Be like some of the cruise directors. No socks. There is no restriction on the color of the socks but there is on the dinner jacket. 😱🤗. NOT I wouldn’t wear flip flops, sandals, or clogs. Basically dress the way you what. The way you dress makes it the experience you want. If you want to make it feel special dress the way that you feel makes it that way. I would not have cleaned out the shower drain. I am a skilled tradesman and can do many things. How did you do that? My guess is to use a wire coat hanger. I still would have called maintenance. If the person that was cleaning the shower (wonder if they actually did) they should have reported that it was clogged and not draining. We had drawers that didn’t close properly. It was an easy fix for me as they somehow came off of the tracks and I just pulled out the drawers and reinserted them. But If the tracks came off that is for the maintenance crew. I am thinking that the issues you have experienced may become a norm because of all of the cutbacks placing more on the workers Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Years ago I said on a roll call that if someone followed me around they could drink for free. I would try a drink, didn’t like it and left it. Don’t do that anymore as I found the few drinks that I like and and only order them. I will try something new but will leave it if I don’t like it. Not worth the calories. There are now only about 4 that I like on the Martini Menu. Don’t like any of the Zodiac drinks in the Sky Lounge. I will get bourbon old fashion instead of the rum at the WCB. I have tried all of the WCB drinks and like only a few. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Drink from the menu at the Martini bar or World Class bar. Also off the menu in the dining rooms. Ask for premium wines during meals. Look at the drink menus at the bars. They all have one I like Woodford Old Fashions. Don’t mean you will. It is bourbon, a little bar syrup and bitters, muddled with cherries and an orange slice. That is how they make it on board. I also tell them not to top it off with water or seltzer and many will do. Sometimes tell them to add a splash of Grand Marnier for a little more orange flavor. Most foo foo drinks from the pool decks use the cheaper spirits. Very few of those bars carry any premium stuff. You need to know what to look for and ask for it in your drink. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

That is what we do and why we pay a lot to book a suite. We use to travel economically but as we are getting older we don’t need to pinch pennies like we use to. If we don’t spend our money and enjoy it someone else will and I worked too hard all of my life not to enjoy it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Not a X cheerleader but I was told that the grass may look greener on the other side but you still have to mow the lawn. 😱🤗. We see deals on other cruise lines but as you wrote we mostly know what to expect with X. I don’t feel like throwing my money and time for a pig In the poke. Even writing that that you can also count me as one of the potential defectors. I have booked a few short cruises on MSC in the Yacht Club. They are now side by side with the X cruises. We will be in the area and the price was right to test the waters. We still have 9 cruises booked with X in suites but depending on our next few cruises we may cancel and forfeit our $200/cruise deposits on the rest of them when final payment is due. It is usually parked on the pool deck. It is basically a porch or patio hanging on the side on the ship. When on it you don’t feel any different than on being any deck near a bar. It can get very windy and there is very little shade. Can’t say that the view is any better or worse than sitting near the edge of any other open deck I didn’t find any of the chairs or seating to be very comfortable. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅.

I am thinking the same. I have a sunset SS and the move up to AQ suite is more than that on a 4 day cruise. The cruise prior is 10 days and it is $2000, but for the penthouse suite it is $1000. They do crazy things with their pricing offers. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I think it also included workout videos on the TV. Not sure. We regularly do many of the Beach Body programs and bike at least 20 miles per day during nice weather. When we are on a cruise we now use the time to rest our bodies. You need to rest it. I did go to a few of the free classes and found them rather lacking and not very strenuous. I asked the instructor and he said they don’t want the passengers to die during the workouts, they are on a cruise. They are designed to be on the low side because of the clientele It all depends on your fitness level and what you are trying to do. If it is burning calories for the drinks and food you have been consuming forget it as the 1/2 hour spent wouldn’t be enough to compensate for 1 beer. You may burn 300 calories max during a 1/2 hour workout but you would have also burned about 100 just sitting. So you have a 200 cal difference at the max. A regular beer is 150 cal. A cookie forget it, about 300 cal We now go on a cruise, and enjoy it. Leave the workouts and diet at home Happy cruising. 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Here are some more photos. The boxes on the wall, where the red arrow points to are the only thing that is magnetic in the cabin. That is where the do not disturb sign is stored. I like to use magnets to post the papers that I need during the cruise on the wall to keep the surface areas clear. Hooks for the robes, hats, and etc. There is no full length mirror in the cabin. You can see the doors for the closets. They open but it isn’t the same as they use to be. It is like a regular cabinet and not a closet, and no lights. You can see that the chair doesn’t fit under the desk. It just gets in the way. If remember there are no hooks for the robes. The ceiling is magnetic. Don’t know the purpose of those stools at the end of the bed. The drawers in the night stands are very shallow. The night stand between the bed and the all is very small. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

