  1. Huh? I’m new here. What does this mean? Are you saying that I have to prepay my grats prior to sailing? Otherwise, they automatically remove them at the end of the cruise?
  2. You may only take unopened, packaged foods like granola bars. Please be kind to your host countries.
  3. I played about $1500 on the slots last cruise and got about $1000 back. Is that enough?
  4. So I am going on my first Ultra cruise in March. I’ve never received any Elite offers. What are the chances of me receiving an Elite offer? I only play slots.
  5. Now see, everyone’s experience and luck on this differs. It’s the luck of the draw. I am confident my PVP would go to bat for me if needed. I called Carnival and a PVP answered. That was 10 years ago and I’ve booked 20-plus cruises with her. She’s from some other country and she’s wonderful. And she ends every phone call with “Take care, Love” LOL.
  6. I’ve cruised 7 times last year. This year, so far I have 3 scheduled within the next 3 months. I have been getting casino offers all this time. Free inside and ocean view. No balconies. Therefore, I don’t think it has a lot to do with having some already booked. Because I have them and I’m still getting offers. As pe4all said, how much time you spend in the casino matters. Also, I check offers a few times each day. I recently received an ultra offer. Never even went on a premier before so I’m not sure why they sent that Ultra. We paid full price for the balcony on MG, received NO fun play, only drinks in casino. Not really a good deal but I’m dragging DH on the ultra just to see what it’s like. Maybe I will score an elite offer 🤷‍♀️ someday. I hope you get some offers soon.
  7. Wow! Really?!? We’re scheduled for Rudi’s on the first night on Mardi Gras this March. It would sure be nice to have a complimentary bottle there.
  8. Well, I guess I should just stay with My Time. Or the buffet. Eating late is not for me. They’ve stuck me a few times in the main thoroughfare at a 2-top and I didn’t like it. It’s like I-95 with a parade of people constantly walking by on both sides of my dinner plate. I will see if I can get a table in the corner or something. Thanks all.
  9. I’m going solo on a last minute cruise. My only dining choices were My Time or Late. I chose My Time. I’m wondering if it would be possible when I board to ask the dining room if I can switch to Early dining at a solo traveler table. Is that a thing? A table of solo travelers?
  10. LOL. No! You SHOULD pick it up and either leave it on a table in the atrium, put it around the handrail inside an elevator, or on the lido where someone would use it. Otherwise, we may never get through these. 😎 I’m not a soda or beer drinker but I’m curious if they even work as I would think that given the fact that nothing is covering the bottom of the beer bottle or can, doesn’t the water leak out the bottom? Or maybe they’re for keeping it cold?
  11. Yeah. Good luck. I’m somewhat new to Royal. All I wanted was to change my dining time and I sat on hold for 45 minutes to speak to someone. Ridiculous. This simple task should have been able to be accomplished on line. SMH.
  12. I learned a lesson a few months ago on the MG where the paper said to go to the dining room at 730 for plat self debark. At 7:10, they announced that the ENTIRE ship could self debark. 😳. The elevators and hallways were completely clogged. Tempers were flaring. I now go down earlier than the time that they indicate as I have an 8 hour drive too.
  13. This is what I’m talking about when I say check offers daily. This wasn’t in my offers yesterday. The cruise is in 4 days.
  14. We were on MG on January 2, 2022. No problems with the ship rocking. Approximately 11 months later on Dec 3, 2022, it was rocking so bad that my husband spent the better part of the week horribly seasick. So we were surprised at the difference. In fact, fellow passengers were talking about how bad it was. The seas were pretty rough. So I don’t think it had anything to do with the ship itself unless something was broken.
  15. Here is another option and you can see the reviews. https://www.resortpass.com/hotels/british-colonial-hotel
  16. Same here. We’ve been saving flight miles and Hilton points for a few years. I love sailing from SJ and that route. Haven’t sailed from there since Carnival quit sailing from there. We love the Caribe Hilton.
