Grandma Cruising

Just had another go and nothing showing via account sign in on front page of website, but if I used ‘Sign In’ on the online booking engine I can see my upcoming cruise, and the excursions, but they are all unpriced. The loyalty points are still wrong - both logins have me as an Adventurer with no points and the wrong membership number.

No kettles, but can get via room service or nipping up to Deck 9 to the 24 hour tea/coffee set up at the back of Windows buffet.

Shows no upcoming cruise & no loyalty points however I log in.

You’re assuming that RCCL had agreed to provide this information well ahead of the changeover date. There was no incentive for them to do this!

I couldn’t have put it better. Our last 2 cruises in October 22 and March 23 were every bit as good as the 11 we did before them.

Can you tell me whereabouts on the Azamara website you saw the shoreexcursions along with their price. I can’t see anything other than ‘Featured Shore Excursions’ on the entry for the cruise I’m going on in November, and none of them are priced.

Also on Deck 7 you are between 2 decks of cabins, no public rooms above or below, so it’s quieter.

If it is designated as for shore excursions, then that is all you can use it on. It’s also the same for OBC designated as for use in the Spa (for example in one of the Experience More packages) - that can only be used in the spa. Don’t be fooled about that on the ship - if your account shows on the TV, the OBC may not be separated out, but if you spend it on the wrong thing you may end up being charged. We got caught out by that last year when I bought shop items with Spa OBC and ended up paying something on my credit card, even though I thought we’d just spent OBC.

Hi there! As you know, we were on the same cruise as you. While I generally agree with you about ships excursions, we had two great excursions on that cruise. The first was in Salvador de Bahia where we did a drumming workshop. It was great - there were only 4 of us on it. It included a short walking tour of the old town with a guide who was a local and knew her stuff, then the workshop which was great fun, then a snack & drink in a lovely little restaurant. The second was a drive around La Palma. We stopped at two little towns & had time to look around and on the way back we drove along a road right next to the volcano ash field, which was amazing - on one side of the road the houses were fine, on the other side many were partially buried. Fascinating, and tragic - our bus driver had lost his house along with many other residents. We had also booked a ‘glass bottom catamaran’ tour which may be one of the ones you mentioned - we heard everyone had been refunded! Although it was on the first day, we were able to cancel because it was not going to be in a glass bottomed boat, as advertised.

It depends where you board! Didn’t work like that in Rio in March. Embarkation time was ignored. The terminal was full at 12 because Azamara picked everyone up from their hotels at 11:30am. Took us nearly 4 hours to get onboard & DH had to use a wheelchair because he can’t stand for too long & the queues were very long.

I’m pretty sure it’s all the same beds. Can’t say for certain because we always have a double, which is very large. The curtains are very thick and do block the light out very well.

Surprised your TA couldn’t put a hold on an OV cabin for you initially!

You must make sure you log off every time or you will waste minutes - as far as I can remember you have to type ‘log off’ into the search box, but as Beatrix says there will be instructions in your cabin, if not check with Guest Relations on Deck 4.

Well that doesn’t necessarily work. On our last cruise which was from Rio we went at our assigned time and were waiting nearly 4 hours. That was because Azamara decided to transfer everyone to the terminal at 11;30am regardless of their check in time. As a very large number of people had booked Azamara transport, the terminal was full at 12:00 and they started check-in at 2:00, with only 6 people on check-in desks!

For the Mosque, it’s not just long sleeves, but long trousers/skirts for ladies, plus for ladies a scarf to put over your hair. If not, you can hire garments there - a lady from our party who had cropped trousers on had to hire a long black gown. Another two ladies with cropped trousers had to borrow their husbands socks to cover their ankles.

I think you can only do that with the first TA’s agreement.
