  1. I have sailed both and my vote would be for Mardi Gras. Better Water Works and I also loved having Camp Ocean on the same deck as Family Harbor (though it can get a bit crowded in the stairwell there when camp is opening or closing). As for ports, we actually like Nassau (I guess we're in the minority there) so I'd be fine with that itinerary too.
  2. Thank you. It is actually exactly because of these tables that I asked this question as I had heard about them too in my research. I know I could probably use a credit card in a shop.
  3. I am cruising to Nanortalik and Qaqortoq in Greenland later this year. Up until this point, my cruises have all either been in the Caribbean or Alaska so having USD was never an issue. Would it be recommended to exchange some money for Danish Krone before we go? I'm not sure how readily accepted USD would be there as these are remote villages where tourism is not the primary focus. I'm also not sure how much money we'd really be spending since we've prebooked ship excursions, but I want to be prepared. I usually like to purchase at least one souvenir (usually a piece of jewelry) that reminds me of the area. Thanks!
  4. Many of the animal skins you will find are sealskin which is illegal to bring back to the U.S. In fact, from the videos I've seen as I haven't been there yet, the tannery has a big sign on the wall stating such. I guess if there are other animal skins available that are not seal, you may be able to bring it back.
  5. I've never bought just 1 day, so I'm not sure. I'm fairly certain that the 1 day price would be more than the daily price if you purchase for the whole cruise. But, then again, you're paying a lot more overall if you buy for the whole cruise.
  6. I don't even know how they could refare you at the port. The people checking you in do not work for Carnival. If guest services tried to charge extra after boarding, what would they do if you couldn't pay? Kick you off? I mean I guess they could, but I have never heard of this happening. So as long as you know you are going in with somewhat of a risk, then I don't see any issues. It's true they likely won't get the OBC though since that would be tied to your name.
  7. Quick Fix from Alchemy Bar but I'm probably in the minority. Non-alcoholic, I love my POG (Passion Fruit Orange Guava) juice at breakfast. I actually fill a few cups and keep them in the fridge for later in the day.
  8. It let me add it to cart and automatically put me on the 2:00 option so seems like they allow it.
  9. Has anyone ever done this? Is there anything to be concerned about if the times line up (other than possible delays of the first excursion)? On our upcoming Greenland cruise, we have a Viking ruins excursion booked for one of the Greenland ports. This tour is at 10:00 and lasts 2.5 hours so theoretically we should be done by 12:30. There is also a Greenlandic Food and Beer excursion in the same port that my husband would enjoy (me, I'm not so sure but hey I'd give it a try lol). There are many times available with the latest being 2:00. Does anyone see a major risk in booking both of these? If everything goes well, I should have a good hour and a half between excursions.
  10. It's probably not fleetwide yet, but eventually will be.
  11. The birthday breakfast is replacing the original one, so once you are able to book it will be the only option. It does have a slightly different menu than the old breakfast (IMO, it looks better).
  12. You will find way more active roll calls on other sites which cannot be mentioned here. One in particular that is a very popular social media. 🙂
  13. Of course, but I'm not 100% sure the agent understood my questions. 🙂 I was just wondering if maybe someone had experience with this.
  14. I know there have been other threads about the Carnival Mastercard, but I searched those and could not find an answer to this specific question. I know the card offers 6 months no interest on cruise bookings (fare only). Does anyone know if this applies to new bookings only or if this also applies if you pay the remaining balance on an existing booking? And I also know you can pay off your cruise over time with no interest anyway. I'm really talking more about cruises that are closer to final payment than that. Thanks
  15. They are still a thing and I was recently able to use a $50 spa gift card towards a $65 manicure. I'd neve pay that much for a manicure normally, but for $15 (plus the gratuity) it wasn't bad.
  16. This sounds like a lot of fun and I'll definitely try this out if they still have it on my next cruise with Carnival Kitchen. We did the cupcake class and we enjoyed it, but to be fair, the cupcakes themselves weren't great (we didn't make them, just decorated them). We did make our own melting cake though and that was the best part.
  17. I know this is technically the policy, but has this ever actually happened to anyone? If you tell them the person is arriving later and then board the ship, are they actually going to find you and make you pay more or kick you off? I'm not saying its not possible, but I've never heard of it happening to anyone.
  18. They priced me out a while back and I used to buy it every time.
  19. Obviously they never intended for the dog to have to wait 28 hours between pottying. They knew the ship provided a potty area for the dogs and weren't aware that their dog would refuse to use it. They now know for next time and can be better prepared. They certainly weren't being negligent or purposefully cruel in any way.
  20. They sure do, and no it is not the same kids menu as the MDR (as it seems some posts are suggesting).
  21. Family Harbor has a special benefit that makes kids under 12 free in the specialty restaurants like the steakhouse, Rudi's, etc. Yes, they do have to order from the kids menu, but normally that would be about $10, not free for those not staying in Family Harbor.
  22. Dream already sailed from New Orleans in the past. I sailed on her twice from that port.
  23. To be fair, the Jubilee's decor is "under water." That doesn't really have anything to do with Jubilee. 🙂
  24. I wish you could add Cheers at the time of booking and roll it into the payments you make like you can with things like prepaid gratuities. While I understand the cost in the end would be the same, I'd have a much easier time paying it if I didn't have to pay it all at once and would be much more likely to buy it (the only time I ever had it was when it was free). (Queue the people saying save up, put the amount on gift cards, etc.. But it would probably work in their favor to sell more Cheers. Disney World does this, for example, with their dining plan and it makes it more likely for people to buy it.)