The big difference is the suite itself. Besides the larger angled balcony the cabin is a little deeper. We did a B2B and had to change from the cabin with the angled balcony that was a SS1 to one further down that as a SS2. We noticed that the cabin wasn’t as deep. It was changed from a SS1 to AQ SS and upped the cost difference a lot. We are not a fan of the Persian Gardens on the M class. After a few times we don’t bother. We don’t like the way that Kelly ruined the cabin. She removed all of the shelves in the bathroom, and the drawers are very shallow in the cabin. The walls and the door are not magnetic. That was our deck furniture. The other shows the depth on the desk drawer. The rest in the cabin are no better. Hopefully you will have nicer furniture. Storage is lacking. She removed the “walk in” closets and the lights in them. It seemed as if lighting was lacking throughout the cabin. The chair doesn’t fit under the desk. I have received a email asking about preferences and etc. I have never received a phone call. As some others have wrote it was a waste of time but you never know if it will be helpful or not. It asked what we were celebrating, bed configuration, type of wine, hangers requited, room temp desired, and extra blankets. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Yes you get the amenities that come with that cabin. I may be wrong but I think If you don’t have a drink pack you will have to pay for any drinks in the Retreat Deck. You may get lucky if they slip up and don't look at your card too closely. I have seen the BT checking some cards while sitting at the bar on the Retreat Deck and asked why he did that and he said not all suite passengers have a drink pack plus sometimes passengers walk in and he didn’t recognize the face. Reread what I wrote. There was nothing wrote about the AQ class The OP is in a IV. It doesn’t come with any perks but they can pay extra for them. So if they purchased that package they keep it. If they don’t have any perks they won’t get them in the move up. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

It is nothing new. We had cruises booked on X that were canceled and also shortened by a few days because of them getting chartered. Also for earlier than scheduled dry dock or after because it took longer than expected. On the canceled cruises we were offered $200 OBC if we booked one of the 2 cruises after on the same ship. No thanks as our cabin that we wanted wasn’t available and the cost of the cruises were considerably higher. We booked another cruise line during the same period so we didn’t lose out on our travel arrangements. You never know what any cruise line will do. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

That is an old urban legend. We traveled to Vegas many times and use to read that on the forums. We would get upgrades by just asking. Usually it was a room with a different view or on a higher floor. I use to read the same on this forum. On the first day of the cruise go to the guest relation desk and slip the clerk a $20, $50 etc and ask for an upgrade. Another is give a BT a good TIP and get premium drunks when you have the classic package. I also worked as a dealer in a Detroit Casino. The dealers aren’t card mechanics. We just deal cards and make payoffs. We were taught every way to cheat. The reason for that was don’t try anything as we know all of the tricks and also to know what to look for to catch cheaters. There are so many cameras looking at everyone and everything. There is a supervisor that is watching and a pit boss that is watching. Plus I counted 17 cameras that were around the pit and table. The same goes for the registration desk. Today at most casinos you check in at a Kiosk that prints out your room card. If anyone was caught cheating they were prosecuted. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

If the dining room opens at 5:30 and you show up at 6 you will probably have to wait until that first wave of diners are finished. You also get the crowd that are getting their full benefits from the elite HH that is from 5 to 7. But most in AQ have the drink pack so that may not be a factor.
