  1. I wasn't actually jesting. That is the procedure in many restaurants now, particularly the big national chains. Our Costa's beans are on an app. App to park the car, app to go to the Doctor, app to buy a paper...oh !, no need for a paper, it's an app. On my phone I have the Royal Caribean app, Celebrity, Melia, various booking apps and P&O's splendid effort.
  2. You will need to order with a QR code soon.
  3. On RC they had a Micheal Coors hand bag that DW liked and we had a chunk of OBC. It was reduced from £280 to £140. DW went to buy it and the sales Lady said ' I will put it under the counter ma'am. Pop down at 10.00am tomorrow, I will be reducing it another 50% when we close tonight.
  4. In some case the difference us a rip off. Sometimes not much in it. Folk will do the sums.
  5. We have not had a serving team in the theatre,so don't tip them. We like freedom dining so we can go to different restaurants as the fancy takes us. We normally show our appreciation in the specialities as we go.
  6. We don't book a balcony cabin for extra OBC, we book a balcony because.....we want a balcony. But we have had this conversation.
  7. We won't be spending much in the shops. Our OBC goes on drinks, restaurants and trips. I doubt that folk are fooled by any clever P&O marketing ploys. I'm sure that most will do the sums. 10% discount on something I book precruise means I have spent the 90% remainder with my real money.
  8. Seems to be ' trendy ' not to have a car.....Just stop Apps.... Booking shows and meals can be done without having a ' device '. It seems to be causing a good deal of excitement. Perhaps Brian will need to order his drinks at Haven on an app. We did a couple of years ago. The medical thing can't be a big disadvantage as I have 2 NHS apps and can't book a doctors appointment without doing it through the app, or the website. That's the way the world's going.
  9. We got on the virtual queue when we started getting showered. Normally by the time we were dressed we got notification that the table was ready. Press the in our way button..phone off..put in safe..job done.
  10. I'll book those on board and use OBC, not proper money. We normally pretty much get the booking we want. Being nice to the folk at the restaurant desk normally works. On Azura the man told us if we come down to the Glass House at 6.00 he will.find us a nice table for 2, sit us down with a drink and take our food order a 6.45 As we had booked the 10.30 show, that gave us time to see pulse for a while, or one of the other acts. Worked for us. No stress. Quite good actually .
  11. I think you mean the riviera. Pontins had it for a while. We went to Haven at Weymouth Bay when we were let out. All the ships were still there. Here's a pic. If it's upside down, apologies but......🤣
  12. We took 3 staycation cruises when they started 2 on Britannia and 1 on Iona. Did the app work ? Can't remember. It was so good to be on a cruise again. 3 last year and 2 so far this. All magic. Several UK holidays and a few flyaway. Not everything was perfect, but we enjoyed them all. I don't care about the apps. We had them on some of the hotels and also uk caravan parks. If that is the future, so be it. I can't really worship the old days as they are gone.
  13. I guess you are very much like us. Expect things to change and adapt.
  14. Fish fry on the first Friday is worth paying a few quid extra for.
  15. We are in PE and will book seats as soon as we are able. We fly BA to Majorca in a couple of weeks. We can choose our seats 7 days before the flight , normal booking opens 24 hours. I have a look every day and if the flight looks like its filling up, I will pay £35 to pick some early.
  16. When we arrive in Barbados on the Friday we will book stuff that we couldn't in advance. If it's full up when the Saturday folk arrive, I promise not to gloat.
  17. If P&O email me and tell me I can book things, you can bet I will. Everything I can as soon as I can. I won't be the one sitting outside watching the well prepared folk inside eating, laughing and generally having a good time...oh no...not me. Me and DW will be inside the train looking out.
  18. Not wishing to be a scaremonger...but folk should remember to book their seats on the plane the first minute they can....or else.🤔
  19. Not that surprised you spotted him. He works in an office down the road in Slough.😁
  20. We have been to the Limelight a few times. We expect a decent table a short session from the entertainer, a decent meal and a full set afterwards, perhaps till we'll after 10pm. If it ended at 9.30 I would feel cheated. Our next cruise is Britannia in December. If it is reported that it is ending at 9.30 our OBC will go elsewhere.
  21. By not booking early we missed out on the Limelight. We didn't get to experience the delights of Eric and Ern, or the bucks fizz lady.🤣
  22. No problem. At least we avoided dragging Saga, or Fred into it.🤣
  23. Problem is Harry, I'm the reason DW normally asks for a table for one.😁
