  1. For us in the UK, the booking time is now 1am or 2am, so not very convenient 🤨
  2. …………. and when in the U.S.A. or on a Regent ship it is impossible to access the U.K. website and U.K. cruise pricing, which is very inconvenient. Many websites give the user the option to change country, but not rssc.com 🤨 Perhaps @Mike Moore can suggest a way round this issue.
  3. Yes, we found this to be a problem last month. Explorer has always seemed to us to have the worst Wi-Fi/Internet of all the Regent ships, but lately it has become even worse. During our cruise the Internet Manager said that the Wi-Fi infrastructure on Explorer would be enhanced during her dry-dock in May 🤞 We were fortunate to enjoy two during our B2B Bali to Tokyo, so not sure why you have not had one on your Sunday Sea Day. Deck Parties are normally held when the ship is in port until late, not when the ship stays overnight. On overnights some guests and crew choose to go ashore for the evening. Of the two newer ships we definitely like Splendor more than Explorer, for a variety of reasons. @RachelG,Thanks for the continuing commentary from Explorer
  4. Leaflet in the post today (sent from our TA) Shows upgrades to Premium Economy on selected Regent Caribbean sailings. Includes Grandeur, 17th February 2024 Strangely the offer is not yet shown on the Regent website.
  5. We did see a small dog on Regent once, but a long time ago, probably 10 years. It was on either Mariner or Voyager. The owner would carry the dog around in her handbag and was seemingly allowed in all the public areas. Lots of complaints and have never seen the like again.
  6. Surely you can just give the details of your new TA to the on-board cruise consultant with whom you booked the cruise 🤔 ……… or are we missing something?
  7. In the past whenever we have asked Regent(UK) for the cost of Business Class flights it has invariably been cheaper than we could source tickets direct; particularly for the ‘one way’ or ‘open jaw’ tickets required for most cruises.
  8. You are so right, and for a Miami flight Economy or Premium economy is not an option we ever like to consider 😲
  9. Are you suggesting that Regent should offer these services at a loss? Personally I want the cruise line to survive these difficult economic times so that we can continue enjoying the product.
  10. Is that the price for a flexible ticket (i.e. cancellable) or lowest cost (no changes)? ........ or it could just be a question of supply & demand; meaning that Regent are unable to secure tickets at a lower cost under their contracts with the airlines Understandable; but you take on an element of risk (say if Regent makes changes to the cruise dates) unless the airline tickets you book are fully flexible. Also your booking with Regent will no longer be considered a "package" under the relevant UK regulations. Not sure what is happening between the cruise lines and the airlines but it is obvious from other threads that this is not just an issue for UK customers. We normally try to book our own air (using Avios & companion tickets) but we have just been on a Far East cruise where we used Regent air for the outbound flight to Bali; they secured an excellent deal with Qatar for us, significantly below the price we could have purchased lowest cost Business Class tickets direct from the airline.
  11. Has anyone experience of Regent's post cruise offerings in Greece? We are booked on a cruise ending in Athens (Piraeus) in the Spring of 2024. Two 3-night post cruise tours are offered: Ancient Greece & Wineries or Sacred Treasures of Greece Both visit Delphi; one visits the Acropolis and Meteora; the other Corinth & the Corinth Canal Any comments on the good, bad or indifferent would be very welcome. Thanks
  12. You may find these links of use: https://www.mi5.gov.uk/threat-levels https://www.gov.uk/terrorism-national-emergency https://uk.usembassy.gov/security-alert-u-s-embassy-london-28-march-2023/ Terrorist risks in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK go up & down over time depending on intelligence sources - as with most countries.
  13. Be careful what you wish for. There are often a few gremlins during a cruise immediately after a refurbishment 🤨 It may be on a charter for that week.
  14. Sometimes excursions later in the day meet on the dock or in the cruise terminal rather than in the theatre.
  15. In our experience Regent includes transfers for their pre- and post-cruise tours whether you are using Regent air or making your own arrangements. You simply have to inform Regent of your flight arrangements. Typical note for a Regent pre-cruise land tour: "Please Note: Guests booking their own flights (independent of the cruise line) are responsible for ensuring that the cruise line has the updated arrival information, so your transfer can be arranged. If you book additional nights independently of the cruise line, an arrival transfer is not provided. If we do not receive flight details a minimum of 14 days in advance, transfers will not be provided"
  16. One quote from FdR: "Our prices, compared to land-based vacations, are low -- too low," said Del Rio. "And over the last three years, that gap has increased. We're lagging behind. Why is that? Maybe we haven't focused enough on what product we're delivering. The cruise industry has not kept up with the demand that consumers want because the land-based vacations are eating our lunch." Sounds like prices will continue to rise ☹️. Probably not unexpected.
  17. On the previous cruise we enjoyed the paper making experience, although more could have been done to explain how the facility makes the various types & sizes of paper on display. The trip to see the Nagoya 'submersible' bridge was simply a way of filling the time while our paper samples dried (although we had a debate as to whether the finished paper that we were given at the end of the tour were actually the ones we made earlier? 🤔) Our guide gave strict repeated requests that no one should walk onto the bridge, but of course some had to ignore the warnings 🙄 We would rank this excursion as 7/10. Certainly not the best we have experienced with Regent; nor the worst.
  18. For us, one excursion is usually enough and we usually opt for the shorter offerings. We have occasionally done two short ones (one am, one pm) or maybe a short daytime tour plus an evening excursion if in port overnight ................ but only if the tours look to be very special. Sometimes we might do a short tour in the morning and then take the shuttle, if offered, into the local town in the afternoon. 75 minutes is the requisite time between tours to be able to book two in a day on line.
  19. I doubt if they are available on board. Try ringing Southampton; they probably still have them from when we in the UK used to receive the luxury pack.
  20. Hi Sheila, What was his reaction? Did he offer to take up the issue with Destinations staff? What was the outcome of your discussion? We have always found that Regent GMs close out issues brought to their attention.
  21. Read the FAQs on the RSSC website. Easily overlooked but includes lots of useful information. Be wary of what you read on social media, including CC. Remember that some of the information is personal opinion, not necessarily fact; and may have been posted by guests who have not sailed on Regent ships for some time, if at all 🤨 (Sorry I gave two pieces of advice, but the second was free ......... sorry, included 🙄)
  22. A massive generalisation that, in our experience, is not true for many excursions on most Regent cruises. Sorry that you had such a poor time on the tours that you chose on your first Regent cruise.
  23. See the following webpage https://www.nclhltd.com/investors/shareholder-benefits
  24. We arrived by sea into Tokyo. No testing required. We had a tour after leaving the ship so arrived at our hotel in the afternoon. See post #2 above. Since your cruise is still 9 months away I would not fret about covid testing prior to your embarkation. Just check any specific requirements when they are issued by Regent about 30 days before your cruise.
