  1. It can be considerably more than a £1 or £2 comparing to Parking4Cruises which is virtually the same operation especially on longer cruises.
  2. If that is the case then Princes should remember not everyone in the world uses Apple phones and those with Android are not going to upgrade their phones all the time just so they can use it on Princess. The issues I am currently having on my phone which is Android have all appeared since the upgrade this week when until then everything was Ok but now has gone to pot for my cruise on 2nd June. Always thought the idea of upgrades was to fix bugs not to cause them but Princess always seem to have massive problems with the App after every upgrade.
  3. With reference to the recent update of the Medallion App when you do the health status questionnaire within 24 hrs of sailing they are asking you to upload a photo. Is this a photo of your vaccination/booster certificate or is of the LFT/PCR test you have to have done within 3 days of boarding.
  4. This is the 3rd cruise we have done using Medallion App the first being pre pandemic and it has never worked consistently if at all on any of them and IMO is totally useless and should be dumped. Unfortunately Princess will not do this they will persist with an inept Medallion rather than admit that they are wrong. Our next cruise is 2nd June had new update this week and now I was in Green Lane but now in Blue Lane and says I have not booked my arrival group which I booked weeks ago. Tried to rebook arrival group and says it is not available only group available is group C and wife is in group A. Totally useless piece of equipment.
  5. Disagree with your quote "in line with everyone" Cunard and P&O still have formal nights as a dress code which is strictly adhered too by many men wearing tuxedos/dinner suits and the women wearing evening long dresses. Hopefully long may it continue as on Princess seeing men wearing dinner suits sharing tables or in same MDR where others dress like they have just been gardening or even worse baseball cap and shorts makes it look shambolic and distasteful and is the really low side of Princess cruises and that along with the stupid poor Medallion App my next cruise on Princess on 2nd June will be my last with them.
  6. Even though my P&O account gives permission for contact by e-mail, phone or post have not had anything of any form from P&O whether it be e-mail, Moments magazine or Peninsular Club Calendar last Christmas. I keep contacting them by PM on Facebook and they say they will sort it but nothing ever changes.
  7. They say at Southampton that they prefer printed version of any necessary documents because wi-fi is so unreliable so I would either try to print it off or save it to a file so you dont need to rely on wi-fi.
  8. Or more likely they are swamped with that many complaints.
  9. Unfortunately, like what happened to us Cunard announced a good six months after we booked that the return part of our roundtrip TA on QM2 was a Literary Festival and like I said previously they virtually took over the whole ship for the crossing. If I had known when we booked I would not have booked it and when I did find out I contacted Cunard to try and cancel it and they didnt want to know and if I did I would have lost my deposit which at 15% was a considerable sum. There were many on the ship that were not very happy especially as Planetarium was closed and all the films shown were "heavy" based on pleasing the Literature group.
  10. and they are also in the market for further ships to expand their fleet.
  11. But P&O are not the only ones we cruised on Caronia with Cunard many years ago and we found out whilst onboard that she had already been sold to Saga and had been leased back to Cunard to enavle them to complete some cruises.
  12. Drinks Packages are never or very rarely included when you book a Grills suite in the UK. That is what really annoys me about Cunard and their treatment of UK cruisers. Have challenged Cunard many times even writing to CEO in Cunard UK and they give varying poor excuses every time but still treat UK cruisers with contempt.
  13. Nothing worse than "rumours" on social media especially if somebody says "i have heard". Believe nothing until it is confirmed by P&O.
  14. When we were on QM2 when trying to sign up for programme events in Connexions outside Royal Court Theatre we were told we couldnt because we had not booked as part of the group for the Literature Festival. You could attend parts of the programme in Royal Court Theatre, Illuminations and others but all the shows for the Planetarium were cancelled to allow talks with regards to Literature Festival. We spoke to many cruisers who had joined QM2 in New York for 7nt TA unbeknown that it was a literature festival cruise and were very disappointed that they couldnt attend the Planetarium.
  15. They do perhaps but everyone on the ship is allowed to see them wherever they are. We are discussing "private group bookings" who take over parts of the ship and unless you are part of that private group you are not allowed to join in. With the literary festival held onboard many times you were not allowed to join in if you hadnt booked the cruise with them and other parts of the ship i.e. planetarium was cancelled for the duration of the cruise so they could hold talks/lectures in their. That doesnt happen with NSO they are booked by Cunard as a theme for the cruise and whatever they do on the ship is open to all and they dont commandeer the whole ship.
  16. It will not impact on your cruise in any way as we have cruised before when the National Symphony Orchestra was onboard QM2. Firstly you dont get a full orchestra and they do shows in the theatre on normal evenings as well as other performers and dance company shows on other nights. Anthony Inglis usually does a talk in the theatre and they didnt appear or use the Queens Room at all. The show we did see in the theatre one evening was brilliant and possibly the best show we have seen on a ship.
  17. Dont think you will have any problems booking once onboard. We cruised on QE last August and November and was nearly always empty. The only time we saw it fairly busy was one lunch time and we found out afterwards that was because it was the freebie lunch given to Diamond members of CWC.
  18. We reached the dizzy heights of Baltic a few years ago but when we stopped cruising with P&O so often we were relegated to Caribbean and TBH dont know or have noticed much difference.
  19. I believe that the price of bottle is reduced by 25% and then they add 18% on top service charge.
  20. One reason we never go to the buffet for afternoon tea seen many times people picking up sandwiches and open them up to see what is inside and then put them back if they didnt want them. Funnily enough on every row of sandwiches there were labels telling you what is inside the sandwiches but people still ignored them and handled them. Firm believer that majority of Noro Virus cases onboard cruise ships start in the buffet due to peoples unhygienic practices.
  21. Anytime for us every time that has always been a down side to Cunard compared to other cruise lines unless you are in Club or above then the only option is fixed dining. I want to eat when I want and it could vary day by day and not when it suits Cunard best 6pm is too early for us and 8-30pm too late.
  22. Certainly believe there is a lot of Cunard "spin" put into that statement it certainly took a lot longer to sell out QA than when QE went on sale for her Maiden voyage and was sold out in 30 minutes.
  23. But have they changed where you could possibly have a test because they have limited supply so could an occasion where if they run out and cannot do it at the terminal they send you somewhere near the terminal for a test. Dont know if they have always said they have a limited supply but is possible an option if they run out and have an agreement with a company close by to do test rather than miss your cruise.
  24. We will look at cruises on QA later in the summer when they are released and if they are still as expensive as the current ones then I think its time we had a change and look elsewhere. Pleased to hear one of the bosses of Celebrity say they will be sailing from Southampton in 2024 so might take a look at them or for the first time in many years not take a cruise in summer but go to our beloved Austria.
  25. But would you honestly believe stories in either of those papers. I would have to look close to make sure they got the date right.
