  1. I have a Roomba & like it but it occasionally gets stuck on a lower chair rail....I'm amazed at what a good job it does.
  2. We had Ethan Stowell do a cooking demo as well as a 5-course dinner on our 35 day Hawaii/Tahiti/Marquesas cruise on the K.
  3. Saw the poster for the Seafood Boil -- I wanted to try it but hubby's not crazy about some of the ingredients so we didn't.
  4. We booked a Neptune Suite & embarking in San Diego in February was no different than regular boarding --- we were still in the monster group of people waiting to board.
  5. Yes, you do have to give them a days notice but since your 1st night is Tamarind - just tell your waiter you need a low salt diet & he will talk to the chef & probably come back with your choices. CO isn't open for lunch so you'll need to hit them on your 1st night....it's really pretty easy except when everything that sounds good is what you can't have.
  6. I had to laugh at your 'medical kit' prep --- I'm a retired RN & I gleaned all the 'must take' list of meds from various posters on here....stuffed them all in a nylon backpack & the only thing that came out of it (on our 35 day cruise) was Extra Strength Tylenol for our cabin steward who had a headache & stiff neck --- I gave him the bottle.
  7. @Cruising-along Contact Ship Services before you board & fill out a Special Needs form for your dining issues. Then, when on board, all the dining venues have 'special menus' for the next night's dinner....you pick out what you want, give it to your server or the maitre'd --- somebody checks with the chef in that venue to approve your choices for the next night or let you know that what you picked won't work & offer alternatives. We ate in the MDR, CO, Tamarind & Pinnacle & all followed my restrictions.
  8. @marshhawk Do a Google search for the COPD med that's so expensive....oft times the manufacturer offers coupons/rebates/free meds......I'm on Spiriva & haven't paid for any of the inhalers for over 3 years.....no co-pay, nothing.
  9. If you used a HAL PCC to book, ask them. We had purchased C.O. & the unlimited laundry & then did a paid upsell to a Neptune - our PCC refunded both purchases.
  10. @kazu Ivan looks like a lovey boy complete with bear.....hope he works out!
  11. On 35 day K cruise Feb.-March ran out of hubby's favorite merlot.
  12. Except when it's not --- our original departing flight from SD was 11 a.m. but Alaska changed it to 1:48 pm....not happy but it turned out fine since we didn't even get off the ship until 10:45 am --don't know what the reason for the delay was.
  13. Don't remember the brand but do a Google search for ones with silicone strips on the top back of the heel.
  14. The velcro fastener on the cuff of my hubby's jacket came unsewn....K's tailor repaired it for us.....
  15. Got a great Kipling bag (style is Lynne) on sale on the K 2 weeks ago....black nylon, can be a crossbody, clutch, fanny pack or a regular shoulder bag. Zips across the top which folds down & snaps to make a smaller footprint...bigger portion has no inner pockets but the smaller part has credit card slots, an area for bills as well as a zippered change area.
  16. We got off the K on March 25 & we both received our survey on or about March 30.
  17. On HAL, you need to go to the muster station shown on your key card, somebody scans it, then at some point before sailaway you need to watch the video on your tv....you can't change the channel until you do.
  18. That's what I did when I liked the top of my one piece swim suit/dress but wanted to be able to use the restroom without having to struggle out of & back into my suit...I pinking sheared off the bottom part of the suit & bought a pair of swimsuit bottoms - I left some of the inner portion of the top to tuck into the bottoms --- it worked great.
  19. We had good luck in CO on the K except for 1 night....I was presented a menu every night for the next night...chose what I wanted & that particular night I was told everything I picked I couldn't have.....spoke to the chef in there & from then on it was all good, even in the specialty restaurants....mine isn't a gluten issue but a fry oil issue.
  20. We've sailed out of & into San Diego a few times & I must say the process both ways is extremely chaotic....for as long as they've been doing it, it should be much more organized than it is.....boarding times & priority status is not recognized or adhered to & as far as disembarkation goes, what a mess!! When we came off the K on March 25, our time was delayed by at least 45 minutes...thank heavens our 11 a.m. flight on Alaska had been changed to 1:48 pm...we didn't hit the airport till close to noon. BE FORWARNED!
  21. Hubby is an early riser, I'm not so he orders room service for himself & coffee for me. When I'm up & awake, I head up to the Lido for what I want...works out well.
  22. We were told that that was on the schedule. I wish they'd get rid of those HEAVY chairs or the carpet....
