  1. We have unfortunately decided to hold off on cruising as still covid on the ships & quarantine. We have flown a couple times within our own country (Canada) to see our grandkids that live across the country. We really miss cruising though. As 4* we would really love to be on a ship and hoping early next year.
  2. Thanks for your observations on your cruise. I enjoying reading reviews from others. We are not ready yet to get on any ship but sure miss cruising. Doubt it will ever be back to what we were used to but will give it a try on a shorter cruise before we book a long one.
  3. Totally agree with you about how we feel about the HIA as well. HAL used to be a classy organization but they have changed directions.
  4. Glad you got shut eye on the driving part, lol. Sounds like a long, but nice day. Off to your blog I have book marked!
  5. On a short cruise like 7 days I’d pick a verandah. On a longer cruise, like 21 days, that’s when we enjoy a Neptune suite especially before we were 4* with the free laundry the suite offered.
  6. Thank you so much for the update. I had first heard this on a FB post of what happened but then he removed the post. Found more on CC and am happy for the updates people have provided. Told my husband you just never know what might happen. I had worried those on that excursion with wet & dirty clothes so thanks for your post that they were taken care of. Hope the 2 taken by ambulance will be ok.
  7. Just catching up on your posts. Such beautiful photos and videos. I have always loved the Royal Hawaiian (I call it the pink palace since my parents took me there when I was 15 years old). Thanks for taking us along on your cruise.
  8. I’m so happy to read you are free now!!! Enjoy your fresh air and the rest of your vacation.
  9. Yes. We walked off the ship & booked the West beach 6 hour tour. (They were under a big white tent.) We were with our son and daughter in law and enjoyed it. Beach stop, snorkel with turtles.
  10. So glad they got a great welcome back to the ship. What a relief. Sure they’ll all sleep well tonight.
  11. Yes, can’t they allow you outside in fresh air twice a day for 30 minutes? They have to be able to do that. Ugh.
  12. You are doing much better than I would unless I had a large book of sudoku puzzles. Hoping “their” test is negative too. Thanks for keeping us updated.
  13. A member of the FB group posted this: The captain said the tour group all have their passports with them and will let us know when they are on their way to the ship. However, they were still at the Marriott hotel. And we will go through the Panama canal on time as scheduled. We made up the time during the night, and we were only 1 1/2 hours in leaving the port of Punta Arenas in Costa Rica.
  14. Further to this person on FB, looks like he’s removed his post probably because some were not very polite/sympathetic. Hoping he will be ok once he realizes HAL is trying.
  15. He was very upset that the excursion wasn’t cancelled due to stormy weather. Mentioned they were soaking wet and of course no other clothes to put on.
  16. There is a person on FB, a 4* mariner, who is very, very upset as he was on this excursion. Wish he’d post on here to know HAL is doing the best they can.
  17. Being claustrophobic I can’t imagine either.
  18. Oh no…my mouth dropped when I read you tested positive. We’ve also remained covid free and is one of the reasons we have not cruised yet. At least you’ll be 5 days not 10. Fingers crossed for you.
  19. Just remembered you were blogging! Thanks for doing this-was just reading & looking at your photos.
  20. Exactly. When I took our daughter on a partial Panama cruise a few years back we had to make an unscheduled stop outside of Acapulco-hovered out at sea & a boat came to get the patient. The next day the Captain said he wasn’t sure we’d make it back on time in Ft Lauderdale but on a side note he said the patient was doing very well so that was good.
  21. I’ve seen videos that have been posted on helicopter evacuations and that’s good enough for me! I do like how the Captain announces an update if the person is doing well.
  22. We’ve never experienced being on a ship with a helicopter evacuation only once we had to stop at an unscheduled port for a medical evacuation but not helicopter. Good luck and hope no more medical stuff! Enjoy following along & your photos, especially snorkel ones.
  23. Oh gosh, a lot of medical issues for this cruise. Hope this person/persons will be ok.
