  1. I know in the past when I have boarded, they have areas cordoned off for arrival/check in times, and they have checked. @Ferry_Watchermight be able to assist with your question. You can also all go later, after the mad rush, and have a better chance of boarding together. It’s a nightmare early, especially with 2 ships boarding.
  2. If you live on east coast and can drive to Seattle in 17hrs, I want to know what kind of car you have 😂😂
  3. My daughters and grandkids did this cruise the week of New Years. We had the same experience at port (I have done LB a few times also), plus it was raining. Porters kept going up to cars pulling up, rather than getting luggage from the long line of people. I had never seen anything like it, and I have sailed from many ports, including international ones. I agree with Mazatlan. I had been there a few times, so we just got off ship and had a few beers, and shopped around courtyard for souvenirs. Thanks for the great review.
  4. I was here on RCI Ovation, the end of March. I don’t ever get massages, but for $15USD for 30 mins, I couldn’t resist. It was a pretty fine massage, although there were a couple of spots I had to tell her to be a bit more gentle. 😬
  5. I just got off the Ovation on May 19th, and of the 5 legs, only the pay versions could be booked ahead of time. Free times could only be booked once onboard. I guess the pay ones could be sold out ahead of time. I never really checked.
  6. Since you mentioned Vancouver, I assume you are cruising to Alaska. I’m not sure if the ships out of Vancouver are the same dining times as ships out of Seattle, but I was on the recent sailing, May 11-19 on Ovation. I checked my photos of Compass, and early traditional was 5, late was 7:30, and MTD was 6:15. There are later shows, so the late seating diners don’t miss them.
  7. My friends are on Long Island, and they are driving to Bayonne for the Greenland cruise. They found it was cheaper to get the stay and park package at a hotel.
  8. Check everything with pockets, if you haven’t already.
  9. @poocheris correct. They normally will show up the 1st of month prior to your cruise month. However, that being said, I would start looking daily, a week prior. My daughter and I are stalking her reservations on her Wonder cruise July 2. Depending on when your cruise is, don’t wait until 45 days, if your cruise is at the end of the month. It could be closer to 60 days. PS…the cruise is quite a ways away, so anything could change between now and then. Check back next summer. 😉
  10. Just got off Ovation last Friday (5/19) after 5 legs and 54 nights. I didn’t get anything on any of the legs.
  11. Starwater in Two70 should be the only reservation show, and will probably open on June 1, but I would start checking daily. Free IFly and Northstar aren’t available until boarding. If you want the pay versions, if they aren’t open now, again, check June 1.
  12. I should have been clearer…I meant to say to stay up until midnight when it opens at 45 days. My brain knows what I mean 🤦🏼‍♀️
  13. Or you could wake up or stay up until midnight from where ship is leaving from and pick an early arrival time. Lots of folks do that.
  14. And your reasons are exactly why I choose late arrival times now. Even with early hotel check out times, I can still find ways to kill time before I arrive. While others like to arrive early, many of us like to arrive when cabins are ready, and avoid the initial crowd.
  15. Of course, then there’s the question when you’re solo, if they can get the correct amount points added 🙄. Three legs complete on the Ovation and I got double points (solo). Well almost, everybody on the TP got shorted points, since it said it was 18 nights, but only got 17 points, because they couldn’t figure out the repeat of April 20. They are aware, but say could take 30 days to fix. Finished the 9 night Hawaii leg and only got 9 points (still solo). I’m waiting to complete the 8 night Alaska leg and see what they post before I call. I do like the vouchers, although many days/nights I didn’t use any. And on 54 nights, I can only stash so much….LOL But so happy, I have now passed the 340 mark and get that solo discount. Hallelujah!
  16. They are still listed on app and Compass. One Formal and one Dress Your Best…it’s up to each individual how they choose to dress.
  17. Although my first cruise in 1980 was on Sitmar, the cost included RT airfare and hotel the night before cruise? Was Royal the same?
  18. Sitmar was sold to Princess. Sailed them several times in the 80’s, and my cruises were honored by Princess. EDIT…..hahaha We all posted at the same time.
  19. I will beginning the last leg of 5 legs tomorrow, for a total of 54 nights. My previous longest was 35. At least now I know that 50+ is a bit to long for me. I miss my home and my own food. And I’m really looking forward to staying in pajamas all day…LOL I think I’m ok with 20-30. I do have a 25 night next year.
  20. Excellent question. if they had it for check in, it’s around the house somewhere.
  21. This is where mine always goes. As soon as I get home from a trip, back to the freezer.
  22. I noticed you posted a thread for Alaska. If you are asking about internet services on an Alaska cruise, all bets are off. Service is very spotty in Alaska, so I wouldn’t guarantee anything as far as streaming.
  23. Ships I’ve been on, lunch has always been a smaller version of WJ, and there are no menus. I have never seen schnitzel, although I don’t go every day to check, or maybe it’s only on Harmony. I would ask in there the first day, and see if schnitzel will be offered.
  24. Yes, as long as it stays Solarium Bistro it’s free. Samba Grill is a charge.
