  1. @dfishPrior to my recent spine surgery I needed an MRI within a year, lumbar spine xrays, PT & epidural steroid injections for Medicare to approve it.
  2. I was supposed to get a cortisone injection in my L shoulder but my spine surgery overrode that....getting it next Friday.
  3. Got released by my neurosurgeon 3 weeks after surgery. Wants me to start PT in a couple of weeks. Need to be back to good by March 7 for our annual Maui trip.
  4. I absolutely love reading your posts! They are informative without being teachy & give me a real flavor of what you're experiencing. Please keep it up!
  5. For me it's been showers & either clean jammies or sweats. Haven't been out of the house since Dec. 15.....headed for my post-op appt on Jan. 3 so I'll have to get 'dressed'.
  6. Yep...that's the menu we kept seeing....did only a couple of lunches there.
  7. We led similar lives....2 years of Latin helped when I became an RN & 4 years as a phone operator for Pacific NW Bell.
  8. Thx...totally different than what we were offered.....Mexican St tacos everyday & I don't remember what else. Maybe dependent on the itinerary...ours was the Hawaii/Tahiti, etc. one.
  9. Probably a minor ? for you....why doesn't the MDR lunch menu change? We did the 35 day cruise last Feb/March & only did the MDR a couple of times for that reason.
  10. @dfish My original surgery check in time was 9:30, moved to 11:40 & ended up being 05:40.....& needed the 2nd Hibiclens shower prior. Yes, I did go to bed but debated about it. Good luck tomorrow!
  11. @JazzyV For now you can remove me from the rotation...getting around the house without the walker, decreasing the pain meds...just keeping on till I see the surgeon Jan.3. @StLouisCruisers - so far the only tour I've arranged looks like the one you showed pics of....it was one of the best tours we've done. We much prefer private tours.
  12. Or even being in Puerto Vallarta across from the mall with a pair of glasses with a broken nose piece - thankfully a jewelry store did a quick fix for me, but lesson learned to bring a spare pair.
  13. @JazzyV glad you have a diagnosis - now comes the hard part....finding a dr that has availability, aptitude & accepts your insurance.
  14. @dfish - beautiful quilt! Good luck to those of you with medical appointments/procedures tomorrow - hope they provide some answers & ideas as to how to proceed & treat to give you some modicum of relief!
  15. Update on my pain/recovery....pain is maybe a very strong 8 when I try to get up or down from a chair, still having spasms in both upper legs - getting better at logrolling. Once I'm on my feet walking, using a walker, pain is 4-5 which I think is acceptable for having had surgery 7 days ago. Again, thanks for your prayers & well wishes...now if somebody would do my Christmas cards...
  16. To those of you with spine issues, proceed cautiously before jumping on the surgery bandwagon...5 days later I still can't urinate & I'm having horrendous muscle spasms in my right groin/ leg...hope this is all worth it....being discharged today.
  17. Yep..OT was here this morning & PT is coming in about an hour. I ambulated maybe 6-8 ft with a walker. I'm a retired ortho floor RN so I pretty much know the drill but not the discharge stuff.
  18. @Quartzsite Cruiser Can't reply about my pain yet...managed to sleep some overnight but still need help turning. OT is coming in a couple of hours - don't know why.
