  1. Yup. Have had it happen back when it was cruise cards and even back when I had to sign a receipt (although that was much rarer). When they're asking cabin numbers, then inputting multiple drinks at once, things get screwed up. My card was very rarely ran, it was just asking cabin number. Same with medallion - very rare, IME, to have the actual medallion scanned particularly at a busy bar, rather an asked cabin number, and they input manually as they enter the drink order. Transposition happens, drinks get out on wrong account, etc. With receipts, it's was rarer, but happened occasionally - and was caught immediately when I would have a receipt to sign for 3 drinks when I ordered two. With the card and no receipts, had to go to Guest Services and dispute, generally not an issue... With the app, I can see a charge on my folio for an incorrect drink (one covered by a package, for instance) and can check drink count any time and know if I've been charged drinks I didn't order..much easier nowadays... YMMV
  2. One question: Do all suites have reserved seating in the Arena for production shows? Or just Sky Suites? I'm reading conflicting info on different boards, might as well ask directly... Thanks, enjoy!
  3. What couch? To get a couch in Sapphire, you have to be in a Mini-suite. On Sapphire, and all Grand/Gem class ships - Oceanview cabins on deck 8/Emerald are basically the same as balcony cabins. Same layout, bathroom, space - and 3rd/4th berth are Pullmans. On very rare occasions, the 4th berth can be a rollaway (rare . With a 98.9 certainty - the 3rd berth will be a Pullman berth. There's no couch, no large chair, nothing like that in the cabin. It's Pullman, or rollaway.. and rollaway is extremely unlikely! Enjoy!
  4. Signature Restaurant is a standalone separate restaurant with separate decor, service, etc. However, when it comes to the menu ; so far, reports are that it's mainly the same MDR menu, with a couple different options - and none has seen the elusive prime rib vary that was advertised for months as a fixture, lol.. More exclusive than the ropes of Reserve area as on prior ships - but not a major difference in menu and such, like Lumiere (Celebrity) or Coastal Kitchen (RCCL) or such on other lines... CB's Reserve class was outstanding last November, among the best I've experienced...
  5. They'll give you a key card, and yes it can be printed with name and sail dates. They do keep some, just in case there's medallion malfunction, or a someone has a concern with pacemaker or whatever. Ask at guest services. Although, it may be time to start a new collection! The medallions have name, ship and dates on them also ..
  6. I'd be inclined towards CB. But a string lull to Sun too.. CB: Much much larger room. Included adults only pool aft. Much nicer Sanctuary Familiarity (don't discount how much this helps you relax). Great crew Lovely Wheelhouse lounge. MUTS much more contained Old and showing a bit of age Less passengers than Sun Beautiful promenade all the way around the ship Longer cruise. And ports tours more interested in. And no tendering!! Sun: New Signature Lounge (CB does not have a suite lounge). Signature Restaurant (first ship with suite only restaurant). New dining options New shows Dome Sanctuary with suite access included (don't know what the situation is with kids in the Sanctuary on Sun, since it's a suite perk.) But - much less inviting looking environment around the Sanctuary) Enclave!! Not included for suites, but very relaxing. New venues Shiny and new Very very different layout, concepts, etc. As you noted - may compel you to participate and explore and go go more than you want to and less relaxing... Basic itinerary. And Princess Cays is a tender port, with long lines to get back, even on the much smaller ships. A lot more passengers! Flip a coin. Ask the other two their opinion. Put deposits on both, and out off the decision till the Sun has been sailing a while longer, lol (that's what I'd do, give it some time to shake out). All said, overall, id probably go CB..longer cruise, more ports, no tendering, less people, larger room.... And save the bells and whistles for some other time.. .
  7. Your 17 year old will have all the Plus Cruise Package benefits, ie WiFi, casual dining, crew apprecireciation, juice bar, etc - and the Zero Proof drink package. She can order all the mocktails, sodas, waters, specialty coffees, whatever non-alcoholic as she likes . 18 year old, full plus beverage package included in Plus Cruise Package, as legal drinking age aboard is 18. Or, you can oot to only purchase the Plus Cruise Package for the first 2 passengers in the cabin, assuming the 17 year old is listed as the third passenger.. the Cruise Packages only have to be purchased for passengers one and two in the same cabin. Passengers 3 and 4 don't have to have them Of course, if you're going to be paying her crew appreciation, buying WiFi and the zero Proof package separately, it's more economical to purchase the bundled Cruise Package for her, even though she can't buy alcohol..
  8. Yes, suites have comped specialty dining on the first night. On all Princess ships.. There's no other free specialty dining on the first night..
