  1. Quick update on my recovery from my lumbar laminectomy & fusion done on Dec. 11 - back is a little tender where the hardware is, left hip & thigh have manageable pain - maybe 1 or 2 pain meds a day. Back to walking our dog .7 mile a day. I think for 7 weeks post-op I'm doing ok.
  2. Didn't know upsells were negotiable....I'll remember that for next time.
  3. Hubby forgot his belt & had the same problem in Mexico - I can't remember how that turned out.
  4. I don't like the Ivar's chowder that Costco sells - nothing like the real deal - native Seattle-ite here.
  5. You live on Vashon & consider seafood smelly? Where are you originally from? Native Seattle-ite here.
  6. The current theory, at least around here, is to ice things that hurt - not heat. Heat causes swelling which causes more pressure on whatever is hurting....ice does the opposite or so says our Physical Therapist & it makes sense.
  7. That's part of the reason we switched to the online version of the Sun....we trust our mail carrier - she will extend our 30 hold if needed.
  8. We like the angled balcony for a couple of reasons - larger balcony that the sides can buffer the wind & the area where the connecting door is in the cabin is a great little storage nook for the collapsible hamper & the cabin seems a little larger.
  9. You need a tender to get from the ship to land....that's a loooong pier.
  10. @JazzyV YAY on finally getting a date! Do they have a waiting list to get on in case somebody cancels?
  11. Chef Ethan Stowell did a demo of this on our 35 day cruise...even got a recipe card....still haven't made it.
  12. We used a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees.
  13. My printing & cursive writing used to be pretty good --- printed a lot when I was transcribing dr's order & still my printing is pretty decent but my cursive has gotten worse over time, particularly my signature, since I had to write it so many times over 25 years as an RN. We only do vote by mail in Washington state & have for years -- a few years back I had to send in proof that my signature was really mine since it no longer resembled what it had been.
  14. To answer the OP's question....anywhere from 0 to maybe $300 not including excursions. We did the "oh I'd like to spend some time here" for Puerto Vallarta....had a couple of port calls & really liked the vibe so we rented a condo on the Malecon for a week -- other than the hot/humid weather in May, I'd do it again in a heartbeat...hubby not so much. I'd move there if I could.
  15. I'm not a popcorn fan either & I don't like watermelon.
  16. That's how I felt on the K - skipped dessert several nights.
  17. @ottahand7 I had auditory hallucinations...mine were old time religious hymns....woke up my grandson & accused him of having his radio (which he didn't have) on too loud. Took the dog out & was still hearing them outside. Very annoying & you can't get them to stop....it's like a continuous loop.
  18. I know that song....Camp Sealth on Vashon Island, WA
  19. I bought a couple at the Dollar Store -- one has been plugged in (here at home) since April 1, 2023 & is basically always on since the bathroom it's in is kind of dim.....so 24/7 for 9 months on the same battery.
  20. Did you do a Google search for the store?
  21. Thanks - we're actually not going on a cruise but flying to Maui & I couldn't find a FAQ that addressed this -- I had spine surgery early in December & still am limited in walking + we'll have luggage so getting from the drop-off area up to ticketing, thru Security & taking the train to the appropriate gate would be a real challenge thus I thought this might do the trick. I'm not using any assistive devices which would be another wrinkle in the picture.
