  1. In the past when we have had linked reservations they would show up on the web site
  2. I find it interesting that Royal Caribbean no longer tells passengers where the gratuties go. Back when gratuties were $12.25 per day ($15.95 for suites) they disclosed the distribution as follows: Dining & Culinary Services: $7.75 USD Stateroom Attendant: $3.85 USD OR Suite Attendant: $6.10 USD Other Housekeeping Services: $1.35 USD OR Housekeeping and Suite Services: $2.10 USD I would like to assume, and it would be an assumption on my part, that the distribution is still very similar but I have not found any way of verifying. Just some food for thought as you consider removing onboard gratuities.
  3. IIRC there are two designed times, Early and Late, for fixed dining. I believe early is around 5:30 pm. To get dining at 6 PM you would use "My Time Dining" and could, as we did in the past, request 6:30 PM reservations. This is based on our experience pre-COVID as we have only sailed in suites since cruising re-opened. I am not sure if they will seat you if you are as much as 30-minutes late. I do not think we have ever arrived that late, nor can I recall any of our table mates being that late. 5 - 10 minutes I am sure would not matter but longer than that it's anybody's guess.
  4. I am surprised you did not say something to the concierge or that the concierge did not notice what was happening and put an immediate end to it. This is why we can't have nice things.
  5. I do not understand the debate here. The citizens of this town has decided they do not want an uncontrolled, by them, number of tourist from cruise ships in their town. Obviously they are willing to forego any business/revenue that the cruise ship passengers would bring. There is nothing to debate. They have made their decision. That's what they want and the way our laws work, that is what they shall get. Decision made. Live with it. If you want to go to Bar Harbor, take something other than a cruise ship. If you take a New England cruise, accept the fact that you will not be stopping in Bar Harbor.
  6. When eating in the MDR, we have made one of our first things to do upon walking on the ship a stop by our assigned dining room and looking at the table we are assigned to. If we do not like it, we stop by the maitre'd station and ask to be changed to a different table, stating what seating arrangements we would like.
  7. Google is your friend: https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/what-is-included-on-a-cruise Complementary except between the houors of 11 PM and 6 AM.
  8. How much to tip is a personal preference type of thing. We pretty much do what @kenb said except if it is not our butler and they set up the table, either in the room on the balcony, and are polity we'll tip between $2.00 and $5.00 depending on what bills are in my pocket at the time.
  9. Thanks. I have been trying to carry as few cables as possible but it might be worth it to invest in very thin HDMI cable. I may even have one around here. I use a USC-C to Display port adapter to connect my two chain my two curved monitors to my laptop. Something like this should work -- https://www.amazon.com/uni-Thunderbolt-Compatible-Working-MacBook/dp/B083Z8QBJ5/ref=sr_1_2_sspa
  10. Great - thanks. I have been downloading NetFlix movies to my laptop and watching them from there but am thinking about either going the Roku route or trying to see if AirPlay will work with the smart TV's on the ship. As a fellow Mac user, have you tried AirPlay?
  11. We have done three of the late September / early October New England cruises and loved them all. We did enjoy excellent weather the whole time on all three. The scenery is amazing with the changing of the season and all the reds, oranges, yellows, and greens on display.
  12. Have you had any issues getting your Roku to connect to the captive portal on the ship?
  13. You are making me so thirsty right now. Pretty sure I need to go pick up some bitters.
  14. I also like the Affogato very much. I do have them make a slight modification to mine, I ask for them to add a shot of Bailey's ! !
  15. Millennium is still showing Prime Rib for the first night for the April 21 cruise.
  16. We are doing 12 Day Best of Japan on Millie next November. We've rescheduled this cruise a couple of times but looks, at least for the moment, this time is a go. So looking forward to it. I've not been to Japan since 1990.
  17. Interesting. I have had hot pot but it's always been a Korean dish served in a cast iron pot, thus hot pot.
  18. While it is wasabi paste, I would not call what comes out of the squeeze tube 'real wasabi." The fresh root is too expensive for us to use so we get the powder. You would be surprised at the flavor difference between the power and the stuff that comes out of a squeeze tube. And, as others here have said, the fresh from the root is very flavorful and I do not mean hot flavorful.
  19. What puzzles me is that it appears, and I have no hard evidence of this, that the same people who want to arrive at the cruise terminal earlier than their assigned times, are the same people who want to be the first to get off the ship. I am more of a get me on early and get me off as late as possible kind of guy -- kinda like boarding a motor whale boat in the Navy -- first on, last off.
  20. So you are going to tell me as a passenger that if I do not book and excursion through the cruise ship, I cannot go ashore in a port the ship is visiting. That's going to go over real well!
  21. On the box with your upcoming cruise do you see three icons at the top? If you do not see that, I recommend you power you phone completely off and then power it back on. If that does not fix it, make sure your software is up to date. Last but not least, you can uninstall and then re-install the app.
  22. I would not like to see this happen but I do not think Royal Caribbean will have much choice. How would they possibly determine which 1,000 passengers out of the 2, 000 - 6,000 on board who would be allowed and who would not.
  23. Was just going to say, mine is working correctly. What do you mean by "do anything with the cruise in the app?" There are a lot of things you can do so please be a little more specific.
  24. I like omelet's and although the menu says 'ham and cheese', I have had no problem getting spinach, tomato, bacon, etc. added to my omelete. I am also a big fan of steamed rice, my wife is Japanese, so I have asked for rice with a number of meals, including eggs over easy, rice and sausage.
  25. Thank you. I agree 100% about the crew making all the difference. We cruise Celebrity for the service and have only been slightly disappointed once, and that was on Edge.