  9. Did you write to special needs at sea for Princess? Or generic customer service? Either way, Princess most definitely has a vegan menu....and has had for a while... unfortunate you didn't get a response from whatever address you wrote to. Glad Holland has met.your needs.. Thread from 2021 and forward on Vegan on Princess: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2812038-vegan-food-on-princess/ Newer vegan menus also introduced last fall posted below... For future reference... Hope you enjoy Holland America! .
  10. Yup. And you can also order in advance if you like.
  11. OBC is applied to anything charged to your cabin aboard, in the order it's purchased. Your account is a simple credit/debit account. You'll start with a negative balance. Anything you charge to your room will reduce that negative balance to zero. Once you hit zero, you'll start accruing a balance due. Casino charges to go cabin, spa charged to cabin, specialty dining or photos or crafts or casual dining or shops, whatever - applied to your account and uses up OBC untill it's gone. Non-refundable OBC is used first.. *Can't use OBC for Future Cruise Deposits as those are not charged to your onboard account. They're charged directly to your CC/SB on file..
  12. It makes no difference, even then. Many many people order custom medallions - birthday or anniversary or flag or birthstone or whatever. Anywhere where entrance is based on CC status will have a handheld scanner to check. Someone with a customized medallion isn't going to be denied based on that. They'd be denied if they're CC level isn't correct for the event. As long as your account accurately reflects your current status, the color of your medallion makes no difference.
  13. And what about that makes my answer incorrect? If you've always had a package, shipping is covered by the package. Prior to Feb 2023, shipping was free to everyone. When the package changes cane into effect in Feb 2923, medallion shipping is $10, unless you have the Plus or Premier Cruise Package (at 60/80 price, which was introduced Dec 14, 2022). Before those changes, medallion shipping was fee, regardless of package or not. So, what was incorrect in my statement?
  14. If the scooter is 21 inches and the door is 23, then why wouldn't it fit through the door?
  15. You don't need Internet to access the "find my shipmate" function of the app You can use the app with ships intranet. If you all have WiFi Internet access, you can message each other via Whatsapp, FB Messenger, whatever. And use the Find My Shipmate via app, or boards around the ship.. Very easy with WiFi Internet, same as on land. Make a group bus Whatsapp or FB messenger or whatever texting app and you can reach everyone in your group with one text.
  16. That is incorrect. Anyone in US or Canada can pay to have them shipped. It's $10 per order. Those who've purchased the Plus or Premier Cruise Packages (at $60/80) have shipping included. (Which is why you're reimbursed $10 if you buy the package aboard).
  17. Glitch. Call or try via the Cruise Personalizer online
  18. Nope, no different to standard cabins - and curious, but why would they? They're larger inside, but not some type of double door mansion. If you're trying to fit a scooter - unless it's collapsible, it won't fit through the door. And they're not supposed to be left in the hall You'd need an accessible cabin for a wider door.

  20. No, yellow fever is not required. CC is recommended, you don't need local currency unless you're going to be spending enough that the conversion rate would be better in local currency. MX happily accepts USD, just be clear on the exchange so you don't get ripped off.. As for who made changes or what that means - that's a question for your TA! And that's why you have a TA, to sort these snafus out! PS: you're sailing LA to Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale. Princess doesn't sail in/out of Miami. Hopefully, your after cruise activities are organized from the correct port! Happy sails, the Canal is spectacular!
  21. Yes, it's happened to hundreds, if not thousands of people. Makes no difference in actuality. Make sure your status is correct on your app/cruise personalizer and on your booking - and you're set You can get a correct color sticker once aboard, at GS or CC host.
  22. It's an obvious typo. Should be minis. The 16 aft, referred colloquially as Sweet 16, are fully covered. Otherwise, no other covered minis. All Dolphin deck minis are fully uncovered balconies. I'd have mentioned if there were covered ones there.
  23. All balconies on Aloha and Baja Deck. Caribbean deck are half covered half uncovered. That's for standard balcony cabins. Mimis, only the Sweet 16 aft on Emerald. Otherwise, they're all completely uncovered.
  24. Game changer? Hardly. MSC did this with Brightline pre-pandemic. Lasted a year or so, maybe. So it's not new, at all... And this "program" seems to preclude anyone in Miami, as they only mention it being offered between Orlando and Fort Lauderdale... And of course, obviously , everywhere in the state that doesn't have Brightline... Not exactly game changing. And for most, who usually drive, it's still easier and cheaper to drive and park rather than Uber to station, buy tickets, pay extra for the luggage service (per bag!), etc. SMH.
  25. Should be 22-23 inches wide. That's the size in Royal, Regal and Majestic. Can't imagine it's different on Enchanted..
