  1. Thanks for the photos!.😀...so, tell me, how did you like the Uniworld cruise? I have sailed with them once on a different itinerary and loved them. I am now in the middle of trying to decide if i want to sail with them again to Paris or try another line........such decisions LOL.......You must really love Paris! This will be my first time there.
  2. Hi, I understand. I am just letting you know I never got anything from The Health Dept here at home.
  3. And more good news.......Humana and the Pharmacist were able to get my card to work so she was able to run it through yesterday afternoon and my application has now been submitted to the drug company. Seems there was an issue with one of the digits on my card.....doesn't make any sense to me but they got it to work.😀 Hopefully more good news in the next couple of weeks......(like they approved my ap)
  4. Sometimes those Bow Ties show up on there and sometimes they don't...........
  5. Hey Roz, I am interested in this too......let me tell you, the hotel in Paris they are using is The InterContinental and it is 900.00 per night😧😧
  6. Welcome aboard🙂there should be 2 formal nights on an 11 night cruise. If you want to bring a tux, go for it. It is not a requirement though and a suit will do as well.
  7. Maybe I am not remembering correctly and there was a QR CODE given but if it was, it was from filling out the country's health form that I was embarking from. That may ring a bell to me. But I know I never got anything from our Dept of Health here at home. Now that I think of it, I sailed from Athens and 3 months later I sailed from Lisbon. I think they did have a form to fill out from their Government/Health Dept....but again, not from ours.
  8. Back from my Dr's appt and I have to say I am VERY HAPPY🙂. He is very nice and we chatted for a pretty long time. The nurse was very nice too. I have to do blood work next week and will see him again in 3 months. I think this will be just fine and was really pleased and one of the other great things is he is not even a 10 minute drive away!
  9. I am not a "dress gal" so nope, I cannot relate. I wear slacks/pants as my evening attire. Depending on how dressy I want to be, that would be which pants I wear but I have not owned/worn a dress in years.
  10. Even when the "restart" happened back in the summer of 2021 they did not ask for something from the Dept of Health. When cruises first re-started it was your vax card and a a printed copy of your negative test. I was on one of the first cruises back in July 2021. Never brought anything else "official"...or unofficial either😀
  11. Hello again, yes, I am still going to Paris but after the last couple of days of thinking about everything.....I think (haven't made a final decision yet) but I am thinking about changing lines. After all the postings, some of you may be saying, WHAT? LOL.....well, I have heard very good things about Tauck but I loved my Uniworld cruise and they have an 8 night cruise (Tauck's is 9 nights) and the Tauck cruise is twice the price😮. That seems like ALOT of $$$$ to me......I have some time to think about it but just wanted to let you know since everyone was so forthcoming on what to do, where to stay, etc. Just not sure if paying so much extra for one extra night is worth it to me. Will let you know what happens🙂
  12. Good morning, Cynthia.......I am still going BUT I think I am changing cruise lines......part of me wants to try Tauck but the other part? Uniworld has an 8 night cruise for 1/2 the price😧. Sometimes I just can't seem to make up my mind. I have the finances to take the Tauck Tour but I think the part of me that always watches the $$$ thinks 50% less is ALOT of money! I have my Dad inside me LOL...he was always frugal. I can cancel my Tauck by March 15 with no penalty. I had given them a deposit and can get it all back. I will think on it......if I tell all those folks on the river cruise forum LOL....after all their postings. Oh well, I can't worry about them.
  13. New month and I am now on Medicare. I know I mentioned this a long time ago but the time is now for me to apply for financial aid for my VERY expensive cancer medication. I went to see the the Social Worker at my cancer facility and we got all the paper work filled out and gave her my new insurance cards. Well, of course as smooth as it was going, life is always going to throw you a lemon🙄. Seems my drug plan (separate from Medicare)....well, seems the card would not run through the system. This is not to order a refill, but in order to get financial aid these items all have to be submitted. So I had to call Humana (they are now my RX plan people) and the gal put a 3 way call into the Specialty Pharmacy and me. They had to do a mock claim to see what a new Co-pay would be (To know I need the financial help). Anyway, when they entered my card, it said the plan was active BUT the pharmacy part had expired😮.......it makes NO SENSE. It is only a card for the pharmacy! Anyway, I left the 2 of them to figure it out....the gal at Humana and the pharmacist. I will follow up tomorrow and hopefully whatever is showing wrong will be fixed. Thanks for letting me vent.
  14. My fingers are typing too fast. I should have posted I have found it very easy to meet others on board.
  15. Glad to help. I have it very easy to meet other folks on board🙂
  16. ***I should have said there is an area set aside for solo guests in the lounge for drinks.
  17. I only sail solo......you will not have any issues with dining and they won't sneak you in...I hope you are kidding. The wait/bar staff is excellent and will always be happy to seat you, just like anyone else. And just to make you aware, SS offers an area in one of the lounges (Usually Dolce Vita) for cocktails. If you want to join, you may, if not you can sit at the bar. But it can be a nice way to meet others (IF you are so inclined) and folks do end up dining together. No pressure but that option is available. And if you want it eat solo, again, that is not an issue.
  18. I just called Tauck and will be going 2 days early...so even though some of you said that is still not enough? Oh well. It is more than 1🙂. And to be honest, it is really only 1.5. The flight gets in around noon so arrival day is not a whole day. I am good with my decision though. Been researching hotels this morning but haven't found one yet.
  19. After re-reading all the postings on here, I will probably go 2 days early.
  20. Hi Roz🙂, yes, even from the postings, it seems like overload would be the correct term.
  21. The Intercontinental is what they are using now but when the gal told me the cost I said I would find my own hotel. As I mentioned, I looked at the 2 properties you suggested......they are way, way, way more $$$$ than I spend. They might be luxury 2 grand per night? No thanks.
