  1. We have enjoyed sailing on both ships and they each have their own unique attributes. Since we are ambivalent about having a butler (nice to have but not essential) we opt for a G grade suite on Voyager; F2 on Explorer.
  2. Last time we were in Hong Kong before a Regent cruise was in 2019 and we arranged our own accommodation at the Marco Polo. Not the poshest hotel in HK but a good location and, if the ship is docked in Kowloon, very handy to have a short walk to the cruise check-in (with the hotel concierge taking the luggage for us 🙂)
  3. Full document pack or just the luggage tags?
  4. With the latest release of 2024/2025 sailings, Regent are scheduling cruises on Navigator through into 2025 🙂
  5. An interesting difference in terminology between Europe and North America! Maybe Regent (UK) is cognisant of the ASA or maybe we just find the word "free" even more grating than our cousins across the pond
  6. I think your September 2023 cruise on Splendor is scheduled to tender into Newhaven. From there it is about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride to the Britannia, which is moored in Leith harbour. Definitely worth a visit and, if Regent does not offer an excursion, tickets can easily be booked on-line.
  7. I cannot comment on Regent's email or postal advertising as we do not receive any. However the revamped RSSC website mostly uses the word "included" rather than the word "free" (certainly for the UK version of the website anyway). Screenshots of a couple of examples from the website below:
  8. Thanks for the two excellent blogs from Voyager. A very interesting itinerary. If anyone wants some more exposure to the Faroe Islands, the scandi drama "Trom" (Faroese for "edge") is worth a watch: For those in the UK it is available on BBC iPlayer
  9. We stayed at the Westin in Cape Town during a 3 night post-cruise with Regent in December 2018. Our room was comfortable & well appointed. Breakfast each day was excellent. The Westin is near the V&A Waterfront which, as others have said, is a very picturesque (& safe) part of Cape Town with many good shops and restaurants.
  10. You have more endurance than us; we did not make it as far as the second episode 😉
  11. 806, being an F2 grade, is an excellent suite. The offer for UK bookings to Alaska in 2023 at present is a 5 night pre-cruise inc Rocky Mountaineer for F grade & above on 3 specific cruises: https://www.rssc.com/specials/ultimate-alaska-uk The airline upgrade offer (UK bookings) is for Caribbean cruises: https://www.rssc.com/specials/elevate-your-experience-uk
  12. A clue to whether you might enjoy a deck party is if the speciality restaurant is marked as unavailable on one of the nights. It is not surprising that you have so many late departures as it is a very short cruising distance from one port to the next in that part of the Caribbean.
  13. If you want to go a little further afield take a taxi to the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. Highly recommended.
  14. We are happy with any of the suites in grades D, E & F on Splendor & Explorer. IMO, F2 are the best value. (On voyager we are more than happy with G, but not on Splendor or Explorer)
  15. We have done B2Bs with suite changes in the past. Just to reinforce advice already given: - Excursions for changeover day will be scheduled while you are on board your first segment. Check with Destination Services. - Your steward or butler will arrange the move of your belongings from one suite to another, without you needing to pack/unpack. Look after valuables yourself. - It is best to obtain your new keycard before leaving the ship; otherwise you may have difficulties with port security. Reception will be able to issue your new keycard as soon as the previous occupants have vacated (normally before 9am) - check nearer the date of your cruise what are the arrangements for covid testing for B2B guests. - Any other queries speak to Reception or the Executive Concierge during your first segment and they will ensure that the transition between B2B legs is seamless It is a wonderful feeling towards the end of the first segment knowing that you do not have to pack and make the journey to the airport just yet 😎
  16. You may get to enjoy an extravagant BBQ, music and dance on the pool deck on one of the late departure evenings 🙂. Not to be missed if arranged.
  17. 🤔 ?? Unlikely IMO to be a conspiracy by Regent as you suggest. Simply an error for which the customer deserves a fulsome apology and reimbursement for the downgraded flight.
  18. BA dropped the ball regarding the flight. Regent seem to have been atrocious in this case with their communication and customer care
  19. Surely you can claim on the cancellation section of your travel insurance? Most now cover for this eventuality.
  20. Sorry to hear of the problems with your flight. Very annoying & stressful. Some questions: 1. When BA advised Regent, did Regent advise your TA? 2. When BA cancelled the original flight which alternative flight did they book you onto? Same day or next day? 3. Did BA have your contact details? email and/or cell phone? 4. Did you try to check-in on-line 24 hours before the flight? Presumably you put the original flight number and time on the disembarkation form supplied by Destination Services. Understandable since you did not know of the change, but Destination Services would not have checked that the details you entered were incorrect. They would have simply scheduled you onto the bus that suited the flight details that you had given them. Since you were downgraded from Business class then BA should reimburse Regent who in turn should reimburse you. I cannot understand why Regent is not responding to your legitimate queries about this matter.
  21. I assume that the OP, @Borna, booked this in the U.S.A. where the reservation is "not transferable or assignable" For information, for those booking in the UK, the Regent (UK) Ts& Cs, clause 8(4), does allow transfer to another person for a nominal fee.
  22. Just had this happen. I thought CC techies had fixed this annoying glitch. Obviously not ☚ī¸
