  1. Normally the shows that can be reserved, will show up on planner around the first of month, previous to your cruise. So yours would be Dec 1. Now that has been closest to normal time frame, but my show up a bit sooner or later. I would start looking at website for reservations maybe mid November. Muster is easy. Sometimes if you hop on ship Wi-Fi in terminal, you can watch it on the app, and then just go check in at muster station when you board. Also, you may get offered 3 day, 5 day package dinner deals, or unlimited, which also includes lunches at specialty restaurants. It’s all about keeping an eye on your planner, either website or app.
  2. You should get a letter in your cabin on boarding day, stating all your benefits as Diamond. I will be going on my first Celebrity cruise next year, and looking forward to Elite level there.
  3. What loyalty level are you on Celebrity? May qualify you as Diamond on Royal, and get 4 free drink vouchers, to be used anytime during the day.
  4. There is no set price. They fluctuate from ship to ship, and each cruise. Plan on about $75-90pp, plus 18% gratuity on the package. Shorter cruises usually run a little more than longer cruises.
  5. Several factors would be a big NO for me, but I don’t know what your patience/tolerance level is. If what people mentioned doesn’t bother you, then go for it.
  6. 7 day cruises aren’t Journey cruises. Journey cruise are normally 9/10+ days.
  7. There is no Royal ship today. NCL, MSC and CCL are the 3 ships.
  8. In the app, pick head icon upper right, select a different cruise, browse our ships, Radiance, and then go to current sailing. You can go to each day cruise planner, and around 5ish see dress for the evening
  9. I think it was Fairwind in 1980. It was 11 night to Caribbean. Also sailed 10 or 11 day Fairsea to Mexico. Might have the 2 backwards. Did 4 Sitmar cruises, and Princess gave credit for them when Princess bought. That’s a good idea also. Might start doing that too.
  10. I always buy or now receive free my boarding day pic. I have them back to my first cruise in 1980 on Sitmar. Only missing a couple, which are probably somewhere in a box. It shows ports of call. Check those if you have, but might be a good idea going forward to get one.
  11. A new cast just joined on May 19 sailing. And just like other things on a cruise, entertainment some like, some do not. I personally like the show, but there are parts that drag. My favorite, because I like the song, is Run Boy Run by Woodkid. I’m sure most people have never heard it.
  12. For longer cruises, you may find it a bit cheaper, but it still equals out to be pretty much the same total as 7 days or less. I think @smokeybanditwas pretty spot on with price.
  13. I used Nord VPN recently on sailings from Australia. The Royal app wouldn’t let me sign on using my VPN, but was fine if I logged on without it and then added my VPN. I didn’t seem to have any issues with my games, websites, emails, etc. with my VPN.
  14. So you see your cruise on the website? Is there a blue button on your cruise that says “ Plan My Cruise? That takes you to planner.
  15. This is my personal history, but I have had issues getting on the app, when on my VPN (on ship). For the most part, there was no issue accessing my games, websites, emails, etc. when on my VPN. I have Nord, so not sure if all VPN’s will act the same on the ship.
  16. I find things easier to book on website, but everyone is different. If you have your booking number, just start checking. As you can see from replies, there is no set time. But FYI, you can only reserve dining, if you don’t have any type of dining package.
  17. You don’t get free days credited if you pre purchase Voom. It is already discounted. If you don’t pre purchase, you can use your free days, and then purchase, at the ship’s price, for remainder of days. Or don’t use free days and buy Voom on ship, minus the price of the free days, usually about $55-56
  18. I think the shorter cruises are a lot more appealing for those that can drive to them. Not appealing at all for me living on the Westcoast. To make it worth the flight, I would probably need to do, at least a B3B, or a B4B.
  19. My daughter’s July 2 sailing on Wonder opened on June 1….since she had me reminding her, she was able to reserve all shows. I’m the one that’s OCD about it…🤪 However, I will admit to watching occasionally prior to June 1.
  20. @chengkp75always explains this law better than anybody else on Cruise Critic. Maybe he will step in and explain to those that think it’s a stupid law, will understand more with a more detailed explanation. It’s not only about cruise ships.
  21. Reps for all the cruise lines are notorious for not knowing the rules pertaining to PVSA. In fact, if they are aware, they call it the Jones Act (which applies to cargo).
  22. I booked a solo infinite Veranda on the Edge next May, and it was cheaper than a double occupancy interior. Look for solo cabins, but they do go fast.
  23. I was on a B5B from Mar27-May19…the name of ship definitely stands out more on the new ones. New one was delivered by FedEx today, not on ship.
