  1. I rented an Oasis Lagoon cabana and tipped our Cabana Attendant 20% of the cost. Well worth it...the service was amazing!
  2. I actually enjoyed the Alaska webinar last night.
  3. I always place a personalized magnet on our cabin door because my DH and I prefer to be called by nicknames which aren't on our SeaPass cards. It really helps the cabin steward get to know us better. Just one small magnet, which is tasteful for Celebrity standards.
  4. Agreed! 7288 is a great cabin on the starboard rear hump. Extra balcony space and Concierge status. Concierge will get you: Complementary dining in the MDR on Embarkation Day (nice alternative to the usual buffet crowds) Complementary bottle of wine in your cabin Daily canape's (ask for cheese plate instead) Perhaps a surprise invitation to sail away on the helipad from one of your ports Concierge lounge with Continental breakfast on disembarkation day.
  5. i received the email last night (Florida) and watched this a.m. As of this webinar, I'm only 7 points away from Elite!
  6. My heart and prayers go to all. I have been crying all afternoon over the loss of Her Majesty. She was the epitome of a servant leader who displayed steadfast grace and strength through her long reign. God save the King.
  7. I truly hope they continue the PUP program. I'm only 12 points away from Elite and would love to achieve that level before I cruise next February. It would only take two 5-point webinars and two 1-point quizzes!
  8. I love Concierge! I really dislike buffets and hate the madness on embarkation day with lugging your bag with you there. On our post-COVID cruise last November, we were able to drop our carry-ons in our cabin and pickup our SeaPass cards there. Then down to the leisurely embarkation luncheon in the MDR with a free glass of bubbly. We enjoyed sail away from Nassau on the helipad and also enjoyed our hump balcony cabin. The other perk we like is the Concierge Lounge available on disembarkation day. It's nice to sit and sip on caffeine while waiting for our number to be called. The hump balcony on S-class is worth is as well!
  9. We were on the same cruise as TeamStag last November. We rented an alcove on a port day for the $99 rate. Our attendant served us the bottled water in an ice bucket and our fruit skewers twice during the day. The ship was only 30% full so there was little foot traffic in the area. They played the same, boring extreme sports film all day and night on the Lawn Club. I have also done an Alcove on the Silhouette a few years ago. Same experience. All in all, I probably will not spend any more money on an S-Class Alcove. It's basically a nice place to sit if you want to just hang out, read and chat. I'm more social than that and really enjoy Bocce, trivia and other ship activities, as well as quiet moments on our balcony. Enjoy your cruise! We'll be there a week or two after you!
  10. The other benefit to Concierge is the disembarkation lounge on the final day. They have pastries, coffee, tea and juice. It's a nice alternative to the waiting in the public lounges to disembark.
  11. I've sailed Constellation, Summit, Equinox, Silhouette and Reflection. I prefer Silly and Reflection because of the Lawn Club Grill and The Porch, as well as the larger Sunset Bar seating. They are all my favorite class of Celebrity ships. The Connie and Summit have their charms, but nothing beats the fabulous quality of the Lawn Club!
  12. When does RC post the options for booking a cabana or the Beach Club? We are sailing in May 2023 and I'm excited to see our options.
  13. I understand the medical condition to weigh daily. Congratulations on your compliance with this important process to manage your health! Don't let one or two days with gain alarm you, unless the gain is significant. You may also want to speak with Guest Services in advance to arrange to weigh in the medical center. The team there may be able to help you.
  14. On our Reflection cruise last November, our group reviewed the muster drill on the app while breakfasting at our pre-cruise hotel. Once on board, we went to our staterooms to get our Sea Passes, drop our bags and go to the Concierge Embarkation Lunch. After lunch, we went to our drill station where the crew member swiped our Sea Passes and we went on to make our Specialty Dining Reservations. Easy peasy!
  15. The Alcoves on Equinox and the S-Class ships are less claustrophobic than the Apex one showed above. The are located each side of the Lawn Club and face inward to the Lawn Club. The attendant will bring you bottled water and a fruit plate. Other than that, it's merely a place to sit and hang out through the day. I've done it twice, once on Silhouette and once on Reflection. The experience was the same: BORING. I will not purchase an Alcove again.
  16. Thank you all! I will definitely contact RC once I achieve Elite on Celebrity to upgrade me to Diamond for our RC cruise.
  17. My DH and I will achieve Elite Status in the Celebrity Captain's Club on or before our February 2023 cruise. We just booked an April 2023 cruise on Independence of the Seas. Question: We are Emerald on RC at the time of booking...will that move us to Diamond for IOS in April, or are we stuck with Emerald for this cruise?
  18. I did The Key on my last Allure sailing when the program was new (2020). I loved the dedicated entry/check in and luncheon on Embarkation Day. The reserved seats for the Aqua Show were terrific! We also loved the Disembarkation Day breakfast in the MDR and being able to walk off the ship when we wanted to easily find our luggage in The Key baggage section. The Internet package also was value-added for me. It was a no-brainer for me to purchase The Key for my DH and me for our 2023 cruise!
  19. We had a cabana on our January 2020 cruise. There was hedge between the cabanas and the Oasis lagoon. There were walkways between the cabanas and pool, so we could maintain our privacy yet party in the pool.
  20. My DH loved the short ribs on embarkation day for our Reflection cruise last November. I love the salmon. I may have to switch it up when we sail the Reflection again next February!
  21. I sincerely hope the cruise lines will decide to end pre-cruise testing for one virus. We all assume the risk of catching a bug on a cruise and engage in safe hygiene practices when sailing. Prior to COVID, the big fear on ships was Norovirus, which is still a real thing. One can also catch a cold, the flu, and other infections anywhere we go. I saw that Carnival will allow 10% of its passengers to be unvaccinated. I'm cool with that. Again, we all accept the risks of travel, which will never slow me down!
  22. Thank you for your link to the new website! I was able to enroll in their frequent parker program and make my reservations for our February 2023 cruise! I love ParknGo!
  23. The shortest cruise I've done was on Celebrity for 5 nights. It made me fall in love with Celebrity, but I wouldn't do less than 7 nights again. My worst: a 4 night fundraising Carnival cruise--never again! The shorter the cruise, the more partying goes on.
  24. I've done Concierge consistently. They have helped me learn what businesses were open on St. Thomas following Hurricane Maria, and enrolled my DH (on our 2021 honeymoon cruise) into the Captain's Club. It is my hope the Concierge on our next cruise will help us arrange a golf cart or shuttle from the ship to the taxi stand in Sint Maarten on our next cruise. Fingers crossed....
  25. No need to purchase an excursion to ride the skyride. Take a cab at Crown Bay to the Skyride entrance, pay your fee and enjoy the ride! We plan to do this on our February 2023 cruise!
