all about the drinks and the snacks. Speaking only for us, we liked the three different bundling packages you could choose from. We always took the package that offered the CBP, Gratuities and OBC. We liked that better than the AI only for the reason, unlimited WiFi is useless to us.
  4. I believe my wife and I are in the minority for not being sea day fans. Our usual port day is eat breakfast early and off the ship early and back onboard NLT 1:00 PM. Then it's R&R time on the ship with less people before getting ready for the evening.
  5. For TD about a week or two prior to your sail date send an email with your request to, rcldining@rccl.com. We've had luck in the past doing this. Your table for three with be a table for four, minus one setting.
  6. You didn't mention TD in your post I quoted. If you had I wouldn't have responded. Bummer. We have never had a problem getting the same table each evening for our reserved time for MTD. Along with the same waitstaff. We've even had the same table for both legs of B2B cruises. Usually a different waitstaff. No biggie. We have never had a problem getting a table for two for TD for our reserved time that we selected when booking the cruise. Like I said we head straight to the MDR when we first board the ship to get the table size and location we like. Timing is everything. All our RC cruises have only been on the Radiance class, Voyager class and Freedom class ships. Maybe size matters.
  7. Nope. Check out cruises leaving from San Juan. Port intensive cruises which we prefer. We aren't sea day fans. On our first leg of our 13 March B2B Caribbean cruise we had no sea days. On our second leg 20 March we had two sea days. Never mind, I just saw your recent post.
  8. You could and still can do that. Pre and post covid cruises. We did this all the time for MTD. Always made reservations (time) in the CP and once onboard went directly to the MDR for MTD, found a table we liked and requested that table every night for our reserved time. If we selected early TD in the MDR we did the same thing when we first boarded the ship. Always a table for two and not all of the tables we selected were inches apart.
  9. Nothing new. That's one thing about the CC we have always thought was cheap. The CC hasn't brought back the formal CC HH ( 5 to 7) in the Sky Lounge in the evening. AI or not. RC is back to doing the C&A HH (5 to 8) in the evening that includes the buffet style snacks. Only difference now is they serve your selections to you and you have to use your tier level drinks that are loaded on your SeaPass card for dinks in the DL during the HH.
  10. Brain fart. And we've been on the Jewel many times.
  11. In the past, no. Just have him order another one when he receives the first one. 🍻
  12. I know you weren't there. That's why my sarcastic answer to your doubting question as I already commented it was a free for all event. Pat @island lady who I was responding to knows exactly what I was talking about as we discussed it on our second leg of our cruise, and her first leg of her cruise. Bummer we missed out on her and Buck's recognition for pinnacle or top cruisers based on our experience the week before. As I said this was our first experience with this type of chaos during a top tier event. Hell, the couple that were to be recognized as new pinnacles didn't even bother to show up. Felt sorry for the LA.
  13. ...🤣 OK, how about some cheese to go with your whine while you wait here for a WAG! 🤣
  14. Were you there!? Obviously you weren't at the top tier event on the Explorer were were at (first leg of our March B2B cruise). The worst top tier event we've ever attended. Loud inconsiderate people and their kids along with few servers which meant sitting waiting for a drink and limited drink selections. Fake champagne was the C&A drink of choice.
  15. Wasn't it also on the Explorer? Our first leg top tier event was a free for all crazy event. That's why we skipped the one on the second leg.
  16. Just water. Not even coke (I stopped drinking coke/soda in 1999). No caffeine at all.
  17. Damn it! 🍻 Can't blame me for trying. 😁
  18. It's time for all the cruise lines to drop the mandatory pre cruise covid testing, just like they did with the face mask requirement.
