  1. I wonder if they have been told they have to check room numbers for drinks packages. On Quest in October/November they checkevevery time, even staff who knew us very well.
  2. Excellent description of Azamara - chimes with us perfectly.
  3. Ship - Quest Cabin Number - 7102 Month/Year sailed - October/November 2022 Would you choose this room again? - Yes Is noise an issue - No, very quiet. Balcony Size - standard balcony
  4. No they haven’t. If you meet another couple who plan to eat at the same time as you, you can ask to change your table from 2 to 4.
  5. Don’t agree that Azamara is not good for transoceanic cruises. We’ve done one transatlantic with Azamara & have another booked for March 2023. We’ve also done the Athens to Dubai route 4 times, which is similar to a transoceanic cruise as it has a lot of sea days. We love the ambience on board, the service, the food etc. We don’t need to be entertained all the time - we love relaxing on a sun bed with a good book, chatting to interesting people (& Azamara”s passengers are mostly well travelled & interesting to talk to) etc so lots of sea days suits us just fine.
  6. You can book them now, then once onboard cancel, with the refund going back to your credit card, then immediately rebook using your OBC, so long as the excursion is over 48 hours after the start of the cruise . Note though that overnight excursions and certain other special excursions may have a longer cancellation time - check the brochure.
  7. As Jazzbeau says choice is good. Sounds like Azamara is not your cup of tea. If Azamara had piped music I, and many others I think, would have to find another cruise line. We enjoy the peace and quiet around the pool and we like the chance to talk comfortably to people in the bars.
  8. I tried lots of the gin & vodka cocktails on Quest last month - loved Berry Berry Gin - Gin & Chambord.
  9. May be worth leaving it a while then trying it again. May also be worth clearing your browser history first.
  10. Just seen a post on the other social media site from a passenger on the Journey. She says she’s been told that because she has a yellow fever exemption certificate (I.e. hasn’t had the vaccination) she can’t go ashore in any other African country if she wants to enter South Africa.
  11. Having done this route 3 times we found this time to be very different from previously, (although I can’t comment about Israel as it wasn’t included previously). Never had to have any face-to-face interviews before, even when disembarking in the Dubai the evening before the normal disembarkation. I also don’t remember the to and fro of passports so often before, or immigration officers waiting at the bottom of the gang-plank so often.
  12. The previous administration was looking at this, but the new local council (Liberal Democrat instead of Labour) are less keen.
  13. Just done a bit more research on this issue and found that the zero emissions policy is from 2026, so Fjord stops should be possible until then. https://www.marinelink.com/news/catching-cruise-offguard-norways-466482
  14. One of the issues is that some of the nicest ports can no longer be visited by ‘normal’ cruise ships. These are mostly Fjord ports like Flam & Geiranger who will only allow ships that produce zero emissions. Other than those two, I would say the Lofoten Islands are a must. The scenery is spectacular. Bergen is lovely and it’s good to go to the North Cape (port might be Honnisvag)
  15. Winter view of the Humber Bridge & of the river on a lovely sunny morning.
  16. Found the page to check if you can apply for an upgrade on the Azamara Australian website https://www.azamara.com/en-au/azamara-upgrade- program You don’t need to get an email to apply.
  17. Azamara Circle is Azamara’s loyalty club so if you have ever been on Azamara you are a member of Azamara Circle (used to be called ‘Le Club Voyage’
  18. Speciality coffees are included and Mosaic coffee bar is open all day to provide them. Neither port or cognac are included. I think Aperol spritz is included. You can bring as much of any type of alcohol on board as you want & consume it in your cabin. If you want to consume it in a public area there is a $10 corkage fee. Wine and all other included drinks are available at all bars whenever they are open. Sparkling water is not San Pellegrino.
  19. Did you try the Energiser from the smoothie bar. On Quest they had a different Energiser every day. They all had ginger in them, but different other fruits (&veg - one had Beetroot)
  20. I found this on the UK web page. It allows you to check if you are eligible to bid. https://www.azamara.co.uk/azamara-upgrade-program
  21. On our recent cruise we booked 3 excursions for our March cruise getting 10% discount for doing so. Just had a look and they are in the Black Friday sale, but all are more than we paid, a couple considerably more.
  22. Maybe I‘m looking somewhere different, but through Azamara.co.uk this morning I can go through the booking process to see all stateroom category availability without having to enter any information
