  1. Probably not for the person who is trying to stay asleep early in the morning and not wanting to get to the first tender ashore.
  2. That happened to us before. In some occasions early in the morning when arriving in port early as well. Some cabins are closer to loudspeakers in the hallways than others so you can also hear them inside. Take a note of that cabins for the future bookings if it bothers you.
  3. Did you hear the announcements on the speakers inside your stateroom? Normally, they are translated from the hallway outside your room. Also, it’s very rare that they started as early as 7am. Most likely complaining to the front desk won’t resolve the problem. You can try to talk to the GM about it and see if that may help.
  4. I’d think to be competitive Oceania needs to revamp their air department. Once they came out with very attractive PE promotions which seems not to be a case anymore. Their BIZ Class fares never were good especially when compared with some other lines. A lot of people don’t want to fly economy while booking upscale cruise lines. Doing your own air using cash or rewards miles just became too difficult and expensive lately. Paying more for air than the regular cabin cruise fare itself doesn’t seem right. It’s time for Oceania to use their consolidator power to offer more attractive upper class airfare which proved to be a good business model for others luxury and premium cruise lines.
  5. Looks like another money saver move from Oceania. I’d prefer Illy brand over Lavazza as it was served on the O ships before.
  6. I also prefer to drink my coffee “Italian” way espresso or cappuccino when it’s appropriate. I believe that it’s what you “call” coffee. But there’re many others who like an “americano” and it’s not necessary a bad coffee, just different from what you like. Definitely doesn’t shock me at all, neither it seems funny to me.
  7. This thread is about the cabin selection. I noticed that you started another thread, where you’ll have a better chance of getting your questions answered.
  8. Three large suitcases for one week? It might be a New York Fashion Show on this cruise 😀
  9. Since all are paying for the ship excursions under SimplyMore now it’s probably the time for Oceania to organise excursions for the passengers with limited mobility separately from the regular tours in some ports where it’s possible. Maybe arrange an accessible bus going to the same sights. It’s not a good idea to make regular tours available to these people as it will significantly slow down the other participants making a negative impact on their experiences.
  10. It’s actually Oceania LOYALTY Program, so they decided to award for the loyalty to the cruise line by the number of cruises taken and in some way for the time spent onboard, but not for the amount of money spent.
  11. I understand that you booked BIZ Class to Singapore through Oceania, right? I’m interested in what was the price compared to booking on your own. Thank you.
  12. There was some change. Anyway, I assume you will have to go with what is your invoice FP date and the terms and conditions but not with something that you can read on the website.
  13. Congratulations!!! You seem to be an expert in sales and upgrades.
  14. If something is not to your liking you don’t have to eat it. Just ask for anything else and they will bring it to you right away.
  15. No matter how you slice it you get the same. $50 x 2 = $100 The best thing if you cruise more you get $250, $400 etc… Very few fares are excluded which normally are not available to the general public anyway.
  16. Did you have a chance to meet Oceania Ambassador on board. Can you please find out how booking onboard will work in light of the new cancellation policy. Particularly if one time change to the different cruise without loosing the administrative fee is still allowed before a certain time prior to the start of the cruise. Enjoy your cruise.
  17. I can answer your question about caviar. We’ve got exactly the same caviar offerings on all of our Oceania cruises pre- or post-covid. They used to have Sunday Brunches with pretty much unlimited caviar, but it’s been long time ago. With rare exceptions we always enjoyed the other food as well. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  18. Hopefully, these numbers will be never again on the Oceania ships.
  19. You’re lucky - Motril is the closest port, so you’ll have more time in Granada. Hopefully, your port time wasn’t reduced. Enjoy your visit.
  20. There’s a way to get both - the O perks through your TA and commission share as well.
  21. Thank you OP for well balanced review coming from the first time Oceania customer. This is pretty much how we feel about Oceania after many years cruising with them. Including your dining preferences, entertainment and port experiences. We have done a similar cruise in the past but the longer one from London to New York. I also appreciated your posts about cruising prior you even went on this cruise. I have just one comment about Oceania fellow passengers how you described them in your review. I don’t question you about the racial diversity though we have met people from different parts of the world. But with the Oceania longer itineraries and prices of mostly $10,000 upwards it wouldn’t be reasonable to expect many passengers other than upper middle class retirees to partake. Although, we found many interesting people onboard we enjoyed to communicate with, some of them became our friends since we met.
  22. In the brochure it says: Book now, sale ends September 30, 2023. I haven’t checked the prices against the website as our April, 2024 cruise is not included and there’s nothing else that interested us to make a booking at this short notice.
  23. We know that. It’s correct, I questioned how you managed to request something else beyond that - airline carriers, layover time etc… We never ask for something we’re not supposed to request without paying a fee.
  24. If any missed port is a deal breaker for you then you probably should.
  25. As it was already stated to you, you can’t request a carrier or anything else except earlier arrival unless you pay the deviation fee. I wonder even how you were able to put your request without using air deviation. Anyway, I believe that you got what you wanted - your AA flight well might be a codeshare flight with BA on the same route. But again, it’s not because of your request but something that Oceania choose for you within their contracts.