  17. I have had some “free” ocean views and interiors with DOU in casino for me and companion since December and these have now continued into Jan and Feb, which is not too bad. Plus $200 free play. Just FYI, if you receive casino offers, you should look them up DAILY because in the last few days, they’ve opened up more weeks in the next 2 months whereas before, they only were allowing me to book in Nov or later. I just checked and they will allow me to book these for this month and February. I already have 2 upcoming cruises booked
  18. I’m not. LOL. Tables are too intimidating and I have numbers dislexia. Can’t remember numbers or add numbers to save my life. So much so that my family makes fun of me 😞
  19. It looks like I spend more time and money in the casino than you. I’ve never been offered a balcony or drinks all over. I guess Carnival knows that I will keep coming back. Not forever though, because I’m going over to Royal for the first time in 25 years. Maybe I’ll get offers over there. 😁
  20. I’m not sure what little bit means, but I dropped a lot (for me) on a cruise in September and received offers about 2 weeks later. Free interior and DOU. Meh. On our last cruise about a month ago, I AGAIN spent way too much in the casino. I’ve gambled more in the last 3 cruises than I have ever. Still only received small offers like free interiors with DOU. At this rate, my DH will divorce me. Hopefully you’ll get something in a few weeks but I think it takes time. Maybe you can take advantage of one of your friends offers and switch rooms.
  21. The first cruise I booked with Carnival was back in 2009 and was a penthouse suite. I booked it with a “cruise manager” at the local TA office. Never tried to get me a price match, and I couldn’t get an invoice from her. No OBC. No champagne; nothing for our anniversary. Back in the 80s, another TA made payroll with my cash and I lost $900 on that one because I didn’t have a credit card. They then filed bankruptcy. 🤷‍♀️ There must be good TAs out there but I haven’t found one. And I have quit looking. Good luck.
  22. I’ve actually done this home made Chex mix several times. I don’t put nuts. Just pretzels, cereal, gold fish. Sometimes Chinese crackers. To the person who said to bring it in the original containers, since it’s made with margarine and spices and cooked at a low temp, that wouldn’t work. I need something crunchy to snack on at night and the stuff carnival offers is too heavy and calorie dense. As I have said previously, giving little bowls of free spicy nibbles would probably increase drinking amongst those of us who would never get the cheers package but still drink a good amount. I suggested that to J Heald years ago online and his shortsighted response was something about guests digging in the same bowls would be unsanitary. 🙄 SMH😔
  23. No doughnuts in MDR or buffet. Here’s the doughnut menu at the JavaBlue cafe. No plain or glazed. I’m guessing they’re $2-3 each. Donuts Torched Meringue: Madagascar vanilla, slow-cooked Italian meringue Guava Cream Cheese: brioche donut, condensed guava & cream center, feuilletine Strawberry: natural strawberry preserve, brûlée custard Bacon Caramel: hickory smoked bacon, maple glazed, sea salt caramel Dark Chocolate: nutty butter, cocoa glaze, ginger cookie crumble Vanilla: coconut flan custard, crackling metallic caramel Introducing new items to your child while on a cruise is the perfect time. In fact, some folks have their kids eat off the adult menu for that purpose. Maybe use this as an opportunity for that. His future spouse will thank you for it.
  24. I’m not too crazy about the Sunshine’s protein options. Unless they have salmon which is rare. The first thing I do is walk over to Cucina and get 2 orders of just shrimp. They’re bigger shrimp. Then over to Mongolian and get a bowl of the veggies , noodles etc. Takes a little longer but the results are delicious. 😁
  25. If you’re in a suite, then after going into the priority area, stay over to the doors on the LEFT as that’s the door the suite people go through. People tend to not listen to instructions and walk over there only to be told you’re not going through the door unless you’re in a suite. Then the whole doorway gets gridlocked and you can’t get through.
