  1. Hi girls, well, my bone density results came back and the Dr wants me to start to taking a calcium supplement with vitamin D. Now, I know calcium pills are GIANT in size and VERY hard for me to swallow........he said I could take them in gummy form. I already take multiple meds every day and now I have to take another one........getting old is a PITA.
  2. We are supposed to be in the 95 and UP range for the next 10 days........and of course the humidity around here makes it feel like it is about 105😮.........around the house I am in shorts and a t shirt. When I volunteer I have to wear slacks and closed toe shoes. And I even bring a warm up jacket with me. Not sure how it is in other places, but inside the hospital it is FREEZING.
  3. Are you sure of your dimensions? I always thought 2 twins = a full size. A king mattress is MUCH larger than a full. Maybe someone who knows more about mattress sizes can chime in here.
  4. Hi girls, I seem to get those calls in binges.......they seem to ring in droves and then I don't get them. But if I don't know the number? I don't pick it up. But it does get annoying that is for sure. I had a Mammogram and Bone Density test yesterday. I didn't remember the bone density thing is actually x rays.
  5. Hi, I think the crew is fabulous and once I have told them my name, they always seem to remember it😃That is on the on all the ships. And the bartenders? Never had a problem with them remembering what I am drinking either.
  6. I have sailed all 3.......Spirit, Moon and Dawn.........loved them all🙂 but you are correct with your question, which is better? That is definitely subjective. I was on Spirit in April and had a wonderful cruise. The itinerary and cruise ship gave me a great experience.🙂 I am going on the Dawn for the 3rd time in August and definitely looking forward to sailing her again. Not sure what you are looking for......Moon and Dawn are much newer so that can be a variable. There is a very detailed review from Drron about their most recent cruise on Moon. That should give you a very current idea of what she is like as well.
  7. This question is very interesting and I have read the replies. There are also those of us who are of the Jewish Faith and Anne Frank was part of our upbringing. I remember learning about her and her family's story going back to when I was a young child. So there is more than one way that we know about her. Some kids read her Diary in regular school and others learned about her through the Synagogue/Sunday School/Hebrew School. To be honest, I don't remember it being required reading in middle school. Now, I am 65 so maybe my era is different than those younger than me.
  8. Hi, my condolences go out to you as well. I have always sailed solo and as others have stated, SS does an excellent job with how we are treated. There is never any pressure but the option for drinks before dinner is always there. And yes, they make the effort of having singles/solos dine together. You will always be welcomed. Over the course of my sailings, I have frequently found other guests very friendly, whether they are married, divorced, etc....etc.....marital status is really not important to me. The vibe on board has always been welcoming😃 Hope you enjoy your cruise.
  9. Hi Ryan, wow, that is all quite exciting...😃 so you are having to change all your flights home as well......hope that goes smoothly. Looking forward to reading all about this cruise too😃
  10. Hi Lola, no, you are definitely not the only one.......some of the stuff is absolutely NUTS and in my opinion, many of the norms are going backwards and I say to myself, are we REALLY doing/seeing this in 2023? It is not 1943 (thankfully for that) but the many fringes keep coming out and and part of it literally scares the crap out of me........We can do better.......that is what I think...we must be better. So, no, you are not out of touch.
  11. Hi, that is not 100% correct. I have booked gty cabins before and received my cabin number before sailing. The last time I had one, the cabin was assigned when I received my e docs, which was about 2 weeks before sailing. To the OP, another option is to call SS directly and ask them if they can get that cabin number for you.
  12. I don't know what to tell you. I haven't sailed Royal in years and years. I can say as a solo guest, if they offer a "solo/singles get together", it would probably be just to meet other solos. As for anything being romantic? I would guess that depends on the person. What its called? Doesn't make any difference (to me anyway). I rarely attend those type of functions.
  13. No, I think get togethers are meant to meet other passengers and having someone romantically has nothing to do with it. I have been sailing solo for over 20 years and that is the last reason I think about when cruising.
  14. Hi Ryan, question for you. I have never heard of dinner being served in Dolce Vita before. Was this something special? Just curious really.
  15. Yes. You could cook your own or they would cook for you.
