We were quarantined due to Covid. We got free on demand. There wasn’t anything we wanted to watch. Same with cable at home with the premium channels. There are very few movie we want to watch. We have them because of the tier we need to watch the regular channel we like. Most of the time I was on the balcony enjoying the sea while reading on my IPad using the WiFi. It wasn’t bad as we were in a suite, got butler service, got any drinks we wanted and etc. The main problem was we lost our taste. Some things didn’t taste like they should have. One bonus was we really didn’t have to get dressed to go for our meals. We got room service and just lounged around in very comfortable clothing. I can’t stand watching the news channels. I sit in my man cave watching old reruns while my wife watches the idiotic morning shows, and news. There aren’t very any if any new movies being made today that we want to see. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

The gratuities went up from $21 to $23/day/pp for suites. The dedicated butler was eliminated The gratuities are no longer included in the perks for suites. That adds another cost of $46/day to the cost. I was checking a cruise I booked in a suite to see if there was a price decrease. The price has really increased and there is no SBC. She said she is giving the passengers what they want???? I don’t ever remember making a comment that I wanted to pay more, don’t include the gratuities, and eliminate the dedicated butler and SBC. Depending on the feed where the ship is located. If in the Caribbean you should get some games but not all. it may be on the TV in your cabin The Casino bar. The Social Craft bar. If it is the SB it is usually in the theater and maybe the large screen on the pool deck We tried streaming football games on our IPads. It doesn’t work. It keeps breaking up. If the games are that important then you should stay home. I use to think that football was the most important thing at the time. Missed a lot to watch them. Now it is really doesn’t matter. It is just entertainment. I knew about every team, who won what and etc. Today even though I watched the games I don’t remember who won the last SB or who played in it. There is more to life. 🤗 Tell you husband to enjoy the cruise that he paid for and not worry about watching a game. Nice upgrade compared to what the difference would have cost. The cost for suites are getting outrageous. We booked a New England cruise in AQ it was $3700 pp, a SS was going to be $9000 pp. Totally not worth that amount extra Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

The Martini Flight isn’t included in your package. You will have to pay full price plus gratuity. You have the premium pack. Order a martini. Try it. Don’t like it, walk away and leave it somewhere or tell the BT you dont like it and want to try something different. After trying a few you can usually tell if you will like it or not but some combinations may surprise you. If you like sweet martinis and smooth drinks the desert martinis are nice. Like ice cream drinks like a mudslide, or Kahlua and cream. No need to do a flight. Another suggestion is for the person you are with to order something different and sample both I am a bourbon old fashion drinker. They have a zacapa old fashion at the World Class Bar. I will have a few of them and then ask for it made with bourbon. They use Luxardo cherries and a large ice cube. If you order one at any other bar ask what bourbon they have and tell them not to top it off with water or seltzer as many will do if you don’t tell them. Not many bars have the premium bourbons and they will use Ten High or Beam. Some bars will stock Woodford, Woodford Double Oak, MM, and maybe a few other better bourbons. You need to look around and ask. It doesn’t take us very long to find a bar and BT that makes it the way we like. My wife likes a splash of Grand Marnier in hers to add a little more orange taste and extra sweetener. Happy cruising

We did that cruise a few times. Loved it. All of the ports had something to offer. Don’t expect much balcony time or pool time. It gets rather chilly for the cruising speed. Personally can’t say cruising thru the seaway did much. When we sailed into it we were probably still in bed and the sail away was during dinner time and dark. If you are a senior you can purchase a golden pass at the ranger station in Bar Harbor that gives you a life time pass for everyone in your vehicle into all of the national parks. At the ranger station there is also a free bus that goes into Arcadia Nation park making many stops except for Cadillac Mountain. It is sponsored by L L Bean. We went to Jordan pond and got their pop overs. The ranger station is about a 6 block walk from the dock. Coming back you can stop at the ice cream store and get a free sample of lobster ice cream. if you want a great lobster roll stop at the Dog and Pony. It is a little off the beaten path. One block away form the Main Street. It is where the locals go. We paid $16, I think it is about $26 now. That is a pint glass for reference. can you see the bun? We could have spilt it but we didn’t as we didn’t know how large it was. in Hamilton we walked to the Maritime museum. It has a section about the Titanic along with other neat stuff. At each port there is a lot to do and see without taking any tours if you are able to walk around.

Was your bid $1300 pp? Did your AQ include the AI? If so it should carry over. It isn’t clear to me what suite you actually got. What category and cabin? Thanks to you we are testing the waters in a short MSC Yacht Club cabin as a side by side with a Celebrity cruise. Same for me. It showed the lunch menus in Luminae but the dinners are just desserts and coffee drinks. I just looked to see if it was updated. It still showed the deserts, a gap and then the coffee drinks. I wanted to look at the prices on the coffee drinks and scrolled down and for what ever reason the selections are after the coffee and deserts. We booked a Panama crusie in 2025. If they cancel the partial canal transit I hope we can cancel the cruise without any penalty. We are paying a hefty premium for that cruise compared to other Caribbean cruises because of the canal. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

There are attention to detail cards that may be in your cabin. If not go to GR and get some but since you are in a suite report it to the now butler team and also the Retreat Hosts, plus the head butler and also ask them for the cards. Supposedly the cards get read by the home office besides the staff on board Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

