  1. International flights can be the problem but it appears you'll be fine flying domestically The six month rule are usually from airlines when flying to certain foreign places. A friend was unable to fly Delta from LAX to Cabo Mexico because their passport was less than six month from expiring; they could catch a bus to Tijuana Mexico and fly from there to Cabo since it was now a Domestic (Mexico to Mexico) flight
  2. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is X intentionally does this to save money as they know the last night is the least visited night. Many do not want to get dressed up, go to a 90mins-2 hour dinner or potentially get anxiety about not yet being packed. Lastly, its well-known that many staff members including the waitstaff could fish for tips on the last night and some want to avoid that. In my experience they're not bad, they can be a bit more friendly and try to have longer conversations but it isn't bad; its nothing compared to some of the bad porters I've experienced...Example of one of the worst porters, something like: "We a team baby <puts out fist to fist bump>...You take good care of me and I'll take good care of your bags...Teamwork makes the dream work, baby!"
  3. Additionally, if there's ever a freak accident of the ship colliding into something, even if it wasn't X's fault, if the M.C. gets damaged they'd need to do some major engineering along side all phases of the repair...All that gets bundled into X's ship's insurance premiums
  4. Got it, which ship? I'll share my specifics if anyone cares...Edge in the summer of 2021, wasn't busy; 65% capacity sailing in the Caribbean...Recently off the Beyond, also wasn't busy, 75% capacity sailing in Europe
  5. With the hotel, budget is a big question as if a hotel is $150/night and is charging $20 for breakfast, wouldn't that be better than a hotel charging $250/night but with free breakfast? Some hotels offer a free or discounted shuttle, if not most use ride share (uber or lyft). Zip lining with the sloths, good snorkeling and diving for those who want to get into the water
  6. Ditto...Worse, due to the ongoing maintenance, I'm sure it slightly increases your cruise fare. It was expensive to build, there's on going maintenance and it can block the views from staterooms. Does X think the magic carpet was worth the cost (rhetorical)?
  7. Walked by several times on 2 sea days, everyone who was there was either at the bar or at the hi-top; no one was sitting anywhere. I wouldn't exactly call it a gimmick but if I could take a Vegas bet on whether or not the next class of ships will have it, it wouldn't
  8. If you're dropping off luggage to the porters put it in that luggage vs carrying on. The carry on XRay folks are far more likely to pull questionable items for further review; you'd still get it on but may require needing to report to guest services at a specific time. We had to board the Reflection in FLL in the spring of '22 later than planned and there were no porters working, had to carry everything on and had a small fan confiscated by the terminal XRay team, it was deemed fine by X but in order to get it back I had to set up an appt with guest services which they told me could only be picked up at 715pm (during a show) if I wanted it that night. Never had an issue getting the same fan on X if I put it in the checked/porter luggage
  9. It says in the daily planner print out to report to guest services at least 24 hours before your departure to set it up. I'm guessing that attempting to pre-arranging shore-side wouldn't result in receiving the incorrect info and you'll ultimately be told to take care of it once on board
  10. They request you go to guest services at least 24 hours before you want to leave the ship
  11. The test: “True/False, this lecture will continuously be on your stateroom TV for the rest of this sailing…”
  12. Finally, a win for us peasants who don't book suites...We don't get to see X's dirty Luminae window since we're not allowed in...lol
  13. My own first hand experience is the seating isn't all that comfortable particularly during long periods of time. Many loungers (way more comfortable and the back has an adjustable recline angle) have a simular view
  14. It's not very popular except during sailaway
  15. Even if one was available it would most likely be around the same price as AQ
  16. @Jim_Iain congrats! You absolutely should email the the exec team, they always seem to actually care when their retreat guests have issues
  17. Not to worries, Celebrity will find ways to separate you from your money 😎
  18. Correct, just a dog and pony show.l, which is allowed in some countries who want the tax revenues or some other benefits
  19. Virtually all clothing (except maybe .1%) are made by laborers from 3rd world countries
  20. What number did you call? Having the same issues
  21. If it makes one feel safer, go for bottled water yet just know while rare, there has been cases of bottled water being contaminated or “imperfect”
  22. Seen “dress code violations” at every meal (usually Blu, sometimes specialties or the MDR) in both the Carribean and Europe. Americans tend to dress the exact same which for men can include Tshirts or rash guards…Europeans men have slightly higher odds of wearing a collared polo/button down. Another difference is European men often avoid hats of any kind
  23. Sure, but we’re still assuming…Looking for actual closure which we don’t have some was hoping someone on here had the scoop. If anyone cares enough they can email the exec offices
  24. What I highlighted is what OP originally asked; it appears no one knows for sure. Totally understand your opinion that you wouldn't want to be there with a RCI ship. I personally have mixed feelings about going there on an X cruise yet I'd prefer Coco Cay over certain ports like, off the top of my head, Nassau, Costa Maya or any Jamaican port
