We have finished 4 on the ruby since the return of princess…..that would be great if they come back permanently. Planning to b on the Regal from FLL to Galveston late Oct to Nov, then doing the New Year’s Eve trip again. The only issue is the boring western Caribbean ports… possibly longer trips could get some better eastern ports. Go princess!

Boarded the Emerald at 11am. Very fast. All flood waters receded pon 17 th st. . Just called an Uber from hotel and on the ship. Very efficient even having to pick up our medallions was a breeze.

Same is true on the Ruby - Vines requests that the glass remain there. Since we knew the bartender so well, we walked away with the glass and brought it back to him after we left the casino.

I suppose we will find out - we will be there on Sunday to board the Emerald Princess. So happy to hear the waters in FLL are receding. Safe travels to all ....

No way..on 44 cruises with Princess, we have never had a bad pillow!

We love the pillows and the beds on Princess....they are so comfy!

WE will all get there sooner or later and spend the same amount of time on the ship. We are elite but who cares if we board first....just putting that out there. Safe travels to all!

Caution with many of the taxi drivers. They do not turn on the meter , then charge you $25 to $30 or more for the 3 mile ride....We always ask them to turn the meter on. If they won't do it , we ask to get out. It should cost $15 or so from the airport to 17th St Causeway area.

I had the same problem once. All I did was delete the card and reenter it -having my husband as a signer and it worked. Hope it works for you. It is amazing what delete and reenter does on this app.

We would never carry our passport ( except when required as in Alaska to the Yukon)..We have laminated copies of our passports and carry them. American passports are worth a lot of money in some places.

I love your comment that "we could have gone elsewhere". That obviously tells me you know nothing about ship travel....Where do you think you could have gone??? Ports all require advance planning and confirmation....Maybe you should stick to road travel.

The other ships might have been docking at a different port - not Mahogany Bay . We missed 3 ports in the north Atlantic and it was not hurricane season - high winds and rough seas are often issues. and yes it was on Princess and there were other lines doing the same. We have done over 50 cruise on different cruise lines - most of them on Princess because we find them to be the best and missing ports is one of the hazards of cruising. the cruise line should in no way refund you money for weather related issues. I think the RC Allure had issues on this time date also. Maybe you are more suited to the RC line . They all hold to the same standards of safety. In my mind it is better to be safe than sorry. In the end, one must make the best of what it is.

Hey , enjoy Carnival and RC - docking in Roatan is surely not an excuse to blame on the cruise line. That port is very difficult to dock and ultimately up to the port authorities. Love Princess and be thankful they are giving you a credit due to weather beyond their control. We missed 3 ports last fall due to a hurricane and I have no complaints. Cruising is just - one of those things.

LOL......it is still green so that is what I must have done!

We leave next week - I was green lane , then I went to yellow lane ( whatever that is ) and then to blue and now back at green......it took forever to load. This app works much better once onboard but the pre boarding is a real pain.

It is so easy to pick it up at the port.

It just does not work that way - permission must be granted from the port to dock at any given time. And really, who can foresee weather....it happens....

The Allure docks at a different port from the Princess port. That is why they were able to dock. They do not use Mahogany Bay...that is for Carnival Corp ships only.

Try calling Carmel Car Service in Brooklyn - they are prompt and professional and well priced. Can get the price and pick up time online.

Living in a hurricane zone - we tend to not travel during the month of September as that seems to be the peak - at least for here in the Gulf of Mexico. Last year, we did a New England/Canada cruise in mid September and missed two port on the 7 day cruise due to weather conditions. In the end , it is just a crap shoot and luck. WE have sailed around or behind or in front of hurricanes in the past so just give it a go and go with your plans whatever they might be.

Other than the issues with the town of Bar Harbor, sometime the ships do not stop there due to the winds and weather as this is a tender port. It is a great place to visit. I hope we can stop there again...if not, I can always buy my wild blueberry jam online and it is really GOOD!
