  1. I was in Tallinn last summer and had a wonderful time. We took that little tour train and it was fun, but I'm not sure I would recommend it because there is no narration. It went around the outside of the walled area and at one point actually drove down the cobblestone streets and it really rattled my teeth! 🙂 We were there for a couple of days and walked around the old town and also drove to Kadriorg park and to a wonderful living museum sort of place with a farmer's market.
  2. I've been on the Koningsdam and the Nieuw Statendam which are sister ships to the Rotterdam and we had plenty of room under the bed for our suitcases.
  3. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and so going to Hobbiton was like stepping into my favorite book which I first read more than 45 years ago! It was a wonderful day but I wish I'd had even more time to explore. 🙂
  4. Thanks for sharing! I find the MDR is often crazy the first night because of all the new passengers, so we usually eat in one of the specialty restaurants. Rhonda
  5. I expect that they will add some excursions there eventually, but I signed up for a Hop On, Hop Off bus through Viator for our stop there in Sept.
  6. I would say our 17 day cruise to Australia and New Zealand on the Maasdam in 2016. Our 21 day Alaska cruise from San Francisco on the Maasdam in 2019. And, our 18 day crossing from Copenhagen to Boston via Iceland and Greenland on the Nieuw Statendam in 2022. Just some wonderful cruises to amazing places. Rhonda
  7. Hello! I know that we can't bring my mom's electric heating pad, however there are a variety of battery and USB type pads on Amazon. Are those allowed on board? Anyone have any luck bringing one aboard? Thanks!
  8. There were comments on FB today that their cruises on the ship had been canceled. Maybe a charter??
  9. If you are ON THE LAND in Alaska, it wouldn't be roaming, but when you are sailing it is definitely roaming once you get a mile or two from shore.
  10. On the Koningsdam in December, I just wrote a note on the app to the Front Desk asking them to refund the 50% of the specialty dinners that we had. It worked well and I didn't have to wait in the long line.
  11. Maybe they were doing the change when you were on board in November? We were packed to the gills too!
  12. I was on the Koningsdam in December and I thought the internet was much better than in the past. I just had the included wi-fi and never had trouble getting to any websites.
  13. We tried to get a hole punched in ours on the Koningsdam, but they wouldn't do it. It must depend on the ship to get the ones pre-punched.
  14. It was open in December on our 2 cruises, but the ship was packed. I'm guessing it has to do with how many people are onboard.
  15. It might be an attachment to your email and not in the email itself.
  16. While I certainly wouldn't do it, it's possible if EVERYTHING along the way goes without a hiccup. We disembarked in Boston last summer and made it to the airport by about 9:30 or so and that was with zero problems. It would make me too nervous to do it, but you have your own level of stress you're willing to deal with! 🙂
  17. It has both in separate bottles! I was on just a couple of weeks ago.
  18. But they are also adding this: 'Plus, rolling out between February and early Summer, the line will add a music offering in the form of a band at the Ocean Bar on all Vista- and Signature-class ships. The contemporary trio will play pop arrangements, dating from the 60’s through today.' We enjoyed listening to a group in the Ocean Bar last summer on the N. Statendam and would love to have that more frequently.
  19. I doubt it... it's a specialty Asian restaurant with it's own kitchen and doesn't have access to the MDR foods. Maybe you could ask for the Wasabi steak without the sauce or something like that.
  20. It wasn't worth it to me on our 7 day Mexican Rivera cruise on the Koningsdam. We already get discounts for specialty restaurants so that's not a big incentive for us. Wifi is nice to have, but I can wait and use my cell phone in ports and it's not a big deal. I mainly drink soda, but I wanted to try some different drinks but only ended up with a couple of different ones during our trip... not much sounded appealing to me. I probably won't do it again unless it includes the gratuities.
  21. We were there, Jacqi! My mom was the lady who got the silver medallion. I guess she's a little ahead of me, mMayberry will get mine next week!
  22. Maybe try a different browser? I mostly use Firefox, but sometimes the website works better if I use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  23. Wow... great cruise! I took the 21 day cruise back in 2019 on the Maasdam and it was one of our favorite cruises.
