  1. They used to take place around 5pm or 6pm on embarkation day. And senior offices would attend and we would have to introduce ourselves and there was nibbles and drinks. I seem to remember that badges were provided for you to put your name on.
  2. If this is November 2024 we’ll be sailing with you. I have to say that St Helena was a selling point but not the be all and end all. Also, after 12 years of sailing with Azamara, we finally get to board Quest! We enjoy the sea days and do many transatlantic crossings and Azamara provide plenty of activities to keep us entertained.
  3. I got the same email and I have no cruises booked for South America 🤷‍♀️

    New website.

Yes, I can now see both the cruise I booked last year and the one I booked last week together on the new version of the website. Incorrect loyalty level and cruise nights, but we’re getting there 🤞
  5. We were in 529 on Silver Moon and going in 529 later this year on Silver Dawn. Great cabin, ideal location, no noise from Dolce Vita or laundry room. Centrally located.
  6. The last time we were in Dubai we used Uber to and from the cruise terminal to the airport.

    New website.

My account is correct, loyalty level, points, existing booking details, OBC, etc. I’ve been checking it since the changeover. Here’s hoping it stays like that.🤞
  8. We used the thermal suite on Borealis in March. We paid £140 and that allowed my husband and I exclusive use for one hour each day of our cruise. So we went at 6pm (it had to be booked in advance) and used the jacuzzi, steam room and the heated beds plus we had a great view over the sea. There is a balcony you can sit out on but it was too cold for us to do that. It was very relaxing and set us up for the evening, especially if we’d had a busy day ashore.
  9. We visited the Crown Grill twice on our recent Regal cruise. Whilst the food was good, the service was poor. The servers had little time to explain the menu, they were rushing around and it was not an enjoyable ambience. Sabatini’s was far superior in service and the Symphony restaurant was excellent. I was so disappointed in the Crown Grill as they asked if each visit was for a special occasion and I told them it was for our birthdays. There was no mention of our birthdays at each visit. I think they were just too busy which I is a shame so I won’t be visiting there again.
  10. We’re having our first Azamara cruise since 2019 next year. We should have been in South Africa in January this year but that was cancelled so we are going from Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale on the Onward in November. Can’t wait to cruise with Azamara again.
  11. Just looking at the price of Around the world in 80 days, and it hasn’t increased much compared to the price it went on sale at in March 2021 🤷‍♀️ .
  12. We got off the tender in the harbour, walked through walled part of the old town to the other side and the mini buses were waiting on the main road. It was extremely busy and the traffic hold ups were unbelievable but there were two large ships in the cruise terminal so I think we were lucky getting the tender into the old town.
  13. Thanks for your replies. As I have had one cruise with Saga and no plans for any more, the Britannia club isn’t for me.
  14. I have sailed once with Saga and have heard of the Britannia Club and seen it mentioned on this forum. Are you invited to join and is it a loyalty scheme? Are there points awarded and special events depending on the level you are? Thanks
  15. I understood the OP to mean that the wine he received was in the £8 price range in a supermarket, and not in the £20 + range, which is what he expects for a ultra luxury cruise line.
  16. Can anyone help? I live 70 miles from the airport and, according to the Blacklane app, my journey will cost £270 each way. How much of that estimate does Silversea cover? Is it 50 miles, which I worked out to be about £192 and I pay £78? For one way? Thanks
  17. We were in Minorca in June on another cruise ship and is was a lovely port. A lovely leisurely sail in and a beautiful island for excursions and a beautiful sail away. Hope you manage to get there.
  18. I have booked a classic veranda suite and my friend has booked a vista suite, and her accommodation is marked as “waitlisted”. Does that mean that she could, potentially, get the same suite as me for a lesser price? Or does everyone get bumped up to accommodate her? Or does she pay extra for the upgrade? Just wondering 🧐
  19. We were on Spirit of Discovery in June and found the ship to be very cramped in eating places with tables for two people so close together that the servers couldn’t get between them. Also, the ship lacked areas for socialising outside in the evenings as the pool bar closed at 6pm and there is no other bar outside. There is also a lack of space for a pre-dinner drink as there is one bar adjacent to five restaurants. I loved the Britannia lounge which is the “observation “ lounge as it is huge, airy with a good sized dance floor. Also, there are plenty of sunbathing areas around the upper decks outside but no bar service and the area around the Lido pool is cramped. The food was good and the staff were friendly. We had a standard cabin which was limited in storage space but adequate. I think there must have been some problems as you couldn’t walk around the upper decks with getting soot on your clothes. The included insurance and door to door transport service make it an ideal cruise line for those with health and mobility problems. I’m glad we tried Saga as the ship was beautiful but it’s not for us as there were too many issues that weren’t dealt with properly.
  20. But there is a video of him doing his ABBA dancing around the Silver Dawn pool in a sparkly jumpsuit and platform boots on Facebook. I think some of the Silversea passengers are in shock at their new CD 😆.
  21. We received nothing from Saga and had to phone them the week before departure to get that information. We were given labels when we arrived at the ship.
  22. We would need 4 trains from our home to Dover and a transfer between stations in London and we couldn’t find a company that could take our luggage ahead so that was a problem. We live 80 miles from an airport which doesn’t help so we took the offer of a private car.
  23. We are travelling down using the car service the day before and staying in Dover overnight.
  24. How do you get this information? Is it via MySaga or do they post it to you? We have had no information or tickets for this cruise.
