  1. Agreed. It literally takes less than 3 minutes. It's not going to affect your crowd situation (for better or worse) on Lido. And the quicker people get it done, the easier it is on the staff that have to make sure everyone has done it.
  2. I think I saw that story on an episode of Love Boat. 😁
  3. If Emeril is in charge of revamping the menu there are going to be new seafood items. As it absolutely should! Otherwise, it would be like putting Paul Hollywood in charge of desserts and saying everything has to be gluten free.
  4. I am so sorry this happened to you. I don't bring or wear any "real" jewelry when I travel except for my plain wedding band. I worry about losing it as much or more than getting robbed. Just seeing other women wearing big engagement rings or other expensive jewelry makes me nervous.
  5. Yes, once you are in port and can get a cell signal. For AT&T, the same is also true for Canada and Mexico.
  6. I have 100+ sea days, and I have never ordered a second entrée, much less a third. If you happen to see me sitting near you in the MDR, let me know - you can have my free second entrée. 😊
  7. Not a problem at all. We do it all the time. We stay at a hotel near FLL that has an airport shuttle and take an Uber from the hotel to the point port in Miami.
  8. Look, if Carnival asks you to follow a certain procedure,, please follow the procedure! They don't do it just to mess up your life. They have what they believe to be a good reason. People who pick and choose the rules they follow are what causes systems to break down.
  9. You are doing God's work @ObstructedView2 Actually, you are doing the OPs' work. 😁😁
  10. They are going to charge as much as they think they can get. Jubilee is a brand new ship, so don't expect any price decreases for quite awhile. I am booked out for the next two years with reasonably priced Carnival cruises. If they can get a lot more for the rest of the cabins, I think that's great. We need Carnival to return to profitability if we want to continue to sail with them.
  11. Except for pizza, nothing. That's why it's an upgrade.
  12. Whenever I have situations (especially pleasure travel) that does not go my way, I try to have the mindset of "some day this will be an interesting story I can tell". It helps a lot. For example, in Spring of 2021, I took a land tour of Bavaria. That was back when you had to have a negative Covid test to return to the US. Guess what? I was the only one in our tour to test positive. I was stuck by myself in Germany until I could produce a negative test. I ended up having to stay alone in Fussen for six days. I could get outdoors for some lovely solo hikes. I kept my friends entertained with my social media posts. I finally made it home and reunited with my DH who had to leave me in Europe. And yes, it is on the top of my list of "interesting things that have happened to me". TL;DR It's all about attitude.
  13. My guess is that if you are okay with paying the adult price to get a child's hair done, they will do it. I just don't think most parents are willing to spend that kind of money.
  14. It depends. A similar meal in a fine restaurant on land would be much more expensive than what Carnival charges, so in that respect, yes, it is definitely worth it. If you are a picky eater or don't enjoy very high-end dining experiences (multiple courses, tasting-size portions, emphasis on presentation), you might not think so.
  15. And I already know I am Platinum. I don't need crew to continually mention it.
  16. The crew knows how many passengers are sailing. When we were sailing immediately post-pandemic, we would ask our waiters and they were always able to tell us.
  17. Once on a cruise, our cabin phone rang. DH answered, and a person said that they had "a very important message" for me. My heart was pounding as I took the phone. Who was trying to contact me on a cruise? Was one of my kids seriously hurt? Did our house burn down while we were gone? No - the message was that they were offering me, completely randomly, a $50 credit towards any spa service. It took me a long time to get over being upset about that.
  18. Why would you need this information? My guess is that all of the crew members - especially the department managers - are going to be exceptionally busy. Are you planning to contact them for things another staff member can take care of, or to bother them about things they can't do anything about?
  19. Yes, because they don't have a liquor license and can't sell you alcohol. That's not the case with a cruise ship.
  20. I don't have a problem with this. I always thought it was tacky to bring your own drinks into the MDR. You wouldn't do it in a restaurant on land; why would this be any different?
  21. There is really no advantage to booking Spa services ahead of time unless you have a very specific time and date in mind. It has been my experience that they start offering specials a couple of days into the cruise. And as other people have posted, getting refunds if you change your mind can take awhile to get posted to your account.
