  1. The rhetorical question is how much money will RCG give X to play with for product development? I for one would love some new experiences and have always been baffled to why X never set up a golf simulators
  2. Unfortunately with fees they do, room service and additional lobster tails
  3. If you ask for a whole pizza they'll give it to you as long as you're willing to wait
  4. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is they were reporting a datapoint that their ship took an extra 40mins or so to clear I'll also add, if you have checked luggage on a domestic flight, the cutoff they can accept luggage is 45mins (at FLL at least) prior to the scheduled takeoff We personally have no problem taking the gamble of making an early domestic flight because we'll get on a later one if we miss it; however as stated above if this stresses you out, just book the later flight
  5. 100% agree...If X wants to keep the IVs, fine, yet for every IV cabin there should be a traditional balcony. We can pretty safe to say the Eden space and magic carpet were a miss. For the Eden, the original "whimsical" concept was to have an ongoing show all evening, you could pop in at anytime and stay for 15mins or 3 hours. Now more often than not they just have musicians play in Eden but the musicians could (and do) play anywhere on the ship Magic carpet is a gimmick that fixes a tender problem that never existed. It makes tendering slightly easier, but at what costs? It creates several obstructed viewed staterooms, had a lot of R&D costs and requires ongoing maintenance, surely X is passing those costs onto its passengers All and all, we'll see with the next class of ships if X continues with the magic carpet, Eden and traditional balcony % vs IV %
  6. Perhaps to the X cheerleaders who haven't been on other lines but CC as a whole doesn't think so
  7. Thanks for sharing... If you miss your early flight, with most domestic airlines (double check their policies) you can simply rebook to a later flight with availability. If this uncertainty triggers one's stress/anxiety, then book the later flight
  8. X's IG account had a naming poll on it, it was either Excel or Vertex, I haven't heard if they shared the poll results It'll have the most suites of any X ship and most likely the largest/nicest spa. Probably everything else is an evolution compared to a revolution
  9. First question is, are your trying to exhaust some OBC? If yes there are better ways. Solstice does have one but like all X ships, they do not sell current generation products and you can often find these older generation products cheaper from a real apple store
  10. When life gives you lemon...This is a credit card point churn opportunity...Whichever credit card they charged, lock it and when you speak to X about the refund request they refund a different card. That way you get to keep the gained credit cards points/miles/cashback/etc
  11. Thanks for sharing about the 3 days, I was only locked out once and while was told the lock lasts the entire sailing, I was on the 3rd to last day
  12. With X, in 2023, we got some new fees, cutbacks, fare increases and zero benefits for the passengers. That was just outright lazy by X as the creative ones sprinkle in some benefits for the cruise passengers along with the cutbacks. For example, up until recently CCL, RCI and X all were offering multiple SPINY lobster tails for free, then all three lines changed by starting to charge a roughly $17 fee for additional tails. RCI/CCL at least changed the tails to the more desirable MAINE lobster tail but X being X, kept the Spiny
  13. No-no, keep it the way it is...We love the pricing errors such as the $10 wifi upgrade for the entire sailing and 7 nights in skysuite for around $5000 all in per couple on their newest ship the Ascent
  14. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is the dining changes were only a drop in the bucket compared to the massive increase with cruise fares
  15. I'm on team traditional balcony but I'd take the perceived balcony downgrade to be on X's newest ship, the Beyond. You have the option to dine in Le Voyage, Eden specialty restaurant and have the complimentary Eden Cafe
  16. This past october a stop in Pureto Vallarta was canceled due to a storm, I went to guest services to see if I could get a PV tax refund and was told no, X doesn't refund when ports of calls are missed. It's possible GS was wrong or it only applies to weather related issues but just wanted to point out X may not refund under certain circumstances
  17. Disclaimer, for some reason I always get dirty looks when I walk into the X-Club (kids) with a drink
  18. That's correct but you are not blocked from the ability to cash out, your account just gets flagged and you cannot gamble on that sailing until you talk and convince a casino staff member to remove the flag which is easy to do. However the best strategy is to gamble like normal all sailing long then on the last day, to do the OBC room charge and cash out
  19. The way to get the lowest price on a sailing is ability to be flexible. Everything you said is true however I just wanted to point out that X, like most of travel industry, utilize the dynamic pricing model where fares increase as supply decreases. Usually, the way to get the cheapest price is to book a sailing that has a "fire sale" roughly six weeks before the sail date. If a couple is retired and therefore flexible to travel at time, if the goal is to save money, booking a year out most likely isn't a good idea. Obviously, it doesn't apply to all sailing such as one-off itineraries, etc Disclaimer that this won't work for everyone...For those who work and need to take vacation time, some just wrongly assume they need to lock in a specific date range months in advance. However, many bosses do not care if you say something like "Thinking of taking a week-long cruise in August but won't book or have the date range until July, as long I as (establish backup, finish my tasks, etc) would that be a problem?"
  20. You want a room charge on a slot machine and cashout
  21. My first X cruise in 2019, my bag never made it off the ship until the next sailing and they shipped it express to me for free. Compensation wise I was offered UP TO $250 and there's a recent post pandemic report that they're still giving $250:
  22. I believe what would be helpful are barcode stickers with the crew scanning the barcode each time it changes hands but as I stated above, extremely doubtful that's happening anytime soon. A terminal porter receipt is pointless unless they're tracking it (such as barcodes and scanners) because it isn't like guest services is debating whether or not you dropped your bag off with a porter or not
