In checking out shore excursions for my Mediterranean cruise this summer, I was surprised at how much some of the non Azamara options I was looking at were. In many cases, they were very similar price to the Azamara ones. I think in general excursions have gotten pricey. Luckily, several of the ports we just plan on doing on our own.

We visited Bornholm on a cruise in 2022. We had an excursion from the cruise line that we enjoyed. Basically did a tour of the island. Visited a few of the round churches. Stopped at a beautiful beach, visited a fishing village. Also stopped in a town (don’t remember the name) where they did glass blowing. We had time before our excursion so we walked around the town of Ronne where the ship docked. Pretty town, we visited one of the churches and some of the shops.

I was also going to say the same thing. We recently had a post cruise flight scheduled that was changed by Delta. The new flight time was earlier than we wanted. We called, and were easily able to change to a later flight. Hope you’re able to work this out.

I understand your frustration. However, just because you never had a problem with this agency in the past, doesn’t mean that you couldn’t have a problem with them now. Mistakes happen unfortunately. You need to deal with the agency to straighten things out, and get to the bottom of the discrepancy, and find out exactly where the error was made.

We finish our cruise in July in Chioggia. We’re taking the Azamara transfer to Tronchetto also.

When we were in there on Pursuit in 2022, we docked in Gdańsk.

I don’t think it’s too early to book. I just booked flights for our cruise in July leaving from Barcelona. I’ve been tracking the prices since we booked the cruise, and they recently came down a bit, so we booked. Cruise does end in Chioggia (Venice), and we are flying home from Milan because it was $500 cheaper a person, we can take the train from Venice to Milan fairly cheaply, and gives us an opportunity to visit another city.

Just an FYI, just logged into my Azamara account, and my missing OBC has re-appeared.

I just checked my booking, our OBC is not showing either, and it was the last time I checked.

So sorry to hear that your husband had a fall and is in the hospital. Hope and pray that he is doing ok.

Thanks for your review. Sounds like a great trip. We are on a Mediterranean cruise in July on Azamara which also disembarks in Chioggia. Did you go to Venice from Chioggia after the cruise? If so, how did you get there? You said Sibenik was one of your favorite ports, we are going there also. What did you do in Sibenik? Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your cruise.

We are taking a cruise on Azamara to the Mediterranean also in July. When I look at the excursions online, I see them for all the ports with prices when I look at them in my booking when logged in. If I just look on the general website, not in my booking, prices don’t show. Hope this helps.

Jim, thank you for another fabulous cruise report, enjoying following along. We have been to Niagara Falls many times as my son went to undergrad and law school in Buffalo. The falls are beautiful at night, and very interesting in the winter. As for the Maid of the Mist, I rode it with my grandkids in 2022. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
