  1. I think you are correct. Butterflies Lounge is below the main showroom and is where comedy is.
  2. Carnival won't ask for any permission to take the friend, but you should have approval for medical decisions in the event of an emergency.
  3. Rear theater? I don't recall that on the Spirit class ships.
  4. DId you try the Cucina del Capitano for lunch? We did it once and it was constant thunder from the basketball court above us. Good lunch though.
  5. After one more cruise in January the Cabo first is gone for the 7 day cruises.
  6. Unfortunately after a January cruise there doesn't appear to be any more Cabo first trips. Not optimal for a night owl who likes to drink like me 🤣
  7. Does anyone know why Carnival has changed the order of the ports for Mexican Riviera? I went 3 weeks ago on the Panorama and Cabo was first from 10 am to 7 pm. Much better than my next one in Sept 2023 which is 6:30am to 2:30pm as the last stop. Can hardly enjoy Cabo Wabo when the ship leaves so early. My guess would be it allows fuel savings for Carnival going down at a slower pace.
  8. A much better proposition is the 10 percent off gift cards from AARP or Allstate rewards. You can do any amount and it is refundable if you don't use it all plus 10 percent off does add up. Just add them at a sail and sign kiosk and you are good to go.
  9. I just applied a couple days ago for two cruises and for the first time ever it was applied in less than a day! My usual wait time is about a month or a bit more.
  10. Good to note. Unfortunately Allstate has nothing right now in gift cards that I can use. I am not into buying physical gift cards any more. No Carnival offerings at all. That 5 year AARP membership is worth its weight in gold right now!
  11. I guess that means you don't need the scooter any more? 😉
  12. Carnival will be making boatloads of money even if you max out everyday. Cheers for a week without tip is $419.65 and Carnival's cost will be under $100 with their massive purchasing power. On top of all this a high percentage of people won't come close to maxing out everyday. This is a big win for Carnival and they and shareholders(many of us out here) thank the cheers purchasers! I bought stock when it was heading up last year, so I have quite a ways to go to break even. So if cheers makes you happy, then drink up for me 😄 . Each to their own, it's all good.
  13. I bought a toothbrush and floss in the funshops, no tip added and no tip line to add one on the Panorama. Same for the cigarettes I bought my aunt. The Panorama did not have any pricing up in the liquor and smokes area so people had to constantly ask for prices, which is kind of inconvenient to the employee and customer.
  14. Just went on the Panorama three weeks ago but we did the order of Cabo, Mazatlan, then Puerto Vallarta. I don't know why they now have changed the port order, but it really leaves an odd time at Cabo from 6:30 am (?) to 3 pm. We were there from 10 am to 6 pm which is much more palatable for me. Good cruise overall, a bit more crowded than my customary spirit class cruise.
  15. Here is a better idea. If you are an AARP member go buy their Carnival 10 percent off gift cards and apply them to your sail and sign account after you board. You will save money on your purchases and if you don't use it all you will get a refund sent you in new gift cards.
  16. If i need a restroom location onboard I shall contact you! 😄
  17. You can make it worth it, it just depends on how much weight you don't mind putting on to make it worth it. Cheers would have been great in my twenties and thirties but I am now 56 so it is a hard pass for me. I have had cheers once when my daughter bought it for me and realized it isn't for me as I am on the downhill side of the mountain.
  18. Yes, an 18 percent gratuity is included. However, Carnival now lists this gratuity as a " service charge" and then includes another gratuity line below it, which will cause some/many unsuspecting people to add yet another gratuity because they aren't aware the " service charge" is the tip! Carnival used to list the built in gratuity as such, and then add a line that was "additional gratuity". They really muddied the water on gratuities, which comes across to me as being somewhat deceptive.
  19. The area around the screen is enclosed along with one of the main pools. The movies were operating just fine on the Spirit in May going to Alaska, where it is cold as most cruises are going to get.
  20. The spirit has it also. I cruised to Alaska in May and it is there. A nice setup in my opinion. The whole area around the screen is enclosed with the pool.
  21. The big screen seems to work out fine on the other Spirit class ships. Probably not in the budget at this time. The screen is in a nice protected, covered area on the other ships.
  22. No table cloth on regular days has been around for years but I think the none on "elegant" night is a newer phenomenon. I don't care one way or the other myself but for now the Spirit has table cloth every night. I'm sure Carnival can't wait to get rid of the old tables on the Spirit at next dry dock along with the casino bar 😉 .
  23. The last few ships I have been on Carnival doesn't even bother with table cloth any more on their " elegant" night. The only thing going is the food is a bit better with steak/lobster.
  24. There are no ecards of any type on Allstate now. I had to fall to my back up AARP yesterday to get my daughter some ecards for Carnival.
