  1. Interesting observation. In 22 cruises with RCI I never witnessed drama between pax... on 9 with NCL it was once on Spirit for loungers. I like NCL for festive ambiance and great shows... but it is difficult to call it more sophisticated. I do not believe PAX varies much. Both are family lines. I wish NCL had adult solariums and/or covered pools.
  2. We cruised with 8 lines for a long time starting from 2003. Only had 5 cruises with Royal (platinum) by 2016. Started cruising more with Royal (although still had some cruises with Celebrity, Princess, Holland, NCL and Cunard) and reached Diamond in 2018, D+ this year. 2 cruises since. But I agree Pinnacle is a pipe dream…
  3. Who will test you on the ship? There is no testing unless you request it. When I responded I meant time on the ship. Flying of course could be a problem. That’s why we drive. Even to Florida. We did go through pre cruise tests on 6 out of 7 cruises after restart. If I had to fly I’d take proctored test with me.
  4. I’ve been on various Christmas cruises, but will compare similar class - Explorer. We had amazing Christmas show on ice Also we had amazing Carols singing session. I’m not a Christian, but we had fun.
  5. Of course more cruises. But it is not a choice for us. We will cruise anyway 5-6 a year. We can afford balconies, but never use them anyway. So for us it is inside cabin unless I must work and have meetings. Out of 53 cruises we had about 13-14 balconies, 2 OV and the rest are insides.
  6. Trust me, there is nothing stressful about cruising now. Maybe this test to get on cruise. Have a great cruise. Don't think about Covid. Just keep reasonable precautions.
  7. We switched to driving on all cruises from US in 2007. Once in a while we cruise from Europe and were always lucky to find good prices.
  8. St Kitts doesn't require tests. It was our i think the last port on Enchantment. Day #8 or 9.
  9. We cruise with NCL from time to time due to itinerary and entertainment (large and small). We like midsize more than their large ships. Although none have clear adult solarium, and none have indoor pools which is a huge drawback for sailing from colder places. I find RCI product better overall, but also liked our NCL cruises.
  10. Any rooms for flu? Other illnesses? Tests? Yes, COVID exists and it it transmitted. Just like other illnesses. So what? I got it on one of winter cruises. I got flu on one of winter cruises before. What is a difference?
  11. Is this serious? Everywhere everyone is dropping requirements and only cruise industry suffers? I have been on 7 cruises since restart... maybe during January there was a bit more COVID on board, but no sighs of it in March and June
  12. Loved Mamma Mia on Allure in 2016. It was better than on Broadway.
  13. We watched in Moscow (Russia) in 90-s in Kremlin. 🙂
  14. We heard bad things about Cats before we went to see it on Oasis. Yes, plot is a plot... but they performed amazingly I thought. Really talented group. I did not see people leaving theater. Anyway, Oasis has so many choices in entertainment! I cannot imagine people being disappointed.
  15. I watched Spectra 5 out of 7 times I was on Anthem! I only go when Terry is performing.
  16. Fine for me. Sailed om Celebrity Edge, Anthem (3), Oasis (2), Enchantment from last year. Nothing different than before pandemic. Maybe people got used to quietness during pandemic?
  17. Use approved home tests and pay for online appointment https://onpoint-testing.com/product/certified-teleservice-covid-testing/
  18. For cognac it should actually be Coke or Ice Tea bottle. 🙂
  19. Upload what you have. They will have a date when you upload it.
  20. I believe they got authorization to inquire and get this info, otherwise they would be challenged by now. (Not that they do this verification, but still)
  21. Why are you treating what's left of Covid pandemics as catastrophe? How is this different from flu or noro? Even infected people (which happened to us during one of cruises this year) testify that yes... they have Covid, but symptoms are mild or absent.
  22. And they are right. I see absolutely the same situation in my state of MA. There are no signs of Covid. Usually pandemic/academic lasts about 2 years. 2 years are up. Current covid is in the same league as a flu. If someone is worried, get vaccinated. Otherwise live your life.
