  1. And this can also work in reverse. Although I sail both Carnival and Royal, I have heard many on Carnival says they would never sail Royal, just because of a few jerks. Mob mentality takes over and a lot of people have never even sailed on the other cruise line they are putting down.
  2. I just like to practice writing with a pen, whether it’s needed or not. After pretty much typing everything nowadays, I’ve noticed my handwriting has gotten a little rusty. 😉
  3. If you do the extended version that goes over the sides on seas days, it is $19. They have free up and down rides in port. The free rides you reserve once you are on board. The extended versions can be reserved prior to boarding.
  4. Now you’re really going to confuse the OP…LOL I have been explaining this law for 15 years, especially living in Seattle area. And I’m sure you know exactly which cruises I’m talking about. 😉
  5. Check YouTube and Amazon has kits. She can also check Ravelry and search crochet ducks.
  6. For a change of pace, my room attendant gave me some candy from her country of China. I had her for 54 nights and became close. I would always ask her if she needed anything from ports and she always said no. She was a delight.
  7. My granddaughter would love these. They are so cute. She was recently on the Wonder and collected 15 ducks. Searching for ducks and trivia are her favorite things to do on the ship. I crochet, but have never attempted animals. My daughter says I should try, and I told her she needs to learn to crochet. 🤣. She already has me working on a sweater for her.
  8. Is that the Royal final payment or the TA final payment? Some TA’s will have the due date a week before they are actually due by the cruise line.
  9. Not sure if that would, but maybe call and have the 2 cruises linked together.
  10. I turned Diamond on a second leg back in 2019, but my card was Diamond for first leg also.
  11. I wonder if it was being replaced, because I was on the Ovation in March from Australia for 5 legs and it was always there. I could have sworn I saw people getting coffee there, but maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it was just set up, but not working.
  12. That’s a one way…a RT is when you start in one city and end in the same city, just like flying.
  13. LOL…I just finished 54 (B5B) nights in May, as a solo, and I’m still where I started.
  14. They just changed them on the Ovation in May. My room attendant let me keep the old one. Only one side is magnetic.
  15. On my recent B5B on Ovation, they had gone to 2 liter jugs of distilled. I hope this is the norm now for ships, as I saw a lot of waste on shorter (7 or less days), with the gallon jugs. Now my cruises started in Australia, so maybe that is what they supply. Maybe some cpap’s use more water, but I barely made a dent in the gallon.
  16. This is why I use an airline mileage credit cards. I use Alaska Air card and take advantage of their bogo sales every few months. I also pay off my card monthly.
  17. My daughter just got off the ship today and had interior on deck 7. No issues.
  18. I was also on this one, but embarked on Mar 27, and went all the way home to Seattle. Luckily I could do that, since I got on the ship in Sydney.
  19. I just pulled up plan and sail to on website, and I didn’t see any repo options. Not sure why it isn’t showing. Makes it difficult for those looking for repo cruises, or I’m just looking in wrong place.
  20. This is due to Passenger Vessel Service Act, although reps still refer to it as Jones act, which is cargo. There are literally hundreds of threads on this and always seems to happen on the repos to Australia. People want to do both Alaska and Hawaii. Changing to a ship that starts in Vancouver for Alaska, change ship out of Seattle for Alaska leg, or add the TP to Australia are your choices. And they should have told this when you booked.
  21. I believe Cunard is your only choice for consistent RT’s between Europe and US. Most cruise lines do their Eastbound TA’s in the spring and westbound return late summer/early fall.
  22. In 2016, I did 2 Europe cruises and then the TA on the Vista. I prefer Westbound TA’s. I just finished a B5B on the Ovation of the Seas from Australia. It included legs to South Pacific, New Zealand, TP, Hawaii and Alaska. Next year I will be on the Panorama from Singapore to Long Beach. I did the reverse on the Splendor in 2019. Enjoy your retirement. There’s a whole big world to cruise to now.
  23. I don’t see any repo cruises listed for Carnival right now, only TA’s and TP’s. It might be easier to start with where you want to cruise to. How many days are you looking at? Most Carnival cruises over 9 days are called Journey cruises. Even a 3/4 day combined is a B2B, so narrowing down your choices might help.