They are a reseller and have limited supplies. I would recommend buying what you are interested in very early in the cruise. Check everyday as the supply may not be delivered to the store the first day. Most of their stuff is outdated or not with the capacity that you want. It is a called a side by side and yes you can get a discount. I think it is $50. It does have a restriction on the days between. You should get it but you have to inform the cruise line or TA for them to apply it Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Be like some of the cruise directors. No socks. There is no restriction on the color of the socks but there is on the dinner jacket. 😱🤗. NOT I wouldn’t wear flip flops, sandals, or clogs. Basically dress the way you what. The way you dress makes it the experience you want. If you want to make it feel special dress the way that you feel makes it that way. I would not have cleaned out the shower drain. I am a skilled tradesman and can do many things. How did you do that? My guess is to use a wire coat hanger. I still would have called maintenance. If the person that was cleaning the shower (wonder if they actually did) they should have reported that it was clogged and not draining. We had drawers that didn’t close properly. It was an easy fix for me as they somehow came off of the tracks and I just pulled out the drawers and reinserted them. But If the tracks came off that is for the maintenance crew. I am thinking that the issues you have experienced may become a norm because of all of the cutbacks placing more on the workers Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Years ago I said on a roll call that if someone followed me around they could drink for free. I would try a drink, didn’t like it and left it. Don’t do that anymore as I found the few drinks that I like and and only order them. I will try something new but will leave it if I don’t like it. Not worth the calories. There are now only about 4 that I like on the Martini Menu. Don’t like any of the Zodiac drinks in the Sky Lounge. I will get bourbon old fashion instead of the rum at the WCB. Drink from the menu at the Martini bar or World Class bar. Also off the menu in the dining rooms. Ask for premium wines during meals. Look at the drink menus at the bars. They all have one I like Woodford Old Fashions. Don’t mean you will. It is bourbon, a little bar syrup and bitters, muddled with cherries and an orange slice. That is how they make it on board. I also tell them not to top it off with water or seltzer and many will do. Sometimes tell them to add a splash of Grand Marnier for a little more orange flavor. Most foo foo drinks from the pool decks use the cheaper spirits. Very few of those bars carry any premium stuff. You need to know what to look for and ask for it in your drink. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

That is what we do and why we pay a lot to book a suite. We use to travel economically but as we are getting older we don’t need to pinch pennies like we use to. If we don’t spend our money and enjoy it someone else will and I worked too hard all of my life not to enjoy it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Not a X cheerleader but I was told that the grass may look greener on the other side but you still have to mow the lawn. 😱🤗. We see deals on other cruise lines but as you wrote we mostly know what to expect with X. I don’t feel like throwing my money and time for a pig In the poke. Even writing that that you can also count me as one of the potential defectors. I have booked a few short cruises on MSC in the Yacht Club. They are now side by side with the X cruises. We will be in the area and the price was right to test the waters. We still have 9 cruises booked with X in suites but depending on our next few cruises we may cancel and forfeit our $200/cruise deposits on the rest of them when final payment is due. It is usually parked on the pool deck. It is basically a porch or patio hanging on the side on the ship. When on it you don’t feel any different than on being any deck near a bar. It can get very windy and there is very little shade. Can’t say that the view is any better or worse than sitting near the edge of any other open deck I didn’t find any of the chairs or seating to be very comfortable. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅.

I am thinking the same. I have a sunset SS and the move up to AQ suite is more than that on a 4 day cruise. The cruise prior is 10 days and it is $2000, but for the penthouse suite it is $1000. They do crazy things with their pricing offers. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

I think it also included workout videos on the TV. Not sure. We regularly do many of the Beach Body programs and bike at least 20 miles per day during nice weather. When we are on a cruise we now use the time to rest our bodies. You need to rest it. I did go to a few of the free classes and found them rather lacking and not very strenuous. I asked the instructor and he said they don’t want the passengers to die during the workouts, they are on a cruise. They are designed to be on the low side because of the clientele It all depends on your fitness level and what you are trying to do. If it is burning calories for the drinks and food you have been consuming forget it as the 1/2 hour spent wouldn’t be enough to compensate for 1 beer. You may burn 300 calories max during a 1/2 hour workout but you would have also burned about 100 just sitting. So you have a 200 cal difference at the max. A regular beer is 150 cal. A cookie forget it, about 300 cal We now go on a cruise, and enjoy it. Leave the workouts and diet at home Happy cruising. 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Here are some more photos. The boxes on the wall, where the red arrow points to are the only thing that is magnetic in the cabin. That is where the do not disturb sign is stored. I like to use magnets to post the papers that I need during the cruise on the wall to keep the surface areas clear. Hooks for the robes, hats, and etc. There is no full length mirror in the cabin. You can see the doors for the closets. They open but it isn’t the same as they use to be. It is like a regular cabinet and not a closet, and no lights. You can see that the chair doesn’t fit under the desk. It just gets in the way. If remember there are no hooks for the robes. The ceiling is magnetic. Don’t know the purpose of those stools at the end of the bed. The drawers in the night stands are very shallow. The night stand between the bed and the all is very small. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
